Good Morning All:
Nikkic, I hope all goes ok with your daughter today. She sounds
like an idependant young lady. I bet you are pround of her
Linda: Check on Sauturday(my measurment day) and I will
give you my totals. I use to weight 309 and I am currently
210 pounds. I am hoping by Christmas I will be able to slide
under the 200 pound mark but I am 46 and while not over the
hill I ain't no s spring chick so its harder and harder to get the
weight down
Aleka, we are in for great weather until Sunday when we are
suppose to receive much needed rain. These last few days
are still rather summer like with a little nip in the air in the
morning.
Good evening to everyone,
I will write more tomorrow. But, I wanted to send you this story today. I read it on Flylady.net. I hope you like it as much as I do
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.
So to help the butterfly
He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly, because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would expand out to support the body and the body would contract back.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of it's life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings.
It never was able to fly
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid out of the body of the butterfly and into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us and we would not be as strong as what we could have been. We would never fly!
Remember...what we struggle with makes us strong!
I loved this story. I think sometimes, we all wonder why is life so hard, or why is this happening to me. But when you look at the big picture, it's easier to understand.
Take care, Nikki
nikki, thank you for sharing such a lovely story. This story makes you feel a bit better going through life's struggles. How did your D make out at the dentist yesterday with her wisdom teeth?
ANNE, we got back into summerlike weather yesterday, where the temps were in the mid-80's. We may see some rain over the weekend, maybe remnants of Henri.
Linda, how is the BF going?
We are having another NASCAR race in NH this weekend. DH will be going down to the race track during the day Fri., Sat., & Sun. He meets his internet buddies, then on Sun. they all meet early in the morning, have breakfast together, park near each other in the parking lot, and after the race they all get together and have a cookout. He has a really good time. That way I get to have 3 glorious days to myself!
Hi,
DD did really well at the dentist. She decided to just have novacaine and there were no complications. She did have a bacterial infection prior to the removal, so the Dr put her on an antibiotic to clear it up. Later in the night, she was in a lot of pain. Her dentist gave her a script for hydrocodone and we had already picked it up. I don't know how she's doing this morning, she was planning on going to work, guess I'll find out later.
Our weather finally has become more fall like. It started to rain yesterday and has continued. We are all so grateftul. There was a farmer last week that was cutting his hay and his blade hit a rock, making a spark. It burnt up 40 acres and his tractor. Now, that's dry. I was really starting to worry every time I smelled smoke if we would burn up. The field around us is really dry and brown. For some reason, the guy that mows it killed off all the wonderful clover this spring and planted a bunch of weeds. We are now surrounded by 10 acres of ragweed, horsetail, you name it. It looks aweful and DH has had a miserable time with his allergies.
I've decided to try the Curves meal plan for this week. Will go to the store later and get the food. Also, continue with the BF and the gazelle.
Aleka, sounds like you and your DH are going to have a good weekend. That's great he can get together with his internet friends.
Anne, I'm looking forward to seeing your measurements tomorrow.
Later, Nikki
Hi Everyone
d_rowland, it stands for Low Carb Free Style
What a great story Nikkic and so true
I'm glad all went well for your daughter. She is a brave
young lady. I went under a general when they removed my
four.
Aleka, three days to yourself sounds like heaven to me enjoy!!!
Hi,
It is raining here. We got 3 1/2 inches the first day and after that, I quit counting. The basement is pretty wet. I forgot I had some Christmas presents stored down there on the floor and just managed to get it up and out of the boxes before everything was ruined. I bought the girls some Scrapebooking stuff for Christmas. I'm so thankful it wasn't turned into a soggy mess. We really needed the rain, I'm not complaining, but it's going to flood if it doesn't stop soon.
I started on the curves diet plan today and so far, it's going very well. Did my Body Flex this morning and the gazelle too.
Debra, welcome to our little thread if you'd like to post here, we are always glad to have another.
Anne, hope you get to post today, looking forward to your results.
Aleka, DH is in the garage today with his brother, working on his old truck. They are welding on some parts. The progress on his truck is slow, but maybe some day (in 10 years) we will have a truck out of it all. So, I've got a free day to myself too. Hope your enjoying yours.
I started to read Dr. Phils book. I'm not exactly sure if it really will change my life, but it is always good to find a new source of motivation.
Have a good one, Nikki
I am enjoying my time alone. I've done a lot of reading and it's so nice to be able to eat when I want and what I want. Tomorrow is DH's big day when he won't be home until really late.
nikki, glad that you're getting some much needed rain. That's awful about your basement. Thankfully the Christmas gifts you had stored weren't ruined. That's good news about the Curves diet going well for you. Are you doing the low carb version? Did you enjoy your free day? They are nice. Did you happen to see Dr. Phil last night with Katie Couric? Does he have an eating plan in his book? I was thinking about picking up his book, but I honestly don't need another diet book. I have so many now that I can open up my own bookstore.
ANNE, how many inches did you lose when you measured today?
d_rowland, welcome to our thread. The more the merrier. Which plan are you following?
