Hey everybody,

Wow! Ya take off for a day and look what happens!

Marti - your boobs do look marvy! Mine are droopy - I tell people I wear a 42 long! Is there anything at all I can do to help them, besides increase the muscles behind them???

Kaycee - hon, at least you know when TOM is coming! I hadn't had a visit from Aunt Flo for 16, yes 16, months, then she showed up uninivited! How rude!

Cristi - hope you are enjoying your lazy Sunday. You deserve it!

Natalie - Glad to see you and that you had fun at the pumpkin patch.

To those of you considering the South Beach Diet, it has been referred to as the Healthy Atkins diet. As I said last week, I am going to count WW points, but loosely follow the SB diet. FYI, there is a thread here at 3FC that gives the week 1 and 2 food lists and guidelines. Also recipes.

Neal and I had so much fun yesterday! The movie we saw was Second Hand Lions, and it was so good. It has Micheal Caine, Robert Duvall, Haley joel Osment and Kyra Sedgewick in it. I think you might have to be older to appreciate it, though. And we also went to an orchard and a craft show and out to eat.

Then today the fam came over for the weiner roast and it was all good. I got to cuddle and spoil the grandkids which is what I do best!

Well, I'm off to plan and write down my food for tomorrow!

Toodles,
Jana

Talking Hey Y'all!

Drat!!! Church was cancelled tonight. I was really looking forward to it, too.

Natalie- Girl, I am glad to see you back! Wondered where you were. And to answer your question- no, you will never get it all done!

Jana- All right! Sounds like you had fun! Down here in Arkansas we call it a weenie (not weiner) roast. LOL And I know that you just HATE to spoil those grandkids! Sorry about Aunt Flo- but even more sorry about the 42 long ! (Especially because that's about my size!

Cristi- I am jealous of your lazy day. Well, the little beasties just left!!! OMG they got here around 3:00 and didn't left until 8:30. It was a constant screamfest and now I have a pounding headache! They will not mind at all. We had problems with the horse on Friday- we were trying to saddle her and she went nuts- left a big dent in Tim's truck hood- no injuries- nothing major. The first thing the kids did when they got here was spot the horse and make a beeline. I yelled at them to stay away but of course they ignored me. Then I told their dad what had happened and I didn't want them around the horse until it has been here a while. His response? "Oh it looks like they are getting along just fine." Fine for him- I'm the one that would feel awful if they got hurt by my animal (not to mention the lawsuit that I am sure would follow). At least they only come down once a month or so. I couldn't handle it every week. I know, I know. I am a peacemaker so I just grit my teeth and bare it. I can't stand family friction. (Even if I have a nervous breakdown and high blood pressure)

Well, gonna go finish watching Tarzan. I am really getting into it. See y'all later.

Angie- Please send Monte over here for some training lessons for Tim! Vacuume? Wash? Cook? Why- don't you know that the little magic maid genie handles all of that while we sleep at night? If I asked Tim to tackle Mount Washmore I think he might lose his manhood-not to mention half the clothes. His excuse is that he takes care of mowing the lawn and other manly stuff outside. HELLO! It's been raining- it's almost winter- and what are the goats for? Does anyone else have much grass in the yard now? We live in Arkansas not Bermuda. LOL Well enough - I gotta go wash his dirty socks now. *sigh*

P.S. Congrats on eating well today!

He used to be the biggest pig around,,,married life changed him. Plus I work long hours too, and I do alot of cleaning when Im home and vice versa when hes home.
Im trying to get him hockey tickets right now,,,,Detroit RedWings verus Calgary Flames,,,*gulp it will cost me $225. for two tickets.
I bought a George Foreman Grill yesterday on my way home...thats what happens when you work so close to a Walmart! I only paid $59. it came from another store that is being renovated,,,and they shipped all their stuff between all the other stores in the city. Cheap! Considering its the big one,,,and normal price is like a $100. and more.
Better run,

Evening ladies-

I had just started a post and I did something and lost it!! So let's see if I can try this again!

