  • +8 today, of which I ran 6.75(3.25 & 3.5 with a .5 warmup, .25 in between, .5 cooldown). My best run ever, and I attribute a lot of that to the woman's running club I met around mile 5.5 cheering me on every time we crossed paths. (We were going opposite directions on the track.) Something invigorating about people clapping when you pass!

I have to register for a formal event soon...
  • 3.2 today. My 5K! I'll write about it tomorrow.

Angie and I have been taking the dogs out after dinner for a couple of miles most nights this past week and went out in the mornings this week-end before work, yoga and church.

You are all doing so well!

    And my 5K report below:

    The race was ugly.

Ahhhh.....when I was warming up, I looked around and saw so many fit, fast looking people. I thought, "I'm going to be last." Remember this is not a typical 5K, it is part of the University's cross country meet, so all sorts of runners affiliated with the running community went out. It was not a typical fun run. I spied a 6 year old kid warming up, the only person who did not look like a 6 minute mile runner. I felt better. At least I can beat a 6 year old right (hey, I never claimed to be a good person).

So we took off. Everyone passed me. But that's typical. I just kept telling myself to go my pace. That I wouldn't be last. The 6 year old is back there, right. A lady passes me. No one else does. I pass the lady on a hill. I pass a few more people. The course curves. I see the lady I passed. She was LAST. Which meant that I was LAST for awhile!!! Geez!!!! I suffer through the course. My time was a 30:35. Oh man.

And the 6 year old? Yeah, he beat me.
  • BABY CATCHER 10 minute miles are fine! Keep remembering...it isn't about the "clock"....just like it's not about the "scale"....

#1 ~ training for a 5K is a great thing ~ #2 ~ running one is another ~ #3 I am sure there wasn't that many in the race #4 ~ wearing cool looking running clothes ~ #5 YOU FINISHED!!!!

Got 4 in with the dogs this morning

    356/1000 MILES
