    Hello?
  • Thanks everyone for the dress compliments. I have decided Dress number is the one. I am concerned with my arms though. I hope I am 40 lbs less by then and surely the arms will have shrunk and toned up some? What do y'all think? I've been looking for some sort of lacy wedding type jacket I could wera over it if need be, but so far no luck. I haven't lost any weight this week and it's freaking me out. I have to lose 2 lbs a week to be 40 lbs less by July 4th! but really sooner, because I have ti buy the dress! EEEEK!

Sorry TOM is creeping up on some of you. Sucks being a female sometimes.

hotcubanmama- I'm totally looking forward to Jillian kicking my butt! They should be here on Friday!!! Hopefully before i work out for the day!

Losinitin07- Emotional eating is a huge issue for me too and sad to say I have had a rough couple of days with it....Sigh.... WTG on getting over the 1st hurdle with the recognition.

Bette k _ Congratz on getting back good labs from your doctor! WTG girly! I understand not knowing anyone on here. Up until last challenge I hadn't made any connections either until I just started posting with my team (Red) and it just sort of happened. I got very attached to all of them. So I am lurking in all 3 chat threads because I miss them, lol!

All of you with the busy jobs, I say quit them! LOL! Just kidding! It's totally understandable, I just really hoped to get to know all of you and make more attachments. We are all going through the ame struggles yanno? It really does help to post the good, the bad and the ulgy. I hope to see more of you on here.

Dea - WTG on a 2 lb loss even with TOM and indulging! That's awesome.

Anywho, I hope you all posted your weights!

    Julz are ya back yet???
  • Diva..I must have missed the dresses....where are they posted?
Don't "freak-out" about losing the 40 lbs! Do the best you can, and be proud of every pound gone. I would hate for you to be disappointed in yourself on your wedding day!! You will look awesome regardless of your weight!
  • Dea, heres the dresses. Dress #1 is the one I am going for.

    #1

  • Jillian Michaels tip of the day....
Good morning everyone. I got this in my email and since some of us have been struggling with emotional eating, I thought it was perfect. How does she know I was strugglin? hehe

Jillian Michaels tip of the day....
    Let Go of the Trigger
Okay, go get your journal or log in to your online Fitness Diary. As promised, I'm going to start showing you how to break the cycle of emotional eating. Below are two questions. For a week, before you eat anything, whether it's dinner or a small snack, I want you to answer these two questions in your journal. By doing this, you'll begin to distinguish between real hunger and emotional triggers.
    1. Are you hungry?
Are you experiencing any physiological conditions that are signaling to you that you are hungry? Is your stomach growling? Do you feel weak or tired? Has it been longer than three or four hours since you last ate? If you concentrate on answering these questions, it will be very easy to determine whether you are genuinely, physically hungry or whether you are eating for a different reason. If you've determined that you are hungry, then it's time to eat. If not, it's time for the next question.

    2. Are you depressed or anxious?

Did you just get into a fight? Are you anxious about a work-related deadline? Whatever it might be, write down what you're feeling and why you think you're feeling it. Getting in touch with your emotions here is critical. If you can't, you're going to have an incredibly difficult time reaching your weight loss goals. Dig deep, and get it in writing.

Sit tight — next Tuesday, I'll ask another question that will help you break the cycle of emotional eating once and for all.

  • Good morning ladies and gentleman! Wow its frickin cold outside. It went from 45 deg yesterday to the teens today. The wind is blowing like 90 miles an hour out of the North and they're talking snow. Yesterday was OP day. I stuck to my menu and got 4 miles in on the treadmill, so I'm pretty pleased with myself. Gonna try and get another good run in today. I'm trying to log 40 miles for this month, I'm not gonna make it goal but thats ok I improved considerably since last month.

Roni- I love dress #1, I'm sure you look beautiful in it! If you are concerned with how your arms will look, how bout a wrap. You could do a silk or satin, or even a sheer wrap. Not sure how hot it gets in PA in July, but I'm thinking the lighter the better. Like I said above what ever you decide you'll be beautiful. I can't wait to see wedding pics .

Dea-great job on the 2lbs lost! Keep up the good work.

Hotcubanmamma-YOU ROCK! Get 4 beads out lady cuz you deserve em! What kinda diet plan are you using?

Bettek-Congrats on the Dr's visit. What a great motivator, to see the benefits to exercise and healthy eating, some where other than the scale. Here's to a healthier you.

Michelle-They always say, slow and steady is the best way. Keep up the good work! Check in when you can, you don't have to post much just a simple hi and let us know how you're doing.

Tatiana-Hang in there-TOM is always a tough week. If you don't lose this week, it will probably be do to water retention, which means after the dreaded TOM leaves you'll have a big number the next week. Just don't get discouraged, we all have ups and downs.

Hope4me-Way to go on the 2lbs :carrot. You're way of thinking about food is right on. There are foods that we all love, and we shouldn't have to cut them out completely, by doing that we are setting ourselves up to fail. Thank you for your encouraging words. I think that we shouldn't determine our successes by only pounds lost but how we handle ourselves when we are down. Do we give in or do we examine our situation and determine whether maybe we could of done better in some area. You too are such an inspiration to this team. Thanks for all you do!

ceegee-3.2lbs that GRRREEAATT! Have fun on your trip, we'll be waiting to hear all about it.

