  • Yay - 2.2 down!! I also corrected my tracker to reflect that it is 20 lbs by Halloween - for some reason I had it set at 25 (wishful thinking I guess )
  • Way to Lose, Rho!
Great job, Rho! You're on your way to Halloween Hotness!

I'm a little scared to weigh; I had a white wine spritzer last night and another club soda...sodium, alcohol = water retention = puffy fingers. Yikes. Must be brave and head off to the scales. I weigh at my doctor's office 'cause I refuse to have a scale in my house.

LOL. No hotness but better than where I am now or was in the beginning - I'll be close to where you started by Halloween - which is why I only do 5 lb goals on my main tracker - if I look at the total I need to lose it will scare my pants off

I have NO energy today - haven't slept more than 5 hours in two days....when I finish this cup of coffee I am going to get out my timer and do 5 minutes at a time of what I want to work on today with 15 minutes reading or knitting in between - at least something will get done..

Ugh on water retention - I'm a bit obsessed with weighing myself right now - I do it every morning - I'm going to try to do every other day soon - I would love to get to once a week then twice a month then once a month then only go by clothes that are tight - but right now I need the reminder of why I am doing this and proof that this works - and I'm learning my weight loss trends -
    If that makes sense....
  • Coooool! I'm in
Thanks sandyfanny for starting this, i want to lose eaxactly 20 pounds it's good to find pple with the same goal in mind.

    We can do itttt!

i guess i'll check for my weight today and post it. Cheers!
  • Oops...big surprise. I drove to my doctor's office only to discover that it's "Closed for Repairs" Aug. 4 - 8. Who knew? That's no bueno! So I guess I have to weigh in on Tuesday? I can't think of another place to weigh in; I live in a really little tourist/fishing town - no gyms or weight loss businesses handy to "borrow" their scales.

That's not so good. I need a weigh in to keep me on track. I'll think some more; maybe I'll come up with a place to weigh?

Good luck on your weigh in, everyone!
  • Sandy this month I envy you your small tourist area - I live in a small tourist/fishing/farming community that gets crazy in the summer and August is the craziest. And it is expensive too boot - if you type in "The "The Hamptons" in google you can get an idea what it is like ... This week is a huge concert thing at the Reservation, next week is a huge concert at the local airport a few towns over, then there is a huge horse show and the Pow Wow along with all the polo games, charity things, gallery openings, movie premieres, and other functions going on for summer - along with the beach draw and party places ... Basically locals do what needs to be done mid week and stay home on weekends lol The concert thing this weekend is escape2ny check it out online - it's the first year and will be interesting to see how it makes out. It's a fantasy/concert/artsy event..

If you can't weigh in till Tuesday make sure to check in here in the morning to keep you motivated and at night to let us know how the day went - it will help get you thru till Tuesday if you are like me ...
  • Good job rho!
I'm down 2 this week also.
  • Great job, Startanew! Two pounds closer to your goal! And welcome, Happygirl5! Glad you've joined us.

Thank you, Rho. I've never been to The Hamptons, but it's such a famous travel destination. Wow! My daughters went to a wedding in the Hamptons in June and stayed in a huge, grand (but definitely tattered) mansion on the water. Amazing!

I appreciate the encouragement to stay motivated and keep me going until Tuesday. Every day is a battle this time around, but I'm in it to win it.

    Have a great weekend, everyone.
  • Looks like we're all moving along well. AWESOME TEAM! We're the halloween hot potatties! OK, well, hotter potatties! We should get Tshirts. (ok, maybe not, but seriously, way to go).

I've persevered in spite of a bad stressful situation. I do much better with routines than this archaic place I'm living now. I've stayed mostly to my plan - with a few off plan bites and a few sodas. I've counted carbs most days - even if loosely in my head. And in the end - I've lost 3.1 lbs. I didn't weigh today, but that is my most recent weight. I call it working. If I can just make the stress vamoose! Maybe that should be my next little goal - find something small to cut the stress. A small thing. Hmmm, research to do, game on!
  • I would like to join too! I need a little motivation to lose weight. It's a perfect time since I started Atkins on August 1st and this started August 1st. I would love to lose 20 lbs by Halloween! I'm in induction and I have lost 4.6 lbs as of yesterday.

    Good luck to all!!!

  • Welcome and Congratulations, Windycity! You're workin' an awesome induction!

I'm so glad you've joined us. Have a great weekend.
  • Count me in. I really need to shed off 20 pounds. I should hit goal weight by Halloween *cross fingers*
  • Welcome, Goob! Glad you're joining us!
  • Welcome to everyone who joined recently - we are going to do this!

Sandy, believe me, we live on the other side of the tracks from the people you hear about in the Hamptons. I worked for a Chiropractor and hubby worked for the phone company ... Which Hampton was your daughter staying in - a lot of the older mansions are shabby chic - not because of stlye but because they have been in a family for so long and they don't change what works and they like the tradition of the place. But if someone new buys it the old places are torn down and a McMansion is put up love the older homes over the new modern ones ...
  • Rho, I'm not sure exactly where this place is in the Hamptons. It wasn't shabby chic - it was "Shabby Strange." There was a set of dentures on the dining room table and dirty clothes in the bathroom...old dirty clothes. Sort of "Spooky Shabby Strange" actually. And it was crazy expensive!
