  • hi guys-
Sorry I was away so long- been so busy. The baby is as cute as a button, she is adjusting so well, She was confused for awhile staying awake at night and sleeping during the day, China is actually exactly 12 hrs difference. But she is doing so well, the family went on vacation to North Carolina for a few days they should be back Fri. I haven't got my pics developed yet, still gotta do that, When we got home, I stayed at their house and helped them for another week, as the baby had attached to me and my sister, and thought transition would go better, if I was around until she got use to everyone else. Then It was back to work, got caught up there and then My brothers wedding was last weekend so to say the least I have been so busy. I am off tom, so will try to catch up with how evryone is doing, gotta go to bed tired. but your all in my prayers, will post tom. God Bless.Sue
  • Me Again!
I had an awesome trip to China, we saw the great wall and the Ming Tombs, which were awesome. We also went to a Jade factory- learned about Jade, and watched men carving it. We got to see alot of poor people in the baby's province in the city of Hafia. There was very little to do there. We went to the orphanage, which was really really sad, there were alot of kids, most of which will never be adopted. We found out those that are not adopted at the age of 12-13 are placed in factories making trinket stuff. They make an income of around $50 rmb a month- which is a little over $6.00 us. This keeps them in a no way out situation, where they barely can make it, and guarentees cheap labor. I have always known we have it better than any other country on the planet. But this was more confirmed then ever, with the trip to China. We are such whinners, about the most trivial stuff. People should wake up and relize how good they really have it. The baby is doing awesome will post pics soon, gotta get them developed. Short of funds!
Margie- prayers you way that you will be able to sort out what is going on.
Ez- Glad all is well in the new home, especially now that all the ladies have arrived.
Wilma- Glad your BP is back to normal. Have fun spending time with isters, I enjoyed every minute of the 3 weeks I had with mine.
Sunny- sounds like you are doing well. So nice to be missed pray all goes well with the rest of your tests. It sounds like you have been very busy.
Mitchy- pray all goes well with miquel and that you find out whats up with your friend Charlie.
M-kay- wow body massage sound awesome. Hubby's foot o.k.?
Myisha- Sorry I missed your niece usually watch news in am. prayers she continues to be doing well.

Hi to everyone else. I am sitting here listening to the problems in Israel with soldiers versus other Jews in the Gaza Strip trying to get them to leave- How sad, pray the Lord draws His people back together. Unfortunately I don't believe giving away their land to Palistinians is going to bring peace. Bible says only will come, with the coming of the Lord. Have to believe their efforts will only leave them more at odds, with each other, and the world.
On a lighter note-planning trip[ with youth on Labor Day to a water park we do this anually and it is always a blast. So am sure it will be a good time again. Gotta run and catch up on my devotions, been slacking last couple days, and need to catch up. catch ya all later. God Bless.
  • Hello
    Hello again!
Ive been gone away on holidays and busy with our 'farm' adventures.
We have the road almost driveable for a big truck to get out trailer out to the land, it has to be moved by aug 31 so the crunch is on! After we get the trailer out there we will be building an addition and a barn/shop...we will be boarding friends horses but probably not until the spring unless we find time to build the fence. We just had a friend harvest our hay and we'll get about 10 big bales Our neighbor has buffalo, some are on our land, so we might keep a few.( we need a strong fence for that though!)
Im starting my 2nd trimester now, feeling good, just a little tired sometimes.
My son is keeping me busy, he sure loves to be outside at the land!
I see you are all still doing well...I have some reading to catch up on!
Hope you are all having a good day.God Bless
    Karla
  • Hi all

Sorry, I've been MIA. I've had a bad summer cold, just feeling awful. I didn't make it to work Tuesday and Wed. and i'm here today but feverish, coughing, hacking, snotty....i'm not so good.

The Pastor is gone, no word. And Miguel has called since but no 2nd date planned and not sure i want to go out again. My gut is telling me to be careful for some reason...

Sue, glad you are back. I'm gonna try and catch up, but read that the baby is well and you had a good trip. Welcome back sweets.

Way behind at work, and motivation is out the window. But i'm doing volunteer phones tonight and filling in for someone tomorrow. Why not, i have no social life. But that's ok, i've decided (again) to concentrate on me for now.

Going to my counselor/energy healer tonight, she thinks she can help to alleviate my cold. I'm looking forward to some pampering. I have to say, when i'm sick i really get a little depressed that no one is there to get me soup or something to drink. What a baby huh!

    HI GALS

Just got home from work~~ Ron says Angie is at Home Depot and then off to the back cracker Not much new around here, daughter called from work and said her car wouldn't start when she wanted to go to lunch, she called my ex's significant other (my mechanic) (my kid's significant other step-dad?) and he told her battery probably...she got it jumped and is going to have a new one put in on the way home. Hope that is all it is. Car trouble just flat stinks!!! Doesn't it?