James and I took Jhanai to the pumpkin patch today. Bought three of them, 120lbs worth! (they're big) The place was crowded!! I've never been there when there were so many people around. We decided not to wait in line for the wagon ride out to the patch, and so I had James grab a wheel barrow and we walked. Can you imagine how he must have felt pushing that barrow around after we put the pumpkins in??? It was a beautiful day! The weather was perfect. Just a perfect fall day.

Jana--
42 long?? Oh my goodness... I was picturing that and I had to laugh,... you would not want to know what I envisioned. Too funny. Besides going in for a lift, the only thing I can suggest to get some perkiness is "Duct tape" I'm told you can use that for everything!! I'm sure there is a book out there somewhere thats titles "101 uses for duct tape" We'll add that one as 102!

Angie---what a great guy you have. It's always nice to have someone do things for you when you've been so busy at work. Have you tried your George Foreman?? James got one for his birthday one year, and we used it everyday for weeks!! I love it. We only have the little one, but it's still nice.

Natalie---glad to see that you're still around. I hope decide to join the challenge with us. And join in on some of this crazy talk we've got going on over in the extreme makeover thread.

Beenie---Everything ok?? I sure hope to see you soon. We already miss ya.

Michelle and Mel and whoever else.... come back!! You're missing all the chit-chat!

Kayecee---we've been yappin back and forth today. It's been fun. Let's do it again next week. Pick another topic to talk about that we can all discuss. It's fun reading.

Ok ladies.... I've got to go rest. Midterm exam tomorrow at 9:00. NOT looking forward to it at all. I guess I just need to think positive, think of something that'll relax my nerves.

Ok night girls

Yes Monte used it last night,,,geesh he cleaned all day and made me supper...is he not the best guy?
Wanna hear something funny too? Hes addicted to Ebay,,,probably buying all of Michelles stuff...lol Anyways I don't mind him doing his little shopping, got Tanner a really nice MP3 player for christmas, and he bought me 3 necklaces,,,really fancy looking. I of course had to go buy outfits to match them....lol So I told him the more jewellery he buys me the more clothes I need to match them up. Hes going to get rid of all our stuff on ebay too, which I can say Im really happy about.

Jana, I know what you mean about 42 long,,,,I roll mine up every morning...lol *humming Swing Low.........
I remember talking to a woman once, (skinny woman) and she said you know if you have perky breasts if you can put a pencil under one breast and if falls. I looked her in the eye and said I could probably hide a box of 64 crayons under one breast without dropping anything. This is also the same woman who complained about gaining SO MUCh weight, and being in a size 6 jeans...again I came back with,,,thats my right thigh.
Anyways better run,
Angie

You guys are too funny!!! The 42 is the "around" measurement, sillies, not the LENGTH!!! Those would be some looooong ones! But they are droopy, hence the LONG!!

Angie - how're the hands feeling? Hope you enjoy your days off.

Kaycee - Sounds like you had an eventful weekend. Neal is good around the house too. He got the kitchen floor swept, made tea, set out all the paper plates and stuff for the weenie roast while I took a nap. Worked well for me..... lol.

Marti - wow, you got some big pumpkins! Will you paint them or carve them? Duct tape? LOL!! That could work alright!

Gotta run over to Mary's and address shower invitations with her...

BBL,
Jana

Love that one Jana, 42 long! Glad to hear you had a great weekend with hubby & the family. I miss get-togethers with family. It's kind of hard with most of them in Arkansas, it's only a 7 hour drive but not like I can just get in the car and go visit for a day.

Kayecee, sorry to hear about your Sunday. My SIL is a screamer and between her and the kids (5 girls) She tells them to do something and they look at her and you know they are laughing inside, because they totally ignore her. They turn around and continue doing what they are not supposed to be doing. They are like animals that have been caged up for months and let lose-watch out! When you see them you think oh they look so sweet! HA!

