Way to go Phyllis!!! I am almost right there with you on the 10lbs lost then regained but I will feel much happier with myself when I get to the 23 lbs I lost the first time! So we need to push each other so we don't lose and gaine and now we will keep it off! Remember this is a life changing plan!

I'm so frustrated right now I could spit nails!!! I gained a pound this week and I am having a hard time sticking with the plan. I don't know what it is this time, but I just can't get myself motivated. I am taking more medicine since chemo and that is supposed to cause weight gain - great!!! I'm still hanging in there and I went to grocery last night and bought only good stuff.

Laurie and Phyllis - congrats on the weight loss - you go, girls!!

Teri, I hope you just focus on feeling good. I had to take medicine that made me gain weight- about 20 pounds. I continued to eat well and stay active and it came off fairly easily once I was able to go off the medication because I already had the good habits in place. Keep smiling- they make sexy underwear in large sizes for a reason!

Teri just stick with us, I know it is frustrating with the meds but eating right and the walkiing will only help in the long run......hopefully it will come off easier if you do.

I think if you need to- allowing yourself a bit of comfort food maybe once a week might help you get to your goal. Pick a meal or a snack and don't stress about the calories but go right back OP. We all need to do that once in a while.

Yes, ladies we are in this for a lifestyle change and we will all make our goals!!!

Teri, are you able to go out and walk the dog? Maybe withe the chemo and all on the days you are feeling good or better, you need to try and make yourself get yourself out and let the dog take you for a walk!! LOL!

Look at it this way... if you weren't making better food choices and taking good care of yourself who knows how much MORE weight you might be gaining... In the long run Teri - taking care of you can only be good. Do NOT beat yourself up about weight right now - you have more important things to stay focused on. Realize that if nothing else you are minimizing the "damage"... Hugs to you - hang in there!

Be encouraged Terri. I gained 1.5 lbs and I'm not on medication, just TOM. As long as you feel better in your body, you can do this. I feel like I lost lbs. even though the scale says otherwise. I'm in this for the long run and I know that you and others are as well. The support here is just awesome. Don't beat yourself up, just spit those nails out and get it overwith. Keep putting forth a little effort and eventually it will pay off. This it not the end, but the beginning of a new day.

Phyllis,

Congrats on losing the 10 pounds!!!! You can do this. I know you can!!! Think in terms of mini goals! It will come off if you don't cheat and do what is right!! (easier said than done, I know)! But you can do it for YOU!!!

Teri - I feel for you. My suggestion is like everyone else's -- just continue to eat good nutritious foods and make smart food choices and ignore the scale for a while. If you are taking care of your body the best you can, the meds can be the culprit and you can't help that.

Phyllis - way go to! I've gained and lost the same 100 lbs over the past 20 years that I know exactly how you feel. But tell yourself that they are out of your life forever and they are not welcome to come back ever again in any way -- kind of like my ex-husband.

Sharon - I'm with you -- this is the year to get to goal. Or at least as close as possible. I want a really, really hot dress for New Year's Eve 2006 in a much smaller size and I want to be able to go to a regular everyday store and buy it and not in the Plus size department.

Terri, please don't beat yourself up over this...medication is the pits when it adds weight on. I gained 35 lbs after my near death illness from meds because I wasn't watching what I was eating you on the otherhand are going to do well with the program as best as you are able to do right now...just don't loose sight with what you really want!!!

Lynn and Laurie...I can relate...I am loosing the same weight I lost 2 years ago...hopefully this time round it is for good!!!!

Lets keep going!!!

I'm losing the same weight I lost two years ago, too! (Plus a few extra for "good behavior") I like the idea of waving it off like an ex-husband. I may have to put that on my fridge so I see it before I see the snacks!

Thanks guys - you all are the best. I am feeling much better today. I had to get a physical yesterday afternoon. So I went to doctors office at 3:30 pm and, of course, first thing was weigh in. I thought - what the #*@(! - and just got on the scale (shoes, jacket and all). Now, normally I strip down to the barest that I can get away with!! Low and behold, the scale showed me at 171 - with all those clothes on and I had to pee!!!! WOW!! Believe it or not, I got really motivated at that point and I feel like I can get back on track again. Thanks for your energy ladies - it did the trick!!

BTW - Laurie, I can't walk Halle by myself anymore. I had 11 lymph nodes removed from my left armpit area and I have to be very careful not to do anything to injure or screw up that arm or I will end up with Lymphedema. I can't control Halle with my right arm only so I go with DH when he walks her. I've tried walking her on my own and it is no fun - if you can remember my stories from last year about this time!! She is still a pup and has tons of energy and weighs 60 pounds now.

If only we could string together all the losses we've had over the years. We'd all be skinny!