    MY "SUE" IS BACK!!!!

Wow! can't wait to see pictures of "our" neice! She is so lucky to have her Auntie Sue!!

I can't even imagine life in third world countries. I know we are sooo spoiled! I see a lot of poverty in our area from Mexico...but it isn't the same as "living" in it.

MICHELE ~ Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well! I know what you mean about being sick and no one there to "comfort" you....Angie just calls me a big baby Usually your instincts are correct...keep your "distance" with Miguel for the time being....just keep it on the "public dating" level for the time being.

KARLA ~ good luck with that road!

    MARYKAY What is "NEW"?

SUNNYD ~ Yessir~ I had plenty of company with Angie gone...Me, Ryan, Amanda, Ron, Summer, and Andrea...plus Zac...most nights. And of course all the knuckleheads that come by to "hang out" with my son and drink MY BEER!

I can't tell you how "NICE" it is to have my wife back...she is the biggest PAIN IN MY BUTT...but I wouldn't trade her for anyone in the world! On one hand it is nice to have all the company we have...last night's dinner included~~Me, Angie, Ryan, Amanda, Lara, Ron, Summer Dawn, and Zac...but on the other hand it is nice just to have just Angie and I for dinner!

Well, speaking of dinner...Angie just brought home two roasted chickens from the store...going to take the meat off and make chicken soft tacos for dinner! EASY!!

    Have a great FRIDAY everyone!!.........Gary
  • OH YEA! I almost forgot....I set a personal record today...I filled up my Ford F150...single tank and it cost $70.00!!!!!!!!!!! $2.81.9 a gallon here in southern California for "REGULAR".........OUCH!!
  • Hi Everyone!

My dear sweet hubby brought my computer down to the main floor and I can now be online again! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! My knee finally gave out completely and I am completely immobile - we went to the Ozarks and the kids BEGGED me to get in the pool and even though I'm 300 pounds I just wouldn't let my ugliness ruin their fun - so, I got in the pool and with the bad knee couldn't get back out. It took my hubby and another very strong man to get me out of the pool and into a wheelchair provided by the resort. They moved us from a second-floor room to a first-floor room and we stayed one more night and headed home. My cousin who is a doctor is nearly positive I will need surgery but I'm leaving that up to the orthopedic guy who I will see on Tuesday.

The kids start school tomorrow and they are SO excited! They only go a half a day and on a Friday! The teachers are scared to do anymore I guess on the first day!

Glad to hear the trip to China was good, Sue! We went to India in 1999 for our twin girls and we loved India. It sure is a wake-up call to all of us whiners that is for sure! My immobility is nothing compared to what they go through daily! Even during the surgery I'll be thankful I CAN get the knee taken care of, you know???

    Have a great weekend everyone!

  • Hello there my friends,
How wonderful to see everyone coming back... All has quieted down quite allot here. It feels wonderful! Joe & I have a quiet weekend to look forward to without any major plans except to continue to work on the projects we have started. It looks like the weather is going to cooperate with us as well. Today we are getting some much needed rain and then it's suppose to clear up again for the weekend... we don't count on the weather for anything though, so it will be a bonus if it's nice

Our neighbor Jim must be doing well... I haven't seen him in a couple days and he hasn't called. I didn't want to go over there too much - giving him some privacy & recovery rest time. I figured Joe & I will stop over this weekend together to check up on him and how he is recovering.

    *~*~*

    Sue...
it is WONDERFUL to see you back!!! What a pleasant surprise!!! Sound like the baby is adjusting well considering all the differences she has to adjust to. Wow... they went on a vacation already... did they go to show off their new little one to family and friends? Or just go to bond

That *Jade* factory sounds awesome --- Jade is so beautiful! I would have really enjoyed watching them make jewelry and carvings out of it... what an experience! As for the orphanages... the real world of what happens in China is always hard to see and read about in your post --- how very sad! I try my best each day to thank the Lord for the life I live with my hubby, family & friends - but you are right, when we live in such wealth day in and day out - we take it *ALL* for granted... like this computer and all the people I have been so BLESSED to meet... many do not have this opportunity! Thank-you for reminding me to be grateful to God for all that he has bestowed upon me Sue. (((Sue))) You are such a Dear person... thank-you for your prayers - they are treasured. I think I will worry less now about my tests and put my life in our Lord's hands...

I am soooo looking forward to seeing the pictures

    Hello Karla...
now great is it to see you back as well!! Sounds like your world is so very full!! You have allot on your plate with all that you are doing - prayers that all goes well for you! Buffalo? Do they raise them for meat? I cannot believe the Buffalo craze here... because the meat is healthier for you (leaner) then beef is! Stay well Karla... and do stop in again soon!!