Angie, boy what a work week you have had. I'm with the others when I say you can send your hubby over here. That is so sweet he is willing to help out. I know too many husbands who think it is the womans job regardless of whether they work or not. I don't work as of yet, but my DH is all too willing to help around the house if I need him too. He does pick up after hisself but I don't ask him to do anything because he works long hours and I know he is tired, even if he says he's not. You made me think of my friend, the one who had the boob job. She wore a size 0-1, yes ladies a size 0-1 and was always talking about needing to lose 10 pounds! I asked her where? She didn't look like she weighed 90 pounds and she was tall. I didn't think they even made a size ) till I went shopping with her.

Wow Marti, those are some BIG pumpkins! Glad you guys had a nice time at the pumpkin patch. Have a good day in school today.

Natalie, glad to see ya back.

Well, ladies I hope everyone is having a good day today. I got my walk in early this morning, well part of it. A 2 mile walk at the park and I am going to do another mile on the treadmill and work some with the exercise ball. Anyway, I need to be getting off this thing in a few. Talk to ya later.

Why is there so much talk about which plan is right and which isn't??? I think that is why so many of us are having such a time with our weight.... we listen/read about what's good for you then, we turn around and hear the bad stuff about it. Can't we all just agree on something?? Anyway,,, here is what I read today and I thought I would share.

By Weight Watchers for WeightWatchers.com

No doubt you've heard something recently about carbohydrates and their role in diet and weight loss. A popular fad at the moment is to decrease or eliminate carbohydrates in the hope of losing weight. Unfortunately, that fad is based on nutritional information that is simply incorrect.

With a long history of providing science-based weight-loss programs that are safe, healthy, and focused on the long term, you can count on Weight Watchers to give you sound information. No- and low-carb diets may be the latest "craze" in weight loss, but they've taken the sound idea of cutting back on empty calories and hijacked it into extreme, flawed thinking. The pseudo- science that's making the rounds says things like "only carbs can turn to fat," "how many calories you eat has nothing to do with what you weigh," and "carbs are bad for your health."

Sounds possible, but it's not true. Fact is, any calories eaten beyond what your body burns are stored as body fat.

So how do some people lose weight by following a no- or low-carb diet? A scientific review published in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association* answers the question: People following these extreme diets ate fewer calories. Being told to eat unrestricted amounts of one type of food doesn't even begin to make up for what's been cut.

So if you need to cut calories to lose weight, should you cut out all carbs? No! Many carbs -- including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and non-fat dairy -- provide essential nutrients and are vital to your health and well-being. On the other hand, excess consumption of saturated fat and trans fat has been repeatedly shown to hurt your long-term health. So, although weight loss is an important health goal, finding a smart, healthy way to lose the weight and keep it off is what counts.

Here's to a healthy step on your journey toward long-term weight-loss!

Talking Hey Y'all!

Well, what ya up to, y'all? O.k.- don't know if I made the right decision today, BUT I finally decided to do the Carbohydrate Addict's plan. I got up this morning and planned out my day then realized that a) the school nurse's daughter got married on Saturday and there would invariably be leftover wedding cake in abundance today b) I had to attend an afternoon meeting at another school where they would definitely have snacks galore and c) mom had invited us to eat spaghetti tonight. Sooooo.... I decided to eat the carbs in moderation today because I knew that there was no way in you-know-where that I could survive the first day of a diet with on my shoulder. That of course would start the vicious cycle... you blew it.... might as well wait until next Monday.... etc. So I took a deep breath and ate reasonably.

Marti I agree with you. I have been swinging low fat/ low carb for some time now. But pay attention to the last part of that WW article:

"So if you need to cut calories to lose weight, should you cut out all carbs? No! Many carbs -- including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and non-fat dairy -- provide essential nutrients and are vital to your health and well-being. On the other hand, excess consumption of saturated fat and trans fat has been repeatedly shown to hurt your long-term health."

