  • Morning Chicks! Another rainy day here but supposed to clear by afternoon!

Love zucchini! Noticed this morning I have 2 that need to be picked this evening, debating on what to do with them!

Catch up day at work. Scales are being much nicer to me since my total disaster of a weekend. You can tell yourself a million times it's mostly water but somehow it just doesn't matter when you see that higher number.

    Have a great day ladies!
  • Schmoodle your evenings by the pool sound so nice. As far as being pregnant my time is only when God blesses me. Dh and I have talked about adopting being as there are so many children out there already who need aloving home. Hope you get to catch up on your sleep tonight

Heather glad you enjoyed your dinner - it sounds delish

Good for you Nessa on getting that workout done
  • Ruth: We were in the same boat as you this morning...ran the a/c all night and it was freezing this morning. (I'm sure I'll appreciate it in a few months when freezing is the norm. Have a good day doggy-visiting with Disney. I hope all goes well. Our favorite thing to do with zucchini is to slice it into 1/2" slices, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with a mixture of parmesan cheese, italian herbs (typically dried), garlic powder, salt, pepper and some cayenne sometimes for a kick. Bake at 350* until golden brown and crispy. Mmmmm....good!

Cat: Interesting recipe. I'll have to try it when I hit maintenance. Hope your soreness has worked itself out. Is the drive to BR for fun or for necessity? Either way, I hope it's nice.

Cottage: Sorry about your procedure coming up. I take it you've had one before? I can't say that I have, but after going through the process with DH, I'm fairly sure you'll get through it fine. You're a tough woman. (Not like DH who is a pretty little girl when it comes to that type of medical "investigation". )

Cyndi: Hope the doc is able to figure everything out. Dizzy spells can really be scary. We're in summer-squash overload right now. I can only eat it for breakfast and dinner in the same day. Luckily the picking season is short enough that we don't get too tired of it.

rebel: Congrats on getting through the Bday party!

Jessie: I'll have to try your zucchini method. Probably takes less time than mine. Hope the glucose results come quick!

Gonna: I just think it's weird they told you that you should do that without giving a reason for suggesting it. Hope it all gets straightened out.

Nessa: Sorry about the scale. Could it be a boost in muscle mass?

Schmoodle: Hope you get some sleep tonight. I think I'd kill DH if he woke me up with the tv at 2:30! Get some rest.

hmacneil: Wow-how great that your DMV takes appointments! Ours doesn't, but that still doesn't mean that there's ever a line. (With 7,000 people in the entire county, I'm sure they probably have days when not a single person comes in!) Enjoy your day and good luck packing!

thunder: Don't you hate not getting your workout in before the day starts? I love that I can cross it off my list for the day. Then anything I do after work is just a bonus!

Me: Well, we got home from work last night only to find a 3 foot wide by 4 foot deep trench in front of our driveway. The city is bringing our water infrastructure up to code. So, that was expected. What was unexpected was that they cut our phone lines so we have no internet and the two elderly couples that live on our side of the street have NO phones. We're fine with just our cell phones, but what if they have to call 911 in the next few days? It was clearly a mistake on their part and the phone company will be here "by Friday". What a pain.

But, on a good note, we both liked The Hulk and I was able to make some jewelry after the movie to sell, so hopefully there will be some more income coming in from that.

Well, off to work for the day! Hope everyone to come has a nice Wednesday!

    ~Kim
  • Stephanie: I'm with you on the water weight thing. I went through the same thing this past weekend and I'm so glad I'm back to where I was before. Hope you get caught up!
  • Hi I'm here only swamped! I still have to update the exercise thread
  • Kim - you do know we have to see pictures of the jewelry?!
  • Quote: Kim - you do know we have to see pictures of the jewelry?!

Sure! I'll have to wait until the internet is back up at home as that's where most of the pics of my jewelry are stored, but here's one piece that I brought to work today. This is going to be sent to my partner in an online craft swap.

