Lilacs don't bloom here until late June...sigh..I have a little lilac bush/tree next to the back deck and love the smell. No allergies with DH or me so I bring them inside.

Oh my goodness, those little rhymes brought me back in time. We used to sing "ears" also, when we were young, in place of "boobs" but that was soon replace with the Boobie song. I don't think I was ever perky and never wanted to increase anything, lol.

I've never had mashed cauliflower. Don't know if I'd like it as well as mashed potatoes, although I do like cauliflower. Maybe someday I'll try it.

I was up early today as I was helping serve breakfast at the local elementary school. Churches and service clubs take turns every Monday, Wednesday & Friday. We'll have our next and last turn for the school year on June 1. I used to teach in that school so it's kind of fun going back. I don't know any of the kids as the youngest ones who had been in Kindergarten are in Grade 6 and have completely changed and don't remember me either. I taught grade 1 and didn't have much contact with the K class. I know many of the teachers though and it's nice to get a hug from old colleagues.

I made an apricot coffee crumble cake this morning using up some rather ancient dried apricots that I found in the cupboard a few weeks ago. I still have a few left so I'll be doing another apricot "thing" soon. Last week I made an apricot cake but that wasn't as nice as the coffee cake. I froze the rest of last week's cake and will take it to a potluck or leave it until I have lots of company.

The sun is breaking out and it's looking much better after dinner than it did early this morning. It's cool but sunny so that really brings the spirits up.

Lynn, glad you had such a great time in NYC. I tried the peanut noodles and veggies today. I wasn't sure DH would like them so I also made him an egg salad sandwich. But he liked them and ate a good serving. I made half the recipe but a full recipe of the sauce so we'd have lots of sauce. I have about half left for another meal and some of the sauce left to stir in when heated. This was our first try at peanut sauce and it was good.

I make mine into portions (about 6) and freeze most. I make extra sauce to use when I heat up the frozen ones.

Glad you enjoyed it. I am planning on making your rice & chick pea recipe this weekend. I am not yet totally vegetarian, but I am working on it.

Thanks Gayle and Marie for your thoughts about my husband's tests. We don’t have all the results yet, still waiting for the bone marrow biopsies, but the CT scan and biopsies from his endoscopy were negative for cancer. The Physician Assistant said, “Your something of an anomaly - still in remission at 8 years.;” That didn’t make us feel great. Makes us feel like there is something hanging over his head. It does cause me to remember that, even though he annoys the crap out of me sometimes - I don’t want anything to happen to him.

Carol Sue - I am looking forward to the grands. I just hope I’m still functioning by the time they arrive.

Change - it sounds like you have lined up some good help. Hope all goes well with your DS.

Rosie - glad your husband's surgery went well. Hope he heals quickly.

Debbie - good luck taking care of the basil cell. I’m glad it wasn’t anything worse.

Hi Dee,

When I hit 5 years past my melanomas, the doctor told me I can relax. According to him, going 5 years cancer-free is kind of like getting over a hurdle. It shows that even though my body obviously knows how to make cancer, it has decided not to.

I have taken this as a positive. We may be anomalies, by I am REALLY pleased about it.

Congratulations on your continued remission! And thanks. We do know that great treatment and other things (Steve's otherwise great health, God, luck, magic?)have helped and he is very fortunate. The PA is right. Many of the patients with MCL that have had his treatment, fall out of remission and require more treatment before this. I'm sure he meant it in a nice way.

Hi everyone. another beautiful sunny day. i spent some time soaking up the sun. dh resting better,he even spent some time outside and i helped him have a shower. dd and sil came by with some things i asked them to pick up in town and collected their laundry i did for them. my dh puter is sick too so sil is going to wipe it clean and re do everything. im using my dd laptop for now. hoping your weekend is wonderful rosey

I have been gifted a few nights in a cabin in Pigeon Forge. Hubby is taking care of the boy, and I am going to go and spend some time alone, thinking and praying and trying to find some peace for my troubled heart.

There is a Women of Joy conference going on close by. I did not even know. Tickets are $100 for the entire weekend, and I cannot do that. Tonight Chris Tomlin is in concert, and I so want to go. I NEED to go. Please pray that someone will have mercy on me and allow me to come in. I don't care if I stand the whole time, I just feel like this will minister to me.

I am down another pound this morning. This dieting thing works, if you do it consistantly! LOL

Rie - Is there somewhere online where I can find more information about the "liver dumping overnight?" I need a better understanding of this. It seems no matter what I do I can't get my FBS below the 120's. I have been up during the night at times and have tested my glucose just to see and don't see any spikes or lows. My A1c's are pretty good, but I would like to see better FBS without increasing my meds.

Isabella - One day a woman at work brought a bouquet of lilacs to work and put them on her desk near mine. OMG I thought I was going to die! I got dizzy and my eyesight got blurry, that's how bad the reaction was. They were very adamant at work about people wearing perfume etc because of people's allergies, but they never said anything about flowers. They were just as bad or worse for me.

Yes, not everyone wanted to increase their bust, but for them the song was changed to "improve my bust". They just wanted to firm things up! LOL

Hi everyone.just a quick post about the liver dumping for bs levels it's called the dawn affect check out the dieting for diabetics there should be some info on it. i was diabetic but 2 weeks after by bypass surg my sl where normal and no more meds. i did experience the same thing tho befoe. hope that helps you some what carolsue. rosey

When I was in high school, we had a gym teacher who was very well-endowed. She used to have us do these exercises where we would chant (while pushing our elbows toward our backs) - "We Must, We Must, We Must Develop Our Busts."

Marie, slim thank you for the advice,, The hubby and I are going to do some pool work and work upper body, I have to do something!!

My cravings have been so intense, specially for sweets and chocolate finely it dawned on me why, my body had gotten so used to the endrophins from all the cardio work I was doing and now that I have stopped the brain is trying to replace them with the comfort foods... uuuggg

Today some of my classmates promoted to black and second black so the whole regional board is down here for that, and seminars. I watched the promotions,, those people are my family I am so proud of them,, any whoo had the hubs bring me home after. I can't participate and can't sit that long to watch.. BUT it did motivate the crap out of me,, so move over pity party you are done!!!

I was feeling a little down today (shocking) and decided to call youngest DS who lives far away. I told him that since his brother is working on Mother’s Day, maybe his dad and I would come for a visit. He said that would be great - he was planning on coming home for that anyway. I said, “You were?” He said, “Of course. No how, no way, would I not see my mother on Mother’s Day!” That really lifted my spirits. Now, I’m sure he is probably expecting his dear dad to pay for the flights but still…I’m happy.
