December 21, 2002. It could have been the 22nd.

I was tired of eating badly, got to see it as abusing myself, and decided to stop in the late fall of that year. But work had been so stressful I decided to set that date to start--it was the beginning of a 2 week work holiday shut-down, so I figured that I'd have 2 weeks of momentum going back. And with no major holiday plans that year I figured I could be successful. It worked!

Since I just wrote along post on "introductions, " I'll just say that I'll never forget it when I stepped on the scale in the nurse's office at the Health Resources Management clinic and heard "236 1/2 pounds." See, I'd closed my eyes. I really didn't want to hear it. I burst into tears.

I don't remember the date exactly but I think it was end of May, beginning of June last year. I had just pulled on a new pair of jeans and hadn't pulled on a concealing sweatshirt yet. I happened to glance at myself in the bathroom mirror in side profile and realized that I looked 6 months pregnant with my gut sticking in one direction and my butt sticking out in the other! I grabbed a cover-up shirt real quick and later that week I joined WW online. After about 6 weeks, and a good start to losing, I signed up at curves and started exercising. The image in the mirror is like one of those mental "photographs" that comes to my mind often. In fact, now that I'm 45 pounds lighter and alot more fit, I often stand in the same place, looking at my silhouette now and remembering where I came from. Such good motivation to keep working at it!

July 23/2001. My daughter (third child) was almost 3 month old and it was my 33 birthday. I felt awful about my body, i was sick and on medication, and nothing helped. So I just walked into the Fitness World gym with Open house today sign. Sighned up for membership as my birthday present. I was in 170-ties than...

8/11/03 -- for two years I had my daughter and granddaughter living in one spare room and my step daughter and her 2 children living in another spare room. Everyone decided to move out of the house while my husband and I were on vacation. When I came home I immediately started taking care of myself and not putting everyone else’s needs ahead of mine. I miss them all but am very glad to have them all on there own now.
