Well Hurricane Frances refuses to leave us alone and I'm trying to keep the nerve thing under control. I stayed OP yesterday and so far today, but the winds are much worse for us today than yesterday and the rain is coming in sideways. It's high tide now so the flooding is starting to get bad. So, I'm at the computer pretending it's almost gone. My weigh-in is tomorrow and I want every ounce I've worked so hard to get.

Oh, Chris, please stay safe. Those storms have been so devastating for you folks. Please keep checking in so we know you are safe.

Good morning, Chickies~~

Just sitting here, chatting with my online buddies. Didn't sleep wonderfully well. Was up by 5:30 and went downstairs to check on the status of Frances. We're starting to get wind and tomorrow and Wednesday expecting as much as 6" of rain and strong winds from the feeder bands.

Hopefully it won't knock power out. Getting ready for work in pitch black darkness is a drag!

Dietwise, I'm at the point where I'm ready to talk to the doctor about serious measures. Despite being OP more days in August than off, I did not lose a single ounce. My knees are starting to hurt, my back hurts and this makes exercise very uncomfortable.

Don't know what those serious measures will be, but I do not want to end up weighing 250 pounds and wind up needing a gastric bypass!

So, looks like more bloodwork in my future.

Ruth, you crack me up...playing hooky from church to go shopping!

RN, hope your legs forgive you soon. I made that mistake last year...hiked DOWN to a waterfall, completely forgetting that I had to hike back UP to the car!

Jenni... on the Stink Eye...glad he forgave you.

Well, gotta fly here...will try to pop back in later.

Someone finally noticed!!
I started my new WOE/WOL in May and have been eating healthy and exercising ever since. Last week I finally reached the first 10% milestone - 17 pounds lost. None of the people I see every day or frequently have said anything (including DH _ haha) so I didn't think it was very noticable, even tho I am down a size or two (depending on the brand.)

Anyway, over the weekend DH and I went out of town and visited with some good friends that we haven't seen since June. Both of the wives asked, separately, if I had lost weight, so I guess it's noticable after all.

Also, I had the opportunity to get two new T-shirts, one free and the other a bargain, so I chose MEDIUM in size. Its been a long time since I purposely got a M. t-shirt and it felt GREAT.

Oh yeah, one more thing. While we were at their house I used their bathroom scale (couldn't resist) and it showed 5 pounds less than my home one. With all the people here talking about new scales I'm almost inclined to get a new one!!

Yay for all you littler people!!!

I am going to get my laundry together, and head out to the gym, then my friend's place. I don't want to take too much as she only has one washer and dryer, and I don't want to be there forever - sounds exciting, no???

Good Morning!

We slept in today- until 9:00. DD never sleeps that late, but we went to a Dance Festival last night and didn't get home until after midnight.

Ruth Good for you for taking your own food to lunch today. Sounds like your shopping was exciting!

Laundry is STILL on my agenda for the day. I have two overflowing baskets of clean stuff, it needs folded and put away. This evening over to a friend's for dinner- her DD and mine go to the same preschool and it is her birthday today. I missed the rain this morning, but it looks wet and gloomy outside. A perfect day to be a lazy bum!

Talking Good Monday morning....

I'm avoiding going out to the garage to clean it with my dh. It is Labor day but that doesn't mean "I" need to be laboring does it?

I have a 3 page paper due for my class tomorrow. What am I doing going to school at my age for? I'm actually paying tuition for this kind of stress. Anyway....

Glad it's Monday and glad everyone is home today. It's kind of fun having a day to relax and have no obligations.

Hope you all have a great day.

Ruth, has the canine had an ultrasound??????????? Skipping church sounds like it was a religious experience for you. Way to go!

Mama, hope you feel better. When was the last time you had a checkup. Seems that the scales should be moving.

Kiko and Jenne, have fun doing laundry. (yuk, I'd rather have a root canal)

Hey abroad, congrats on someone noticing! That gives you motivation doesn't it?

Chris, don't get wet! Are they telling you that you may have to evacuate? Thinking of you!

Barb, congrats on the new flatter you!

Well, off to get this paper written. Have a great OP day!

Hope everyone's Labor Day is fabulous! It's cloudy here, but that's alright. I have NOTHING to do but go to Zales today and show Terry a ring I want for Christmas, and make him try on (gasp) wedding bands. Terry LOATHES any type of jewelry. Won't even wear the watch I got him 2 years ago for Christmas. I asked him if he's actually going to WEAR his wedding band, and he said "I have to, don't I?" I guess he thinks it's The Law once you're married that you have to wear it, so I won't mention to him that some men just decide they aren't going to wear theirs.

I helped my friend Molly with her guitar (well, not hers but her friend Jay's brother's guitar) last night. She wants to learn how to play, and so Jay "tuned" the guitar for her, but she was complaining that it didn't sound right. I re-tuned it for her and showed her how to play a little. My fingers are KILLING me. I haven't even picked up my guitar in over a year, so my babybutt-soft fingertips weren't ready to press down the strings.

That's all I know. Hope everyone has a great day!

For the second time I will try to respond, I was in the middle of saying I think the worst is over, when the power went off. The storm is out of here now, only the mess to clean up tomorrow. We did not have to evacuate, we're not in the flood zone. But many homes are flooded in our area. My neigborhood was spared, just messy. And I can burn some calories cleaning it up... Get it nice and pretty for Ivan (groan) next weekend.

Hey all,

Well I was going to post that I was officially engaged, but then DBF decided to do the right thing and go ask my parents. He's old school. So, it's still not official. The man took it back! It was just last nights pipe dream while we were both drunk from the bbq (I waited till we got home to have a drink). We are still planning on getting married October 2005 though. At least now I have a really good reason to stay OP! I refuse to go down the aisle looking portly. Last night seemed to give me a reality check.

I was fine at the BBQ yesterday, my aunts actually brought all OP foods. Except for the dessert and that my friends is where I got into trouble. So today I have not put one thing in my mouth that is off plan.

Today has been spent getting ready for school tommorow, canning and cleaning house.
I'm tired, but I have also not had the opportunity to dwell on food, which is good.

Chris: I am so glad that the storm passed you by. Stay safe!

RNMom: I would not volunteer to clean out the garage either! dbf chose to this weekend, I just stayed out of his way with the exception of bringing him food and drink.

Ruth: What a great motivator! I get to go shopping soon, I need new winter clothes. It gets super cold on those buses!

Mama: I hope you feel better soon and can figure out what the problem is, how frustrating!

Well, I just got off the phone with work, more route problems and I found out that I did not get the special needs kindergarten route I had hoped for. Oh well. I'm still hoping I get a regular kindergarten route though . Or at least substitute for the sickies! I also lost 2 of my students off of my route to another driver. Then they tried to fix it by giving me a part time shuttle before my afternoon route to offset my lack of time. I'm sure everything will get straightened out and be fine time wise, but I am finding all of this out the night before school starts I can understand to a point, but it just is frustrating!

Well, the kiddos are starting to grumble about not being fed. LOL. DD told me her tummy is "angry" cause she has not fed it yet. LOL. So I must get going!
