Walk every other day for two hours at a moderate pace. If you are new to walking, aim to maintain a speed of 3 mph for the duration of the walk. According to the American Council on Exercise, you'll burn 524 calories in two hours of walking if you weigh 175 lbs.

I have started walking as my form of daily exercise. I walk 45 min- 1hour a day up and down lots of hills in my neighborhood. I am on the 4th day in a row so I can't say what difference it is making yet but I can say I can tell it's already easier than day 1.

I am in maintenance and still making the time to walk about 2 hours a day. right now for me the burn from 2 hours of walking is about 300 calories which is not much but it is easier to maintain with the walking and emotionally I cant believe how much it relives stress....I have several older replies on this thread during the weight loss phase.

Yes, it will be helpful, but start initially with 15 minutes normal walk, and then increase the time and intensity day by day according to your stamina to 2 hours. It is a better approach to see the results faster. Don't forget to make healthy dietary changes. Drink a lot of water. You'll be stay healthy and fit for life.

Walking outside is great for so much. I had to start very slow though...now I can walk up to an hour a day with no issues.