Uh.... doesn't that sound like the Southbeach... which is low-carb- which is what they were bashing? Fifteen million people hawking fifteen million diets all swearing they are right and everyone else is wrong... it's kinda like religion- I may not totally agree with someone else but if it works for them (and it's not harmful) more power to them! Low-fat/ Low-carb- Makes no difference who you are.... I am just sad that Dr. Atkins died just before he started getting some recognition!

Oops! Rambling and Mount Washmore when is erupting! I will finish saying hi to everyone in a little while. Sorry.

Talking Hey Y'all!

I was just typing and boom.. it all disappeared!

Angie Me? Bitter? What on earth would give you that idea? Let's see... Monte cleaned all day AND cooked supper? Why don't you just rub salt in the wound? I have a George Foreman- I really like it but forget to use it! 64 Crayons!!! LOL And mine wouldn't be those little crayons- they would be those big, fat kindergarten crayons.! LOL I hope you squished that itty bitty perky thang with your right thigh!

Marti I love the yapping too! The tutor will pay off- don't sweat it- you're gonna stomp that midterm. (If you aren't sure though and need a crib sheet- print it in tiny letters on your duct tape!) 101 ways ain't even enough to waste time writing a book- I use it at least 592 ways just getting ready in the morning. LOL BTW with all the recent boob talk, I might be a little suspicious of anyone commenting on your really big pumpkins. *snicker*

Jana Sure you meant "around" and not "length". Actually, that might be pretty handy for someone who likes to multi-task: You could dip your nipples in fingernail polish and have your toenails painted red by the time you walked to the kitchen. I hope you finished all of the invitations- I hate doing that kind of stuff! How is grandmotherhood going?

Cristi Where in Arkansas does your family live? I live in Northeast Arkansas about an hour away from Jonesboro. Congrats on the exercise. Your SIL has 5 kids? And I dread my BIL's two! My sympathies. I didn't know you could buy a size 0-1 either. My dream is to look like Calista Flockhart- you know, Ally McBeal. Being her size would be wonderful. (Then instead of starving myself, I could pig out and eat my way UP to Christi Brinkley!)

Where is everyone else?!? March your butt's back here. (We've got duct tape to fix the jiggles while you're marching!) Night all!

Marti, That would look so cool with the big pumpkins all carved up with lights glowing from evil loooking eyes....Tanner carved our small 15 lb pumpkin the other night, well he painted it then carved some holes for the light to glow from. Last year I bought the coolest bowl from Target,,(last time I was there) ITs huge, it has witches feet on the bottom and then a big pumpkin on top with the words trick or treat smell my feet. The way my house was in Sylvan I used to make the news paper every second year with my halloween decorating. I made little kids cry and big kids shiver.
I knew they made small sizes like that, I once was maid of honour for a friend who was that size. Hated the fact that I was a size 18 at the time...*sigh
My hands are not bad today, but they hurt from all the stratches and bruises. I have horrible hang nails too which I haven't had since the false nails 4 yrs ago.
My SIL got a job at Peir 1, its opening in her neighbhourhood next week so shes been like me.
Well I better run, going to put a roast in the crock pot. Ask Monte to bring home some buns and have beef dip.

Hi Ladies

Not much going on. Had errands this morning so haven't had the chance to get in my workout. Today is WATP video and bike ride, plus I will do a mile on the treadmill.

Kayecee, yes my brother and sil have 5 bratty girls! My sil after every one said she was having her tubes tied and boom here comes another child. No wonder my brother stays gone a lot! Just kidding, I think. I have three brothers and 2 sisters and between the lot of us when we do get together it is like a circus. Of the 16 nieces & nephews (not counting my 3) there are 11 great nieces & nephews and it gets crazy, but it is fun and a rare occurence. I have a brother & sil in Siloam Springs, and the rest of my family, well, most of them are in Beebe, Cabot and Little Rock/North Little Rock. I have some in Colorado, and CA.

Well, I need to get going. Hi to everyone else, Jana, Marti, Michelle, Angie, Kat, Beenie and Natalie. Hope everyone is having a great day. Take care, ttfn.
