  • Quote: LC are you adopting a puppy?
No no no... it's a real BABY! She needs CLOTHES for it.

Laurie, don't you just want Jennifer Garner's body? Well, maybe not quite so thin, but boy, does she look strong!
I'm glad you had a cozy evening, hon... you needed that.
What's with the cheesecake, sweetie? Get it out of the house! FLUSH IT!!
  • Morning everyone!

I just wanted send a quick hello to you all before going to work. I hope that everyone has a great day today. Be careful in the snow for those you that have to deal with it today. I wish I could get more motivated, like you ladies, to exercise. I woke up feeling so fat and bloated today. I'm not sure what I did overnight to gain any weight...other than dreaming of smothered burritos and margaritas...j/k. I feel like I've screwed up or something because my pants should be fitting a lot better, but I have been very faithful. Oh well, I'm sure it's just water weight. Take care everyone!
  • Hey chicks Ellis and Beach just to clear this up. We are getting a baby and it is a four legged not a two legged, he is a little boy and just a small mutt that will only be around 15 pounds in weight. I can't wait I am not sure who is more excited me or the girls. I would however like to have another baby but unless I get a new husband who has not been fixed it is not going to happen. Although DH and I talked about adoption but that is as far as it has gone. Well I must go again we are totally snowed in and the snow does not seem to want to let up, I only have two little ones left. I can't believe that their mom did not get off as they have pretty much shut down the whole city. well gotta run be back later.
  • Good Morning!

Well, it looks like another boring day here today. The sun is shining and is supposed to be a little cooler than yesterday. I couldn't believe it was in the 80's!!!! It's supposed to cool down this weekend. Mom wants to have a girls night out tomorrow that I'm not sure if I want to go to. She wants to go to one of my favorite local restaurants that would be somewhat hard to stay OP. I'll have to really think about it. Sunday, I have a bridal show which is always hard to stay OP (especially because we have chocolates that we give out) but this time I am determined. I'm planning on packing some food even though it's really hard to eat. Nothing more professional than a wedding planner scarfing down food at her booth and talking to couples about what she does . It doesn't make the best first impression!

Mama-I LOVE Phantom! I haven't seen the movie yet but I did see the stage version at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. It was absolutely incredible. Even DH loved it and he's not a fan of opera (although neither am I). There is just something about that music....

LC-Can't wait to see pics of your new baby!

Cottage-I have one of those black thumbs but have kept alive my one plant for several years now. DH would probably let it die if I wasn't there...although he does take good care of the palms in the backyard. Thanks for the pizza recipe...can't wait to try it!

Chipper-Water is a wonderful thing! I usually have at least 72 oz. of water a day. I constantly carry it around with me. Scary to hear about your DS and your van. Tell DH to hurry and get his car fixed so you don't have to worry about your van!

Bups-You can do it! You just need to get yourself back on track!

Jenn-I'm a Tae Bo fanatic (although I haven't been doing it this month). I have tons of the videos (the LIVE Advanced series ROCKS!) so I can switch up my workouts. I need to get back to them because they are serious motivators! That's the only video workout that I will do and stick with for longer than a few weeks. I never get tired of them!

Ruth-Glad to hear Hershey is home and slowly getting back to herself. Give her a scratch for all of us! Those 5 minutes on the treadmill will turn to 10 then 20 then 30 then...who knows? Maybe an hour? Once you get into a routine it's not so bad.

Barb-My nephew is going through that "wetting the bed" stage. He's gotten much better at it but every once in awhile, my sister has to go clean up after him.

Amb Lyn-You got through the temptations the other night.....you can do it again!!!!!

Geekchic-Welcome to the daily! You'll find the book to be a great help!

Laurie-Yay for trying to get back to exercising ! You just need to get rid of the cheesecake now. When you really want that piece of cheesecake, drink some water and wait a good 20 minutes. You've done so well and I don't think any of us want to see you regress! You've been such an inspiration to a lot of us and we know you can do it!

Everyone else: Have a great OP day!
  • New Here
Hello all. I hope it is OK that I post here. Let me introduce myself. My name is Kelly. I am 33 years old (will be 34 in March) I was born in Pennsylvania but have lived in North Carolina for the last 18+ years. I have been married for 9 years and we have (1) adopted little girl named Rayney who is 4 years old ( I could not give birth). We also have a very obnoxious Jack Russell Terrior - he is my firstborn - spoiled rotten - just like Rayney.

