  • FINALLY! I get to start stabilization next Wednesday!!!!

I'm been battling with my center over my body fat percentage (that's how they set my weight loss goal). I started at 34% and they wanted me at or below 26% before allowing me to start stabilization. I kept telling them the scale wasn't measuring me right. They finally agreed with me last Saturday. This morning they told me they did a lot of research and found the reason the scale was reading my body fat % wrong was because they should have been putting me in as an athlete instead of a normal person. Athlete is basically anyone that has had a history of working out 1.5 hours+ a day 6-7 days a week for the last couple of years. Well, I've been doing that for last the 7-8 years so I'm definitely an athlete!

So this morning I weighed in at 153 lbs but my body fat was down to 23%!!! FINALLY!!! I almost cried when it showed 23% on the scale. I'm so excited. I'm going on a trip this weekend for a bachelorette party and I plan to go off plan Saturday so I will probably gain (water) weight. I hope by next Wednesday I can be back at 153 (or lower). My ultimate goal is to stabilize/maintain between 145-150 lbs. I'm so freakin happy!
  • Congratulations! I'm happy for you!!

I just don't get it. I just came from WI and they now show me at 204.5..what the heck is going on? I'm just really frustrated right now and am trying not to let it bother me, but how can it not...ARGH.
  • Do you weigh at the same time every time you go? Do your clothes vary in their weight. Sometimes this little things add up.

I'm going this evening for WI. If I don't have a loss this time, I'll have a bigger one next week.

It all seems to even out.

When are you going to weight again?

Do they do a body comp on you when you WI? Could it be that you are gaining muscle mass because you are working out more than you did pre-diet? If they aren't doing a body comp each time, I would ask them to. That way you can see if you are losing fat, gaining muscle and even if your water weight has gone up. My body comps consistently show fat loss, but my water weight goes up so my weight stays the same.
  • My times of WI's vary so much. I've been trying to WI mid-morning, but that depends on my work schedule and such. I may try and go on Saturday morning to WI next.

They normally don't do a body comp. I'm due for my one-month measurements and tanita(sp?) maybe on saturday. I almost wanted to ask her to run it today because I have been trying to exercise and such. Thanks for the words of wisdom!

Don't be shy about asking them to run the body comps (tanita) every time you go in. It takes them an extra 30 seconds. The extra information it provides will probably help with understanding why your weight is the same or increased. I had them do a body comp on me EVERY TIME I went in.

Also, going in at different times and wearing different things definitely make a big difference. I usually go in on Wednesdays after work in my work clothes and then on Saturdays after breakfast in my workout clothes (very light weight stuff). I usually weighed the same or more on Wednesdays compared to the previous Saturday because of the time of day/what I was wearing.

You should try to pick a time at least once a week where you can go in with very little food and water in your belly and can wear some light clothes. Then make that day the "official"" weight in day for you and the other day you go in during the week can just be a "keeping track" day. GOOD LUCK!

  • Quote: Does anyone know if the HNS expire? I've had my shakes for about 1.5 years.

I would check the bottom/side of the box. Mine have stickers on them w/expiration dates. I've used some that were several months past the exp date & have had no problems.

Went to wi on Tues. Lost 3 lbs. Not great, but is good weight loss for me. I'm a very slow loser.
  • So Happy for You!
Congratulations!! Glad they got that prob figured out... and to think, you surpassed their min. goal BMI for you. Way to go! Enjoy the weekend.

  • Thanks for the posts about being tired the first week. I can't believe how tired I've been the last couple of days. I went and signed all my paperwork on Tuesday, I'm guessing this is pre-conditioning but all she told me was that I was to cut back on soda, eat more veggies, cut out red meat, and have protein at every meal. Oh, and drink water. She did tell me about eggs and cottage cheese for breakfast, lean protein at lunch and dinner. But that's about it.