    Michele...
I'm sorry to hear that you had a cold... hope that you are doing better today! Summer colds can be the worse!! Feel better soon... (((Michele)))

    Gary...
you are so very blessed to have so many loved ones... enjoy... enjoy... as I know you do! I bet it does feel great to have Angie back!! (Hi Angie!!! ) Bet while she was gone you just dealt with it, but now that she is back (with your furry kids) it's like it hits you ---"I really missed her!" You are so adorable! You two enjoy one anothers company and cherish it

As usual... your dinner sounds wonderful! Tonight I am making baked turkey breast breaded with a paramnesia cheese mixture, sweet corn on the cob & a tossed salad with fresh tomatoes & basil... yummmm

OMGosh!!! And I thought the gas prices were bad here!!! We are still at $2.65 a gal. for REG here.

    Lori...
I am so sorry to hear about your knee and all the pain you are dealing with --- I do hope that you see a Dr soon... it's nothing to mess around with sweeite. *Prayers*

    *~*~*

Hope that this post finds everyone doing well...
please know that you are *ALL* in my thoughts and in my prayers!

    *Smiles*

  • Hi there-
Karla- I am so glad all is well. It will be much nicer when your trailer is moved . It will be neat having your own buffalo. Just think almost half way there. Have you decided on a name yet, do you know whether the baby is a boy/girl, just curious. Prayers all continue to go well, and get some rest.
Mitchy- Thanks! So sorry to hear your not feeling well, that is a bummer. You have to listen to your gut, often there is a reason we get those feelings. Your motivation will improve when you feel better!
lori- so sorry to hear about your knee prayers that your soon on the mend, that is a bummer being restricted to a w/ch. Prayers that your ortho- is able to easily repair it, and recovery will be quick. Wow! you adopted twin girls from India, what a special lady that those two children got to stay together, and know each other. God bless!
Sunny- Thanks again! They had very close friends move to N. Carolina, with job. They had been neighbors for years, and their kids were very good friends, so it was both to see friends, bond as family, and show baby off. I try to put it all in the Lord's hands, we worry to much which shortens our life, and joy.
E.Z.- Thanks! Hey any kid would be very blessed to have you as an uncle. I'll get a pic up soon of your new niece she is a cutie. Speaking of uncle how is your nephew doing. ANGIE A PAIN IN THE BUTT- NEVER She probably has a pain from keeping you under wraps that is a big job! So happy to hear you guys are enjoying your new home, and the family got time to visit. always important.Wow $70. and I am complaining about $30.We are still very blessed.

  • I am now a mother-in-law!
Hi everyone! I just wanted to come here for a second to share with you that we have had a fantastic weekend. The wedding and reception went off without a hitch. We had so much fun. I was still a little stressed Saturday morning but by the time the wedding roled around I was really getting excited. The ceremony was lovely and the reception was a lot of fun. I'll send pics as soon as I can.

Today the couple is coming over and opening gifts and then their married life begins. We still have a lot of family around and are just relaxing and visiting. It's been great!
  • Good Morning Ladies~

Well, almost back to normal here...Ryan off to teach second week of high school history and government, Amanda off to do her research, Lara off to first day of "senior" year, and I just dropped Ron off for his first day of 10th grade. I will head to work in a bit....
Angie is still off until later this week.

Most of the time here lately has been watching Little League World Series games, our local team ...the WEST team, is doing pretty good right now...alot of excitement around here.

WILMA~ So happy the wedding went well!

    Prayers for all, GARY
  • hi all!
    Hi all!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! My weekend was uneventful, worked Sat. took a nap, watched Cops and AMW, the usual for a Sat. Sunday i kind of hibernated but it was nice to get stuff done around the house. Also, made a big step for me, started calling about finding somewhere else to live. Going to a place tonight to share a house. Would share it with a guy, in his 50's. Seemed OK on the phone, will meet him tonight and bringing Simba with me. I'm being careful, don't worry...

Wilma, glad the wedding went well! Can't wait to see pics.

    No call from Miguel....whatever...

    HI GALS

HI ladies...not much to say so Angie says to send the frittata recipe - the one she just made...that was delicious!

This recipe made two large frittatas, enough to feed my family of 6 with some leftover. I have to cook this in two large skillets or else it is too thick and won't cook properly.

12 eggs beaten in a large bowl
    1/2 onion chopped
    1 bag of baby spinach
1 can of diced tomatoes seasoned with basil, oregano, & garlic (drained)
    1 4-oz pkg feta cheese
Saute onions in olive oil until soft, add spinach and cook until wilted.
Add all indredients to beaten eggs. Cook over stove in large skillet sprayed with "Pam" until bubbling. I then put it under the broiler to cook the top.
Slice it up and serve with warm bread, salad, or whatever you want.
This is an easy dinner and it it filling!
    .
  • Gary, did you mean a can of diced tomatoes, drained? It sounds yummy! Does the feta melt or you could probably use any kind of cheese, huh?