I have been a "lurker" for the last few days and have finally decided post here. I am on SBD again - have been on it before and lost 37 puonds - but have gained it all back and then some. Want to get back down to about 130-135.

When I was on it before, I didn't look for any support. But this time - I'm going to need it as I get discouraged easily lately . I am also a recovering alcoholic. I have been clean and sober for five months (which is why I have gained the weight. All I do is eat now) . This site looks like the best - most supportive I have come across.

So - there's me in the Readers Digest Version. I am open to any suggestions anyone has.

PS - If I am on the wrong "post" - please let me know so I don't interrupt you guys. THanks
  • Kelly, welcome to the Beach! Yes, you're in the right spot... everyone is welcome here!
Congratulations on staying sober for so long... that is a wonderful accomplishment!

Little Chick... I knew it was a dog... just teasing Laurie.
  • Cottagebythesea... Yes I am finally feeling better! Thanks for asking!

Rayneysmom... Welcome to the sand! We are glad you found us!

    Hey I want some snow!

Ruth... Glad to hear Hersh is doin well.

Well I guess I better go find some lunch I'm starting to feel hungry. Take care all!
  • *~* Welcome to the beach Kelly *~*
  • Thanks for the support, chicks! The cheesecake is in the freezer and it's going to stay there until I can get some control over it. If not, I'm giving DH permission to eat the lot!

Kelly, welcome! Congrats on 5 months of recovery...that is fantastic!!! I know what you mean about eating...I've been in OA since I started this journey and usually I just eat my fingernails! I don't know if you've ever checked out OA but if AA is working for you, OA might help too. You can find out more at www.oa.org
  • Welcome Kelly.

Just cruising by while on my way to get dinner started. Since I eat before DH & DS get home. (DH at 10, DS at 7:30). No big hurry, not real hungry tonight. Tring the almond chicken dish I found here this morning. Well, looks like DS will have my van again tomorrow. DH said it will take hours to fix, so has to wait until weekend. Being a courier he just puts so many miles on it. He is now looking to buy another car. Since he was smashed between the 2 SUV's in Oct, his car is having so many problems, these are things no one would have known until they didn't work. So, will be car shopping again. We just went through this when he bought this car. He had only had it 3 weeks before the accident. He loved his little car. Life's curve balls keeps hitting this poor kid. There goes his savings for moving out.
Boy, this cold weather keeps up I am going to build me a bonfire here on the beach.
Time to go start my chicken. Having green beans and sweet potatoes with it. Haven't had any starch today. Have drank most of my 64 oz of water. Will finish that tonight. Before 7 or I am up a few times during the night. Hate having to get out of my nice warm bed for that.
  • Well I am checking in again at the end of my work day. I took my whole lunch to drive to a store that I could swear would have the SBD book, but nope they didn't! They had the cookbook and the Good/Bad Carbs book. So I gave up and ordered it on good old Amazon.com. It will arrive Monday. Meanwhile I am going to sit down in the next few days and plan my first week on SBD. I really can't wait!
  • I'm late at getting to this...but I just wanted to say a quick hello!! I actually went to work and made it today! My dad took me in since he has the 4 wheel drive....It snowed again....and I bought my car!! Now I'll just be broke the next 5 yrs......sigh......but I love the car...so I guess I can just deal with it....welcome to the real world I suppose....How was everyone's day on the beach....sounds like you all were busy...I hope you all stayed warm...I tried!
  • Thanks for the warm welcome all. Laurie, I have never tried OA. Maybe it would help. Don't particularly like the taste of fingernails - but I guess with some salt and pepper they might be palatable .

It is 34 degrees here today. Very damp and cold. We were supposed to get snow last night but only ended up getting rain and snow mix. slush - hate it.
I miss the good snows we used to get in PA. In NC - it snows one day and the next it is gone. No time to play . It is supposed to be nasty this weekend here. Sleet, freezing rain and snow. Kelly does not drive in ice. Snow is OK - actually fun - but ice is a .

Well, I guess I'll get back to work. Check in later. Have a great day all