I have my first food class tonight and I'll get my menu. I'm looking forward to having some DIRECTION. On the first morning it was hard to eat the 3 eggs ... it just seemed like a lot of food. But I had taken my vitamins first. But I was absolutely STARVING by 11 a.m. SO ... on day two I did the 3 eggs and 1/2 cup cottage cheese and THEN my vitamins. On the drive into work I was thinking I was going to get sick cause I was STUFFED. But heck ... noon came around and I wasn't starving. I had a nice lunch of grilled chicken over a spinach salad. And I easily made it to dinner for more chicken … and had what I assume to be my last serving of pasta for quite a while.
  • Quote: The chocolate pudding seems to be the lumpiest. The others are easier to mix. I use a mini-whisk to mix it. I always do this over the sink in case some "jumps" out. Sometimes it gets caked up on the whisk. I jusr shake or force the gunk out of the whisk and mix again. You must do it briskly or it will acke up. I have also found that I cannot make the chocolate pudding a day a head of time. It starts getting watery. You can find mini-whisksat most kitchen stores. Hope this helps!

I am in LOVE with the "brownie bites" You put just enough water in the double choc pudding to moisten it. Then roll it in small balls in your hand, and roll it in either 2 tbs of the dry powder you held out, or 2 tbs of the VANILLA pudding dry. It is like having a brownie for dessert and is TOO awesome! I have also tried it the other way around (with vanilla balls and coated in dry choc). You can nibble on them a long time. The best pudding BY FAR to me is the lemon chiffon! It is WONDERFUL!!
I am supposed to weigh today (I do mine myself, no center here) but since my "Aunt Flo" came to see me yesterday and i am as bloated as a water buffalo, i am going to wait until Monday. I know if i weighed today, i would be disappointed.. Everyone have a super, safe and OP Memorial Day weekend!!

  • Yay for going on Stabilization next Wed.! I will graduate to Stab. next Tuesday whether I get to my 170 goal or not. I'm very close though. I'll go WI Sat. morning and I'm hoping to be only 3 pounds away. All I know is I feel terrific and love what I've learned about food. I know I'm an emotional eater (aren't we all?) and I've learned that it was definitely a one-sided love affair. Food didn't love ME as much as I loved it. The day that I can look at food merely as fuel for my body, that is when I will have totally won the weight battle. I may never totally win it but hopefully I'll learn how to keep the cravings away and learn not to get out of control.

My hubby asked if there was going to be food at the graduation. Silly man....I told him we don't celebrate with food. We celebrate with jewelry! LOL

I love your way of thinking....jewelry is a great reward....I will have to relay that to my husband...everyone have a healthy Memorial Day Weekend...I'm so proud of you all.
  • Hello everyone! I weighed in today and lost 3.5 pounds which means that I have lost 14 pounds in the last 3 weeks!!! I am so excited! 2 people have actually already asked me if I am losing weight... I LOVE this program! It is NOT always easy (ok it is rarely easy, at least for me) BUT it is So worth it...I am getting healthy and feeling great, you can't put a price on that....I wish you all a wonderful holiday weekend...I am also proud of you all and I wish you knew how much all of your support means to me!
  • I just came from WI and am down to 200.5...exactly what my home scales show! But they did a TANITA and I've lost 2.5 pounds of muscle which is NOT good and I just don't get it. I talked to the counselor and was honest about the little things I do (liek eating 50 calories of Doritos on my taco salad, a little bit of spaghetti sauce, and such) and I really think that has cost me. For the first time today, too, I actually showed a 'small' trace of ketones and I haven't had any adjustments to the program so I think that really teaches me somethng. So I'm going to TrY to eat everything just like I should and see what happens.

Oh and I lost 13.5 inches in 2 weeks for a total of 32.5 in 6 weeks!

Anybody have a suggestion for spaghetti sauce? Has anyone tried the 'no-cook' spaghettis sauce recipe that namaste posted? I'm nervous about trying new things.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Me, I'm really doing nothing out of the ordinary, just an extra day off.
