Teri,
I am new and I find it amazing that despite all that you have been through that you have such an amazing attitude. I am an RN and currently work in a float pool all over the hospital...but my specialty is Breast Ca and reconstructions...Meds can play a big part in weight...so don't beat yourself up! YOU ARE AMAZING! Everyday you WILL get stronger..in body and mind!

I just saw a news story this evening that they are working on gradually strength training women who are at risk for lymphedema - very very slowly and gradually - it is a study at some hosptial here in Philly... If I hear more of this Teri - I shall let you know!

Allie - I need to talk to you. I am getting ready for reconstruction - had my surgery scheduled for March 14th and just found out my plastic surgeon is not on my insurance plan. I have an appointment with another plastic surgeon on Monday, February 6th. I was hoping to keep the same date, but we will see. My mom had the tram flap surgery done 3 years ago and I remember what she went through - she looks great now. So I am probably going to have implants, which takes several surgeries and they rupture
What is your experience with all this?

Daisy, I would really like more information about exercising and Lymphedema, which I am trying to avoid. I love lifting weights, but my breast surgeon said I cannot do that - bummer. I haven't been babying my arm, but I am not using it like I used to. So, I would appreicate any information you ladies have on the subject.

Thanks so much

Teri
