ESPN is reporting that MANNY wants to end his career here and says he will get a haircut since it is the team's policy.

I just read that 30 hours after the trade was announced, the Dodgers sold 30,000 single game tickets and 300 season tickets for the remaining games this year. They sold 12,000 tickets to last night's game after the trade was announced!

And we don't even have to pay the guy this year!

Argh Billy Wagner blows a 2 run lead in the 9th and we go onto lose in extras!! This bullpen .

My team finds the craziest plays to blow games on. In the 9th with us up by two, bases loaded and out for the Astros, a guy hits a line single to shallow RF. The guy on 3rd actually stumbles so we had a chance for the force at home, but apparently just missed it-close play.... but b/c that guy was still in sliding position at homeplate and in the way, he blocked our catcher from being able to tag the guy coming home right behind him. So instead of maybe 2 outs and the game over, or at least 1 out and being still in the lead, the game gets tied. UGh

and THAT RAZZ is the DODGER WAY to play baseball!

Hopefully we will win tomorrow. Don't want to get swept by the Stros and/or fall too far back. Now 2 gms back after being 2 up a week ago, ugh.


The half game thing comes into play when one team has played more games than the other. And you pick up/lose a half game if your team just played and the other team hasn't played yet or doesn't have a game that day. You only pick up a full game if your team wins and the other team loses.

So if the Sox were 50-49, and the Yankees were 49-49, the Sox would be a half game up, b/c they have one more win, but the same number of losses. (You would also be a half game up if you had the same number of wins, but 1 less loss)

And then as far as picking up games. Using the same records, if the Yankees were to win, and the Sox didn't play, the Yankees would go to 50-49 and pick up that half game in the standings. (And then later on if the Sox won the half game the Yanks picked up would be erased and the Sox would go back to being 0.5 gms up, if the Sox lost then the Yankees would pick up another half game and go ahead of the Sox by 0.5)

Anyway I hope that (Long) explanation helps and isn't too confusing and I hope the Yankees never actually do go in front of the Sox
