Chris - The weather here today is windy but beautifully sunny.

Helen - How did you cook your broccoli and cabbage? I don't much like plain boiled green cabbage - I normally buy savoy cabbage, its got a nicer taste and texture (yummy steamed then stir through a small knob of butter and plenty of black pepper). My fav way of having broccoli is steamed then let it cool a bit and dress with a nice salad dressing and mix with red kidney beans in a 'winter salad'.

Jen - Lovely bike! Good luck with selling your old one.

Sarah - I just lobbed it into a stir fr and ate it that way. The cabbage was savoy anyway (I think, not being a cabbage expert )

I've just read the papers, done some vacuuming and had some yummy parsnip soup . This afternoon I really must tackle the bathroom.

Hello everyone

I have just come back from a little bit of shopping. I decided to look properly in Primark since everyone keeps going on about it. Anyway I bought some work trousers for a fiver I did try a size 12 but they were too big, and a lovely young boy went and looked upstairs for a size 10 for me. I also bought some bottoms for the gym which cost £3.00. There were lots of nice bits and pieces in there and so cheap.

Came home and had a fried egg sarnie and a yoghurt.

I am really looking forward to my induction at my new gym on Tuesday. Last night two friends and I walked Ken for two hours.

No plans for this evening just the celebrity ice thing most probably how sad am I. Right I go have to go and see my mum and dad.

I'm beyond help. I've decided that as it will be cold tomorrow it would be a really good idea to have some soup in the car for after the race. So obviously the logical thing to do is get up even earlier on a Sunday morning to make some... (I've found a really quick one pan no blend recipe though, so I figure I can set it off cooking while I eat my breakfast and not have to pay too much attention to it). I've just made myself a nice looking vegetable bake to eat tonight, and then I think I'll just read or watch a film maybe before an early night.

I think I'm having a day of rest exercise wise today. It's crazy windy (not at all like was over there) but its freezing cold.

I had to work today for some professional development and I just got home, I'm not in the mood for the gym so I may just take a day off, I don't think I've had a rest day in over a week.

I was so proud of myself at training, I ended up seated next to a table of chocolate bars that somebody was selling for their kids fundraiser...I didn't have any, and for lunch I ordered turkey delight, a turkey sandwich with all kinds of veggies.....I really wanted a burger and fries.

I think an afternoon and night on the couch are in order.....I desperately need to do laundry and clean up around here.

Glad to hear that the gale force winds have abated over there now, we've had wind today, bloody cold wind, but like you Sarah, sun with it.

I've not done much really, had to tackle my bed and bedding this morning after reading an article on bed bugs...I cleaned it all off and hoovered the matress and turned it, it's such a work out getting the bloody thing off and turned and of course it doesn't help having Pen and Lew around my legs thinking that they may be helping me! Still it's all done now, the bedding is all washed and the bed made back up.

Pretty good eating wise and I've been on my while Dave was blasting music at the computer, then I laid on the floor and we chatted for ages about some of the music we were listening to and the concerts we've been to.... quite romantic really, he even had a dance with me....bless.

Well done on resisting the burger anad fries RSG....shame about having a training day on a Saturday, why do school districts do that?

Michelle, hope Mum and Dad are doing well... I had a fried (in Pam) egg sarnie for lunch too, it's an awfully warming of the tum lunch I find

Hello people just checking in to say HELLO! and a belated Happy New Year!

G'morning, everyone.

Awwww, Chris, thats so sweet. DH and I tend to dance with the dogs rather than each other!

Another windy/sunny day here - rumour has it that its going to get very cold tonight.

I'm feeling a little 'fragile' today after a brilliant Girls Night Out. Rather too much of the red wine on a virtually empty tummy. We all stopped off at my favourite kebab take-a-way place on the way home but I managed to resist!!!!!

Anyone else noticed that it takes them a lot less to get tiddly now they've shifted a few pounds???

I've given up trying to work out yesterday's calories - each pub we went to gave a different size glass..... (well... thats MY excuse, anyway!)

