Hello all!

HOly Mackeral... seems like we have brand new princes and princesses wherever we turn.. TRA LAA!!

So...here we are Friday evening...

Its a good thing..

Coincidentally, I imagine Martha Stewart may be saying the same thing considering she is free on appeal this evening...

So... I had a lovely lunch of baby greens w/goat cheese and a cup of minestrone soup...
And by 3ish had the worst gas cramps I have had in the longest time....
Really horrible... running to empty conference rooms for privacy ....

Go figure...

anyway...

Anagram... you sound so relieved now that Dh is home...
Perspectives...
And congrats on seeing the scale loss too!

Ok.. time to go.. seems as though a garage door window is now broken... beyond just simple taping ...
its being swept up...

Always something!

Oh what a beautiful morning! Breakfast on the patio was a true delight. May go back and linger a bit more after I do a few little things - Before the neighborhood gets noisy.

Ah, yes, Kaylets - much more joy since dh is safely home; however, CAN'T WAIT to be done with these bloodthinning shots. And today I also must give him his regular Procrit shot. I haven't mentioned it yet..........trying to space out the shots. So that's three for today and I must steel myself for each one. But we do what we must do in so many areas.

Another reason for my good mood - last night I told dh I must get new jeans as I decided he old ones had reached both a decrepit stage and a much too baggy condition. So this morning I shopped at my fave place "Anagram's Oldies" and found that I can now wear two pair of jeans and two pair of khakis that were too tight in the spring. There are also several pair of fallish pants that I will try and will probably be able to wear by fall. No tops left so will have to buy some new but it's the pants that are the toughies for me. So = tra la la.......zippedy do da ..... and all that jazz.

Two years ago when my sis was losing she asked for clothes of a certain size and I had given her a lot of my summer stuff but didn't part with the winter thinking she'd be smaller by winter. And now I'm glad to have all this fall/winter stuff. Just must make sure I can wear it by fall...

So my Sprint goals are twofold - (1)get rid of a little more avoirdupois so these slacks will fit well and (2) have a little bit of fun each day. Yesterday's "fun" was a little walk and sit in the park w/dh and a little garden puttering (being careful not to do so much it was like work) plus a little read on the patio. I think a little "fun" goes a long way to keeping me on track.

I do wish I were more able bodied. There was a nasty F3 tornado came down perhaps 30 miles from here (not far from your sister's, Kaylets?) and I wish I could be one of the volunteers helping people sort through what's left of their homes. Good day for it today but more rain expected this weekend so they need all they can get today.

Great yard sale day too so maybe Kaylet's is out already.

Wildfire - working backward and reading after posting. So glad dear nephew is home and I'm sure he's bringing lots of joy. I get you on the sale gifts - I had Samuel's bought and ready to mail weeks ago. dh said it cost about as much to mail it to Alaska as "cheapie" had paid for it. And it was CUTE but bought at summer sales when NOBODY here wanted to buy warmish clothes. But in six weeks, it'll be getting pretty chilly in Alaska so I thought it was perfect. I use B for my middle initial and most people think it's for my maiden name but it really stands for Bargainhunter.

More joy! Only two of the winter slacks need lots more work to get into. Also found a denim skirt and a pair of white summer pants that are doable now. Was able to button skirt to a suit (not quite comfy yet) that I had not been able to close in spring. I wouldn't wear it now anyway but maybe by fall, both my body and the weather will be right for it. All of these things say they're the same size but lots of them must lie. Sprint, sprint, sprint!

Good Saturday all!

Well the results of the tests are sorta in....a sliding hiatal hernia and some kidney weirdness...which requires a dye test this coming Tuesday....yippee. It is a little nerve racking....and the MD feels that I'm a candidate for a hysterectomy....oh boy...maybe after late October...because I'm intending on going to Colorado the first two weeks.

Am still pondering July goals...it will be August by the time I get any at this rate Am drinking more water eventhough we have a boil water advisory at this time....so....

Computer is still out at home so have gone into work on my day off to post....these public internet stations are wonderful....also checked my email...still getting those body enlargement emails for parts I don't own....

So I'm off to garden in the rain....my potted perennials need to stretch their roots....

Am holding onto the wagon by a strap!

Congrats on all the clothes finds, anagram! And yes, it often costs more to mail the gifts than the sale price of the gifts!

Ceara, I missed that you were having tests done. Will be thinking of you on Tuesday...what kind of dye test is it?

DH and I went for a long drive today to the big city. We went MY way there...it was a trial run for my meeting with the lovely Arabella so I can find her...and HIS way coming back. HIS way involved no highways and took two hours. Reminded me that I could never live in the big city. Too much to take in....signs, colors, traffic, people...all looks very messy and I would endlessly feel the need to paint it all bright white.

We wandered to an outdoor patio for lunch when we came back. Lovely setting with a large tree in the center for shade. Too bad the food was overpriced and not very good. I picked at mine and finally gave up. I'll make something here later. Salmon sounds good...I'm off to the butcher.

anagram-congrats on being a new great aunt! hope this weekend will be as serene as possible. terrific that you are "shrinking" into all those clothes!

wildfire-glad to hear your little nephew is home from the hospital! the little outfits you got for him sound so cute.

amarantha-hope that most recent nasty headache is the last one for a long time to come!

ceara-hope your upcoming test on tues. won't be too rough and that the results will turn out well. also hope you will be feeling better soon.

not too miserably hot yesterday, and was able to get out and get together with a couple of friends i hadn't seen in a while, which i really enjoyed. have kept up with exercise and food journaling, though my portion control yesterday was not good; better today, though. hope all the royals have a good remainder of the weekend. take care, all.

