  • Good Sunday morning!

Went to Church this a.m. - first time since Christmas. Managed to get through everything but sure was not up for singing or reading.

In the middle of yesterday morning's meeting, I got a phone call from the family who bought one of Hershey's pup. They were coming through town and wanted to stop in for a puppy playgroup. They stayed for lunch (thank God for my stocked freezer!) and we watched two pups and Mum play until after 5. Hershey and Lucy were fast asleep by 9. A fun day!

I am going to the gyn doc tomorrow for the results of the D&C - am a bit pissed off that my "in two weeks" appointment didn't happen until a month later! However, guess his office needed a break too. I am anticipating positive results but expect him to change my hormone medication. In the p.m. I go to the chest guy about this pneumonia - feeling better but still pretty congested so expect another type of medication. What a heck of a way to spend a day!

Nothing happening today. I am paying some bills and doing bank reconcilations. Only out $1008.17 on the Fair Board Account! Duh! I am such a button counter, I will find it. A nap is definitely on the agenda for this afternoon.

Enjoy the rest of the day.
  • Sooner-too funny about the Rams...I told DH (who is for Oakland) that I was certain that the Rams were going all the way!!!!! I will be right there with you rooting for them.!!!!!!
  • Talking about low carbs... I am a full time student and I usually pack a sandwich for lunch on whole grain bread (2 slices) and I eat this 5 times a week. Is that hurting my diet? Any alternatives to packing a fast lunch in the morning that is high in protein and low in carbs?
  • Good day all! Stayed up late after work last night, had a beer and a bag of micro popcorn, so it was a bit tough to get up for shurch this am, but we made it...kids are just finishing up lunch and then I think we will go do some sledding and out door type stuff....I 'm on days off so happy, happy! Hubby is watching the football game and is going for Green Bay....talk to you all later! Liz in Canada where the warm winds blow, and where the heck is the snow?????
  • Hi--Quick post to tell you I am still alive. The doctor diagnosed-sinus infection, ear infection, laryngitis and of course eye infection as well. He put me on Augmentin, but didn't give me anything for my eyes--said the antibiotic I was taking would do it and to use Visine. I have always been given antibiotic drops for this in the past (you tend to get it when you teach little kids) The eyes were worse today, but when my DH called he still said No Drops. I have already decided to not go to school tomorrow. I feel terrible, and can't talk so what would be the point? Hope this goes away soon I have a busy week ahead. Eating has been so/so--not eating a lot, but not necessarily good choices cuz I have to eat what will go down. Hope it doesn't screw up my progress!

    Take care everyone!

PS--I have to add Go PACKERS!! I grew up in WI and have been a Packer fan since probably conception. My DS and I are the lone Packer fans in a sea of Bear and Ram fans down here. I do enjoy the Rams too--have even been to one of their games--great fun, but Brett Favre and crew have my heart! Let the fun begin!
  • Hi there, Chicks
I haven't posted here for a while because I've just been swamped with my office duties, trying to get year end stuff ready for our accountant. One of the joys of a home-based business...NOT.
I also now belong to three WW on-line support groups and it's hard keeping up with all their posts. But, I never want to neglect my pals here in low carb because you're all so terrific. Nice to see some new faces here too.
Ruth and AddoAnnie, I hope you feel better soon. No fun being under the weather.
I gained about 4 lb over the holidays and have now lost about half of it. I don't think a 4 lb gain was too bad considering what I was stuffing down my gullet. I finally got rid of all the goodies in the house and I'm trying to plan my meals a little better. I definitely lose better and feel better when I keep the carbs lower than the standard WW menus. They have become more flexible in this regard and have sample menus for high and low carb days. Of course their low carb days are still much higher than you'd have on Atkins, PP or even CALP, I think. Whatever works and makes me feel good though, right?
Hope you're all having a nice Sunday.
