Good morning... good morning.
It rained here most of yesterday... but I managed to get my swimming in between rains.
Water was cold to start but I warmed up quickly exercising.
Last nightI watched my favorite College football team win their first game.
GO OKLAHOMA SOONERS !!!!! GO BIG RED !!!!
The score was 37-3.
I could not find my OU (Okla Univ)flag or theme song noise maker.
I will have to get busy and finish unpacking these last boxes to find them.
Maybe they are still at the old house in the garage.

I woke up this morning and went swimming bright and early.
Water cold again... but well worth it.

Today we are probably going to OKC to see my oldest daughter.
Yesterday my son , his family, my youngest daughter and her boyfriend all spent the day here.
I must confess I got a little resentful when they ALL come to swim and play and let me do ALL of the work ALONE. I am the MAIN football fan and I was missing the game while they just sat and relaxed. Grrrrr
I don't know if they could tell I was getting mad or what... but all of a sudden out of nowhere both my son and daughter came into the kitchen and started helping. I was in shock.
They took over and even cleaned up after we all ate.
I don't know what caused the sudden change... maybe dad.. LOL .. but I sure appreciated the help.

Okay... I am out of here again.
I just cooked my husband a big breakfast and overate.
Now I need to get busy again. Have a wonderful day.

Wink Hi!

Good morning all...... I don't know that an awful lot has happened since I posted last night and today, but we'll see what this old brain can rattle up.

I think Pam mentioned that she takes leftovers to work with her sometimes. Might I ask...what are leftovers? Between dh, and two growing boys...I don't know what they are. Every once in awhile, I might sneak and hide a peice of chicken that someone hasn't devoured, but those are few and far between. I would like to mention that I brought something new for lunch today and I can't wait to dig into it. It actually caught my son's eye when I was picking up a couple of Healthy Choices for me. It is one of those frozen dinner "bowls" and it's made by Mrs. Pauls. It's called Garlic Butter Shrimp. While it looked very tasty, I knew better, so just bought my son one. Well, imagine my surprise when I got home and was going to pop it in the microwave for him and saw the nutritional facts on it. It is only 290 calories, 3.5 grams of fat and 5 grams of fiber. A neat and tidy 5 points. I took one bite of Trey's when I made it for him and it is great! It has shrimp, pasta, peas, and carrots in a light garlic butter sauce. I'm including an individual container of SF FF black cherry jello with it which is 0 points. Hmm.....I've made myself hungry. Is it lunchtime yet?

Ok....exercise goal for the week: I am going to work in some type of exercise every day this week, even if it is only 15 minutes. On my off days, I will exercise at least 30 minutes. On days that I have to work, I will do at least my 1 mile WATP. I think I'm worth at least 15 minutes, don't you?

Ok......on to replies:

Barb: Sorry I missed you in chat last night. Have fun at the gym this morning!

Pam: Sounds like you and Jane had an awesome time in Nashville. Makes me jealous..... I'm only two and a half hours from there.....I think I need to take a day trip.

Jen: Good to see you sweetie! So glad that you are back on your medication and feeling better. Keep your spirits up....we believe in you.

2cute:You know, I think my hubby watched that game too. Of course, I think he watched every football game that was on yesterday! Glad the kids helped you out, it doesn't hurt them every once in awhile, does it?

Alright ladies..... I'm stepping out for a little while. I'm gonna go home after work and watch what's left of the race.....keep your fingers crossed for THE MAN! Go Tony!!!

Hi Everybody! Thought I would check in before hitting the supermarkets. The guys are tied up watching the race and so I figured I will go and spend the day with myself! Since the Blackout destroyed some of my frozen supplies, I really need to get to the store.

Can't do individuals today. If I don't get going, I won't get back and I asked my mom to come to dinner tonight. Still don't know what I'm making. Maybe it will occur to me while I'm shopping.

I got this in my e-mail box this morning from a friend on another thread. Since it was 'diet' related, I thought I would pass it on. A little Q & A for everyone.

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it...don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body, and you have body fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good.