Hi, all! This is a brevity posting but Ceara, I'm sorry to hear about thy health problems ... hope you get some good news soon as you deserve it!

Anagramatic, congrats on the clothes situation!!! Huzzah!

Wsw, glad thou got outside and saw friends today ... makes life worthwhile when we do that!

I do still have a headache but eating well today should help.

If anybody is tempted to overeat tonight, read this: Just saw a thread on another website about deep fried chocolate coated "salo" ... salo is a snack in the Ukraine (apparently) that amounts to deep fried pork lard ... I guess they put it on bread with garlic. Anyhow, a restaurant there came up with the chocolate coated variety. There's a picture of it posted on the forum I was reading.

Literally took away any desire I had to ever eat again.

Sorry, not meaning to gross anyone out.

Felt bummed today by an encounter with a lady who literally accosted me in the street. She seemed to be from India, at least she was wearing a sari and didn't speak English very well, and was approximately in her 60s. I have a vague recollection of seeing her before. Anyhow, I was driving and wanting to be left alone and she flagged me down and wanted a ride to Wal-Mart. I nicely tried to explain that I had a policy against taking strangers into my car (I do, it's dangerous, however harmless they might appear). She got furious and tried to open the car door (it was locked) ... I pulled away ... I'm sure she is harmless and I hate not being able to be as kindly as I really am, but I haven't stayed alive this long by being bullied into doing something my instinct says is not safe!

Venting!

Sorry, meant to be brief.

Going to bed to read.

Also hi to K and all s mentioned and unmentioned!

BTW, I'm disgusted, as always, by the Martha Stewart case ... aren't there enough real criminals in the world for the prosecutors to send to prison (even though it was a light sentence) and for the public to ogle at their downfall ... I don't even like Stewart but it's pathetic.

Ok, leaving now! Bye!

Hmmm. Three in a row? Ok, just wanted to mention I've decided I'm in love with my new scale. It weighs the same no matter how many times you get on. Not happy with the bodyfat reading as it's too high (weight is too high, also, but I fear it's accurate)!

Fly-by birthday post! Cleaning up the flotsam & jetsum from the party last night. It was fun, although slightly more subdued than usual because some of the bigger partiers didn't make it. Oh well... I think next year I'll suggest we just have a summer party. I've decided that actually dealing with birthday wishes & etc. at the same time as hosting a party is more trouble than it's worth. Wow! That makes me sound old. But I never realized how much all that foofaraw (i do not know how to spell that ) adds to the general chaos. Older and wiser today Hope all have a great day!

Happy Birthday, DEAR ARABELLA!!! The queendom is so lucky to have you!!!

wsw, congrats for keeping up with your journaling and exercise, especially with the opressive heat. Summer is beautiful, but it's my least favorite season. Looking forward to fall.....

Ceara, keep us posted on your health stuff. How inconvenient! To say the least!

Anagram, how's the weekend? Glad you're making use of the magical patio! And congrats on your finds at Chez Anagram!

Wildfire, it sounds like you've recommitted to the cause. I LOVE that! Dare I say it? I feel like I'm "back" too. 3 good days so far!

Amarantha, fried, chocolate dipped lard. Yummy....I love chocolate as much as anyone, but I think I'll pass. Blurp!
And about the lady on the street---I hope you haven't taken it in and are agonizing about it, it sounds like she had some major issues brewing and you just happened to be there, lucky girl! People can be so scary; you did the right thing.

Our little weed patch/garden is giving us some lovely green beans this year. When we think we've seen the end of them, they just keep coming. Also, getting tomatoes, basil, and peppers now. Squash and cukes didn't do so well this year though.

Happy birthday, A/aka Wood Nymph!!! Hope it's a wonderful day for you!

Yea, E, I've been worrying about the lady, but I agree I did the right thing! Please, s and lurkers (if any), never pick up a stranger in your car. It renders you completely at their mercy and they may not be who they seem. I've often been driving through mountain canyons after working late at night and seen people pulled over and only once in many years have I stopped ... that was when it was still daylight and a young woman's car had broken down on the BIG HILL and she had a three-year-old child in her arms and MEN were driving past as well as old married couples, so I had to stop, but it's still against my policy as people with guns could have lept out from behind the nearest cactus ... this is not being imaginative, it's absolutely sad and true that we have to be wary, especially when traveling alone ... howsomever, when I see people pulled over in the mountains I do pull up and stay in the car and advise them I'll stop at the next town and tell the police, which I do. I always write down the milepost so I'll be able to pinpoint their location for the police.

Hmmm. All this is very funny because in the instances of my going around the street all day and night and talking to strangers and making myself a target for everyone in town, I have no worries at all ... it's just that, as I say, when you allow someone into the confined space of a car or find yourself alone in a situation that could be an ambush, you need to not let that happen.

Well, dunno why I am rambling. Have a headache like Pittsburgh again. Back to bed to let more bodyfat grow!

The new scale says I have 36 percent bodyfat! I don't think that's right, but could be!