Today I'm going to be VERY good - back to 1200 calories - Roast Lemon Chicken, loads of veggies and I'm making a kind of potato gratin to go with it - I haven't had the gratin for ages but I just found that Sainsbury's do a reduced fat/calorie cream. I don't miss cream as part of a dessert but I do miss cooking with it so I'm really looking forward to trying it out.

My first shift at the PO tomorrow I never knew how many different kinds of transactions go through the Post Office!

Glad you had a good night out Sarah, and your right drink does affect you more I think as you lose weight. I havent had a drink since before Christmas but I am out next week. So expect to hear me doing my usual oooooooooh I feel so ill routine.

Chris how romantic very occasionally hubby and I dance.

It feels cold here today, just rang my father him and I are going out for a drink today as it is his 65th birthday tomorrow. He hasn't had a pint since Christmas day but he says he thinks he can manage one. He looks very frail but if he fancies a pint who am I to say don't be doing that.

It's freezing again and I really want to run. I had a personally awful night last night, some people close to me let me down and I was upset all night. I woke up today ready to stop the pity party and go for a run, either that or spinning since weather guy just said the wind chill is below 0 and the tread mill and I hate each other.

The old me would have laid under the blankets all day, probably ordered a pizza and not left the house. I'm still mad but I want to exercise and forget it all.

I feel like relationships should be drama free once you are over 30!!!!

Oh and Sarah it takes me far less to get a little tipsy than it used to, problem is I don't always realize it when I'm doing it!!!

Sarah, you're night out with the girles sounds great, hope you're feeling less fragile now and that your grautin comes out how you want. Keep wrapped up if you go outside if your weather is getting as cold as I think it is here. It was 20F last night and still the same this morning, the wind has died down but it feels bloody raw out. I can feel all the moisture being sucked out of my skin. Have fun at the PO tomorrow.

I want to walk pen and Lew but Lew is still gimpy and every time he goes out for a wee in te garden, he shivers violently, so I think even with his coat on and a short walk, I wouldn't be doing him any favours...maybe tomorrow.

Morning everyone. Well it's official I'm in self-destruct mode. Why do I do this? My eating has been dreadful the past week. I haven't journaled in ages and I'm pigging out.I need a kick on the touche

Yesterday was so busy we had so much to do. Middle daughter had a poms competition where my oldest goes to uni. So we all went, picked her up, watched the competition and went to lunch. She looked so peely wally. I always worry about her when I haven't seen her in a while. Then we went and did some shopping stuff that she needed.

I have to go see the doc tomorrow bit nervous about that. Don't know what he's going to suggest.

Snow overnight, not very much.

Sarah - yes, I get drunk a lot more easily now. Partly because I'm smaller I think, but also because I drink less anyway. (On that subject, one thing I've always wondered - I always thought that how drunk you are depends on how much alcohol is in your blood, so does that mean I now have less blood than I used to, and if so, where did it go? I know that fat burns, but what about blood? Or is blood alcohol just a way of measuring it, when the actual drunkenness comes from something else?).

Anyway, I may well be putting that theory to the test this afternoon, I've got myself a bottle of mulled wine to warm myself up and celebrate after my run. I absolutely smashed my PB to bits and took about 5 minutes off it. I even beat someone from running club who I never expected to beat over that distance (but didn't beat the person I was trying to beat, bizarrely). I finished in 1:49, and had never even considered that I might get under 1:50 at this one. Anyway, I had a glass of wine and some spinach lasagne in the pub (as well as my soup, which tasted fantastic at the end - I'll definitely take soup to a race again), now I've got my mulled wine and I might have a proper meal this evening too, according to my watch I burned off 1440 calories this morning so I probably need to eat something to refuel And anyway, you can only celebrate the first time under 1:50 once

Now the chocloate has gone, get your journal out, and start writing everything down...don't worry about S... she'll be ok, even if she is a bit peelywally looking...it's just the weather.

I never realised that organic chicken would smell so different from normal chicken. Unbelieveable!
