Honestly, I put about 1oz or less of 1 or 2 percent milk in my coffee. I talked to my coach about it and decided that it was right for me. It is absolutely my only deviation from the plan though and I would not recommend it to everyone. My reasoning- I have only one cup a day. I am a vegetarian, so I get very little fat from my fake meat meal (way less than real meat). I was not going to buy another container of milk for the house- son drinks whole milk, husband drinks 1 or 2 %. I was buying coffee out and using skim for the first week and just hated drinking my coffee and also hated spending $ daily for coffee out. I tried using the vanilla shake and it made me want to puke. I hate any sweetness in my coffee.. never put sugar in it.. Again, this is a choice I made to purposefully alter the plan for myself with the approval of my coach.. not for everyone. And if I notice my weight loss lagging then I may switch back.
Well I drink a cup a day black. I've never used or liked sugar but I loaded it up with cream. If you want to change your weight you need to change what you put in your mouth. Ditch the milk. Drink good tea and you will not need the milk as much. It will have a different taste but you will get used to it. You could also use cinnamon to change the flavor. Sometimes I drop an ice cube or two in my cup or add some water to cool it off.
I too love my coffee. I thought i would have a terrible time switching up the milk but i now use EAS vanilla as my substitue and i've come to adapt to it. One tetra pack does me about 3 days for coffee and i've been consistently losing.
I've also just bought, from the online Low carb Grocery Store, 'Dixie Diners' FF Dairy Free "Creme It"...it's a soy (tofu) fiber powder mix. Haven't tried yet but thought i might this weekend.
serving size is 1.5 tbsp mixed with 8-10 oz water (can add flavouring if you want)