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: You're not listening. Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: What's the secret to healthy eating?
A: Thicker gravy.

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO ...... Cocoa beans ... another vegetable!!! It's the best feel good food around!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

Now go have a cookie...flour is a veggie!

Hope you guys have a great day. Maybe I'll get back later. Love to all.

Hey gang...

Yesterday's show was great...I'm really glad we went, after all. Even though our pre-concert tailgate festivities were rained upon, it didn't dampen the party! The rain stopped well before the show, giving everyone a chance to dry out...It was a beautiful night...the show was a blast...I know I burned LOTS of calories just dancing and clapping for three straight hours!

I MUST get back to reality today...food shopping, etc...playtime is over...

for now...

Well, it is such a glorious day here, I hope that everyone else is having just as nice a day and taking full advantage of this beautiful weather. I already had a good bike ride today, hoping to convince dh and son to go for one later on.

I'm off to do some food shopping now...

Good afternoon chickie poos! You know...I feel like I ate all day long today and I still have 11 points left to eat to hit my target and I just finished dinner....so thats gonna be all snacking points! I even ate 3 of those frozen peanut butter cup thingies Thin gave us the recipe for! They are sooo good..but three is plenty cause they are rich!

Not much happening around here today...John worked so Andrew and I just hung out together. We went to the grocery store to get bread and soda and bottled water for the cookout we are having on the 14th after his birthday party. Anyone wanna come?? Then we just played outside and I tried to do a little bit of housework...no motivation!

We are going to another cookout tomorrow. I hope I can be as successful at this one as I was yesterday. This weekend has really put me to the test!

I plan to go for a morning walk tomorrow since John is off...he can watch Andrew so I can get in a good long walk around the block. Ha...the first time I walked this block I almost died! See here in Levittown the areas are divided into sections. I live in Red Cedar and all the roads in this section begin with the letter "R"...and most of the roads are off of Red Cedar Drive....and this neighborhood is BIG...so the block is HUGE! I think it is either 2 or 3 miles...I can't remember now...I'll have to drive it again to see. Anyways...

I can see I just babbled on again about just about nothing! Can you tell I have had no adult conversation today? LOL

OK I'm gonna go spend some quality time with my honey now...but I'll be back!

Hi Gals!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! It's been a beautiful day here! I spent an hour at the gym then washed and detailed my car, followed by a quick house cleaning - still have one room left to tackle and I am going to do that here in a minute. We just got back from the movies. We saw SWAT. Both of us really enjoyed it. We're going to spend the rest of the evening around the house. Jeff's boss called while we were out and wants to have a call with Jeff and one other guy tonight and/or tomorrow to discuss a project they've been working on. Poor guy - can't even get a break on a holiday. Those are the breaks.

2cute - Glad to hear the kids pitched in last night during the football game! The OSU game was big in our house. Jeff went to Ohio State and we are huge fans!

Tina - How'd your little hottie, Tony, do today? We rarely have the race on in our house. I do enjoy those pics of him. He's a cutie!

Thin - How was the date last night??? Hope you had a great, romantic time! Loved the Q & A of weight loss!

Kat - You've been having so much fun lately! Sailing, rides, concerts, etc! Sounds great!

Michelle - Sounds like the WW points are doing great for you! I have eaten pretty lousy today, but have also worked hard! Enjoy your walk in the morning. Hopefully it will be just as nice as today. The gym is closed tomorrow so I may take the pooches for a walk. Not Charlee --- she doesn't give me much of a workout.

Well, the vacuuming is not going to finish itself, so I've gotta jump off for now! Catch ya later!

Thumbs up bad day...

