Geo Do y ou go Geocaching? My DH and I are getting into that!!

Yes, we do! We are doing a series right now where you have to find at least 6 special caches in each of 10 counties. Each cache has a stamp that you use to stamp a book they give you. Once you collect at least 6 stamps from each county you get a gold medallion from each county and another medallion for the entire series. We have 2 counties to go.

KO- Where in PA does your mom live? We are way up north in PA.

The series we're doing is called the Allegheny GeoTrail. The 10 counties all have land in the Allegheny National Forest. The program was supposed to end last year, but was so popular that they extended it until June 30th. We have really enjoyed it. I don't know why they'd want to end it. It draws quite a bit of tourism to rural areas. We discovered a really nice restaurant Friday while we were out and will stop by again when we're in that area.

When we are done with this one, we are going to start a program that NY has started (we're right on the PA/NY border). Their program involves one cache in each town of a county. You receive wooden nickels for those caches.

We've gotten 2 of our 5 kids interested in geocaching. The other 3 don't seem to have much interest.