3littleones-its good to hear from you. Check in when you can.
  • Thanks Roni for the tips- I need to stop and think about why I'm eating, cuz a lot of times I'm really not hungry.
  • More from my email & Jillian Michaels:

    Emotional Triggers Behind Eating

You just got into a knockdown-dragout fight with your spouse. Or your kid. Or your mom. Or the guy behind you in the checkout line. Your reaction is to head for the kitchen to soothe yourself with something smooth, fattening, creamy, sugary, salty, or crunchy — pick your poison.
Sound familiar? If so, you're an emotional eater. But you've probably figured that out already. You've probably also figured out that unhealthy overeating leads not only to weight gain but to a destructive pattern of anxiety and self-loathing that's tough to break on your own. Want to break the cycle? I'm here to help.

You've got to start by facing the fact that there will never be a totally stress-free time in your life. There. That's as bad as it gets. Now on to the good news: You can stop emotional eating. The key is to identify the things that make you feel pressured, sad, angry, or anxious. Once you understand your triggers, you can break the cycle and start regaining control of when, why, and how you eat.

The best way to identify your emotional triggers is through self-examination. Face your issues. Bring them out of your subconscious and into your conscious reality. This is the most empowering thing you can do for yourself.

To change the present, you have to let go of your past. Forget about the times when you binged because you were upset, hurt, angry, or depressed. The past does not define you; the present does. Having a crystal clear vision of the future affects your behavior now. Let your daily actions be governed by your game plan for a new you. Keep that game plan in the forefront of your mind by writing about it and letting it become real. There's no deadline. Just commit to the process and take it day by day.
  • Hello black team
Great job everyone this week! I am sorry to see some people go.
I hope to stay on track this week and control my eating, I tend to eat when I am board.
    Dream- Where do you live?
  • Soulbliss.... it still works LOL! I'm really sorry you are feeling left out! Thats not what this challenge is all about. I'm thinking there is just some disconnect with the way all the teams were scrambled this time around. Just need a little push to get everyone out and meeting each other. Maybe a little black team challenge?
  • I think anybody that's shown losses two weeks in a row should be congratulated!! Whoo-hoo!!!

Our numbers haven't been posted yet this morning (no rush, Julz!!), but from the other team's numbers, it seemed like week 2 was not nearly the blow-out week one was. No biggee . . . just keep going!! I bet if all of us just posted a one pound loss per week we would win the contest.

In the end, that's what separates winners from losers is the ability to keep going even when it gets TOUGH.

    WE CAN DO THIS!!!

    Big hugs to everyone!!

Also, the emotional tips are AWESOME!! Thanks so much!!
  • Good Morning Black Team!! Hope you all had a good evening last night and are ready to face another day.

Diva - I agree maybe a light wrap would work with your dress. Maybe lace or silk. Either would be perfect. And I really thought the flip flops were cute!! That's something that I would wear!! And thanks for the tips on emotional eating. I believe that is something we all struggle with at times.

SoulBliss - Sorry you are feeling left out. I saw in another thread that you did a whole page of personals and didn't get any response to them. Personally speaking, I am not great at personals. I will try to do better. Please don't feel like you're being ignored. You definitely are not!!!

I do agree with Melissa's idea. Maybe we need a black team challenge. What do you all think? Maybe Julz can come up with a good one for us.

My mantra for the week is to be kinder to myself and not beat myself up when I go off plan. I will just acknowledge that I did it and get right back on plan and go forward.

Have a good day everyone. I'll check back in later.
  • Hola Teammates ! ! !
Happy Tuesday to ya. Surprise, it's raining in Seattle....it was supposed to snow last night and boy was I ready for a snow day. But no, the weather folks whiffed on that one.
I am happy to report that I did a 20 min. program on the treadmill last evening that had me running for a bit. A note on that - I am a terrible runner. As a kid playing softball, I had to hit it into the opposite field to get a single.
Congrats to everyone who posted a loss this week! For those of us who didn't, well, we are still here and still trying. THAT, for me was the biggest hurdle...for me, losing the weight only started happening when I got my head around the fact that I needed to do this for me and that I wasn't getting any younger.

I have a question for everyone...What's for breakfast? I have learned to love breakfast and I have totally bought into "most important meal of the day" stuff....currently, I am into yogurt and Kashi....one little container of Dannon Light & Fit with a 1/2 cup of Kashi translates to 2 1/2 points for me, and I have found it to be a great way to start my day.

Well - time to get to work....I thought of quitting, but when I asked my boss to give me some time to write up my resignation, he laughed and gave me another project.

Fight the good fight today ladies.....See Ya !
  • I love breakfast!!! Sorry couldnt help chiming in! LOL...I'm loving the 1 point bagels, you can have the whole bagel for only 110 calories! I love the onion bagel, this morning I had the cinnamon bagel w/ honey nut cream cheese and some pinapple. The other thing I love for breakfast is the Weight Control Quaker oats.
  • I try and have the same couple of things everyday for Breakfast and lunch and then mix it up a bit for dinner.

Usually for breakfast I have Cheerios 1/Milk and some fruit, or Kashi oatmeal and fruit and a cup of milk, or a piece of whole grain wheat bread with 1 TBSP of peanut butter on it and a small sliced up banana over the top and a cup of milk. SOOOOO Good.

For Lunch, I do a big salad with grilled chicken and salad spritzer dressing, or a few serving of mixed frozen veggies (I get mine @ Walmart) and some chicken or fish and water.

For snacks, I like the 100 calorie packs, sometimes I have some light cream cheese over a slcie of whole wheat taost. Less calories and carbs than a bagel, and fruit, sometimes yogurt.