  • Hey everybody!

Just popping in real quick while I'm waiting for some signs to print for work. After a long weekend out of town, I'm back on the wagon. I've missed eating healthy actually. I get so sick of fast food on the road. Blech.

So with a house full of healthy things to eat, I'm going to eat it up and be good. I'm trying to do the "only eat when you're hungry" thing, which everyone knows is a hard thing for me to do, as I'm a bottomless pit and love how everything tastes. Gonna eat up the leftover WW spaghetti from last night for dinner tonight.

Well, almost done printing so I need to make like a baby. Hope you girls are all doing well! Missed ya!

    Lisa

I thought this said "I need to make a baby." !
  • rebel - Glad the party went well. I'm going to try to get on my email and catch up on the kids.

The court counselor came this morning. She looked over the entire house and yard (even in every closet) and visited with the cats to make sure they weren't dangerous creatures. She had a lot of nice stuff to say about how much space my 2000 sq ft house has and she visited with Brian about his Lego models and stuff. I'll go see her in her office in two weeks where she will tell me any concerns and then I can respond to them.

She was supposed to visit with Robert this afternoon but he called her yesterday and cancelled. I guess the family he is living with is having issues and he will have to reschedule. I think they just don't want to be interviewed but I don't know. I told her that I thought he was possibly trying to get an apartment. She said he could still get overnights with a one bedroom depending on how it was set up. He cancelled his visit with Brian tonight which doesn't surprise me. I did mentioned that he has cancelled 5 out of the last 7 visits just so she would know.
  • Barb - how stressful. Is it common for a court counselor to inspect your house like that? I've never heard of it with my friends that are divorcing.

I hope your ex gets his act together for your son's sake.

Jessie- My neighbor gave me a little lecture about bringing the baby into the world too early just to get a tax deduction....but I swear that wasn't the reason. It was just the only day the doctor had an opening...and he wasn't willing to do it on December 25 if he didn't have to.

I've been living a sbd phase 3 almost solely since I got pregnant. It has all the necessary nutrients and is very healthy. It keeps me away from fast food and ice cream - although I haven't completely stayed away from ice cream.

I hope they are successful in finding out the sex *crosses fingers* I know it is rather early though.
  • Yikes, Barb! I think if anyone came to decide if my kids should stay based on the state of my closets and how nice my cats are, I'd be in big trouble! Bizarre how these things are suddenly important when there is a divorce. I'm sure you passed with flying colors anyway, and your ex is certainly not setting the bar too high.

    Kim, pretty!
  • Texas doesn't always do family visits but if they do it for one spouse then they have to do it for the other one. They have to interview every person that the child might live with which means the husband, wife, 14 year old daughter and 11 year old son that Robert is living with. A family visit is easier than dragging them all to downtown Dallas. And while they do have a beautiful house, it will let her see how big the dogs are that live there (one of which is afraid of males) and the fact that Brian would be sharing a room with Raphael.

Believe me, just a week ago my house was a mess! I've spent a LOT of time going through boxes and surfaces and hiding what was left after I trashed a lot. Then I took the easy way out with the maid service for a one time cleaning. I don't know if she needed Brian to be here but it was nice that he got to show her his stuff. The closets weren't perfect but I was less worried about them. And she finished just in time for me to take Brian to day care for his field trip to do Tai Kwan Do.
  • well, doctor said i can slowly get back to exercising as long as i have no pain or persure in the area. after he asked what the other doc said about. didn't tell him i had been doing the wii fit. but i knew i had to watch it. second doc on the 25th and treadmill here i come. i have missed you!!!!
  • Barb - you are an incredibly strong person. I'm not sure that I could have been so calm about the situation. Like Zeff said, I hope your ex gets his act together so that your ds and him have a good relationship as he grows up. Hang in there and know you're already doing a great job!

Kim - Very pretty! Thanks for sharing.
