Congratulations Dance for working hard to achieve your exercise goal!

Everybody here has inspired me to set an exercise goal for myself next week!

Good for you, Sarah! Are you going to share with us what it is?

I am disappointed though... as I have really felt this past week or so that I should have EASILY been getting over 10,000 steps but was hanging in at around 8,000 or 9,000. Well today when I walked over 3 miles I had 9500... but it should have been over 10,000 for that. THEN I went to the grocery store and did a bunch of stuff at home... and had 9800! Hey! No way! So I counted 80 steps around the house and got... NOTHING! My pedometer is not working right!! I know I had at LEAST 13,000 steps today so I am going to count it as that and go tomorrow to the store nearby and get a cheapie until I can get another good one.

Yay, Sarah! Lots of things to choose from -- have fun!

Oooo Dance, that's not right. 3 miles plus groceries should have put you well over 10k, easily. Did something happen to your pedo? That doesn't sound right at all. Could you have accidentally hit the reset button, maybe by lying on it or sitting on it?

That's got to be frustrating.

If all else fails, you can send it back, with proof of purchase and shipping and handling. I'd send or keep a copy of proof of purchase, just in case.

Actually Lena my pedo is pretty old... and LOL last week I dropped it on a hard floor and it quit working. So I dropped it again on purpose and it started working. But then I dropped it AGAIN LOL (it was falling off my pants) and the case broke in half and it is held together with a rubber band. I think it is time for a new one! And it wasn't THREE miles... that was EACH way so it was SIX miles I walked plus the groceries and other stuff!

Also I didn't order it... bought it locally but the store will only take things back if you have the receipt OR you are a member there, for which you have to pay and I won't LOL. Anyway it is past its time. <G> And I am aware now that this brand is NOT the kind to buy as they have a reputation for quitting on you.

Congratulations Dance! I hope you know that you and your step ticker are an inspiration for ME. Six miles is definitely a tough job and a sweet accomplishment... I did three yesterday and wanted to die when I got home!

Happy Sunday all!

Hi Lala

Hey three is great! Remember it is not a contest, but we are all in this together. And LOL if you could see how I have been hobbling around here after the six miles you would not be so impressed. It was all I could do to go to the grocery store yesterday LOL.

One thing for me when I walk that far... I get home and there I am... facing the THREE flights of stairs to get up to my apartment LOL.

Yeah, I'm going to set myself a goal of 210 minutes of exercise this week, which will work out at an average of 30mins per day. However I'm not going to include my walks to work and back which are already an hour per day of brisk walking.

Oh my gosh six miles! Dance that is amazing! Yes, you are quite inspiring, I may be changing/fixing my exercise goals for this week too, though I don't think I have the stamina you have, that is very impressive. Six miles is nothing to scoff at, even if you were a little shakey at the end. I hope you keep doing it every week, it will be fun for you to see how much better you get at it.

Thanks Miles! I was disappointed that my pedometer didn't register nearly all of my steps... but hey, I got me a new one now.

Excellent, I've been thinking about getting one but I can't quite settle in on one I trust or decide it's worth the purchase. Let us know how that 6 miles goes next week

Oh it is definitely worth the purchase! I would not have chosen this Oregon Scientific one as it is hard to open but it was only $15 and has the clock which is nice for me when I walk at lunch hour. But I wanted one right away so went ahead and got it.

LOL I don't know that I will walk the 6 mile one next week!!! Usually if I go out on Saturday I go before daylight and stay on the well lighted, safe through highway nearby. Actually that is probably close to 6 miles round trip too though but much easier walking.
