  • As a fellow daily weigher and graph lover I can honestly say that the thing that keeps me going is tracking my most recent low weight. So I'm 192 today? I don't care any more. I know it's water weight. I know it's not a regain. It's a perfectly normal fluctuation, been there, done that, seen it all before on the graph. If your graph starts heading back up over time, sure, do something about that. But! You may have already dropped into the 180s but just not weighed yourself at that particular time of day.

You ARE the most recent lowest weight you got. A few lbs of water hitching along for the ride don't mean a thing! It changes nothing

As you know, you can now look forward to it dropping down again before too long, and when it does, we'll be in the 180s thread to welcome you!

I love this attitude! I absolutely MUST weigh myself right after waking up every morning. I don't obsess about the number so much as I just like to know and graph it to track and look for patterns.
  • Mozzy, another daily weigher here, so I know that I gain 3-5 pounds every single time I get on an airplane. It is definitely water weight. Be forewarned, if you have to fly home, it make take you a few days after to lose the weight.

Thanks so much for starting this thread too! Perfect timing for me. I was FREAKING OUT this morning when I got on the scale and was up 2 in spite of being absolutely perfectly 100% on plan. I calmed myself down reminding myself how salty the miso soup I had last night was, then I immediately freaked because I'm going out of town today and will be away from my scale for 3 days. I have a good plan for while I'm away, but I still worry... I'm just barely back in the saddle and it's harder for me to weather the scale bounces when I haven't yet seen the payoff of smaller sizes etc.

Fortunately, I have you guys to serve as reminders that this is a long process and patience is required.
  • I have a lot of different scales lying around my house... And even have 2 wifi scales now... So I don't even have to bother writing anything down or even remembering the number when I'm still half asleep when I hop on it first thing in the morning... Everything just goes straight to my computer, iPad, and my iPhone... So it's all there to look at whenever.... But it never occurred to me to take one my scales with me when I'm traveling.... And I had never seen something like that travel scale that IanG posted... Hum? This thread has got me thinking now...
