Default happy 4th of july!

Happy 4th of July!

hope everybody is having a good day!

my oldest son apparently caught my stomach bug! poor guy! and he says he has got to get to feeling better so he can work the 2 to 10 shift tonight at the movie store. don't know how we are gonna do that - but I've given him a dose of Imodium Advanced and a motion sickness pill for the nausea. He is sleeping for now.

where do these stomach bugs come from anyway?

I hope everyone has a bug free & happy day!

hugs,
cathy

Our community is simply reeling! One of our neighbors just got the word that he is cancer free BUT his DD has been diagnosed with Hodkins disease. My goodness! She is in her twenties and has a five-month-old baby! I saw her in church yesterday and she has cut her hair very short. She had waist long hair that was naturally curly and a wonderful blond/coppery combo. She looks just darling with short-short hair too though and I doubt that her hair is her main concern right now.

Roger is woodworking today. I'm in the kitchen, about to put some chicken in the crockpot and make some bread with the bread machine.

Did I tell yu all about my food addiction? Actually, its a beverage addiction! I lovelovelove that spicy hot V8. I could easily drink a quart of it a day. I ration it. So silly! I guess I could be addicited to worse things.

I weighed in this morning and the ticker moved! So I'm pretty pumped right now. So far I've resisited the urge to celebrate with wine and bonbons. And I got some exercise over the weekend while the weather was a little less steamy. I've made a one-week commitment to exercise every day and keep to a healthy diet.

No stomach bug, but I think I've got a summer cold, which I'm trying to ignore. But I don't intend to use it as an excuse this time!

Carla

Tippy: sorry about your neighbour's daughter. At least I think Hodgkins is treatable these days? But still sad news,

Hi all,
Fairly good weekend here. DH was home all weekend so that was nice (He had been gone for 10 days) Weather didn't cooperate so we didn't get much work done outside, but it was nice with us all at home. Found with some of the heavy rains that our addition roof is leaking. I thought it only did that with the snow melting. So I guess we will be reroofing that sometime this summer, thank goodness its only a small portion and not the whole roof.
Took my girls to the library in town today and we walked up the stairs. We took the inside stairs that feel like they just keep on going. Boy are we out of shape!! Only dd13 who is in judo wasn't huffing a bit. Good sign that the four of us will have to get out a do things this summer
Tippy - so sorry about your neighbour's family.
Neph - hope things are getting better. Have your gotten your resume ready?
CIN - so great to "see" you again, glad you are on the mend.
Hope everyone south of the border has a safe and happy 4th of July!
Take care all, K