Hello ladies -

Well I THOUGHT I had a good day...UNTIL I GOT HOME and added up my points. This is only my second official day on this "diet" and I already feel like I am failing!!! I hate my scale to boot..it's one of those cheap ones that moves when you move to look down at your weight..and I have a hard time being consistent with it. Argh. I think I'm going to weigh myself every other week that way I can see some sort of noticable difference. GAH!
And to make things worse, I've worked my off this week by moving crap around and lugging stuff into the new house..I just feel like I've wasted a perfectly good week eating poorly while I've been more active than normal...I could have lost weight...and now I feel like it will be a draw It's hard to tell, I know but I just don't have a good feeling about this week. At all. And to think, I was just telling you all earlier today that I was going to do well Sunday Monday and TUesday. Note to self: never add up your points at the end of the day...I was surprised at how many points are in steak

Michelle: Sounds like you at well at your cookout!! At least you didn't eat any hotdogs or hamburgers!! ....THOSE are a lot of points

Barb: Saturday night I was out like a light!! I didn't sleep well at ALL on Friday night, I had to be up at 4 am on Saturday :/ (I took Nyquil cause I wasn't feeling well and I wanted to fell asleep fast..I don't recommend it...)

Tina: I really enjoyed your post about your day with your son How old is your other one? I think it's great...it seems like most 15 year old boys would think it "uncool" to hang out with the mom

Michelle: I think I'm going to have to try out those peanut butter thingies..I have a feeling I missed thin's post on that recipe...I'll go hunt for it...

2Cute: It must be nice to like watching sports on TV... ..it gives you time to bond with the guys..I have to admit I'm the type that absolutely cannot stand to watch tv sports

Pam: I was actually thinking about Nashville the other day, and how it would compare to a city up here...I'm big on demographics and such, but for some reason I have such a hard time thinking of Nashville has having ghetto areas ...all I can picture are men in tight jeans and cowboy hats...ha ha..I know that's not how it is, just a northern stereotype

Sorry I missed chat ladies!! I've been asleep ...I hope I have better progress to report tomorrow!!

Good Morning lovely ladies!!

Well this is my last day of my little mini-vacation, it has been just what I needed. I feel revived. I feel energized. I feel strong and motivated. Ready to take on the day and week ahead.

Not any time for individual replies, sorry, but exercise is calling me, and I have to strike while the iron is hot, if you know what I mean...if not I might be tempted to procrastinate!!! me------procrastinate, nah!!!!!.

Hope you all have a healthful day, stay

Good Morning everyone! Geez, the thread was way down at the bottom again. What's with that??? We haven't been as busy chatting as we usually are. Come on, let's get with it.

Honey and I have decided on a 30# challenge from now until Christmas. The other night in the throws of a hot and juicy (oh, I mean Big & Tasty) we decided it would be so much better if we were both 30# lighter. Oops, that was probably too much information! Sorry.

Anyway, I said, "what do you say?" and he said "30# by Christmas?" And I said, "let's go for it!"

Soooooooooooooooo, what better time to start again than the end of summer???

I'm breakin' it down. I have just shy of 4 months. It's 16 weeks. So divide it up and that's 1.875 pounds a week. I CAN do this! Anybody else up for 30 by Christmas????

Anyway, you all crunch on that for awhile. I'm off to work. Yes, on Labor Day, this old girl has 5 jobs she needs to take care of. I'm just a gluton for punishment. Since I'm the one that 'captures' my own jobs, I could just as easily not taken any today, but the guys are putting in a new storm door and it's raining so any plans we might have made would be drowned out anyway.

I'm thinking I'll go work and then come home and we'll watch movies or something.

I had mom over for dinner last night. Then we played poker for a couple of hours. She seemed to have a real good time. So did we.

Hope you guys all have a really nice holiday. Catch up with you later. Love to all.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!

Default Bumping this up...

...'cause it was WAY down at the bottom!

Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone has the day off (I don't--back to work tonight) and fun stuff planned for the day. It's raining here, but it's cool and breezy...so I don't care.

We're taking a ride up to see my daughter at school...yes...I know it hasn't even been two weeks yet, but she's close enough, so why not? We'll take her out to dinner and let her show us her nice, newly pierced nose. ...Oy...I think I'd almost prefer a tattoo....a small one, anyway. She assures me that it's really tiny and so cute. Yeah, cute. Amazingly enough...her father has taken this very calmly while I have been the raving maniac... (oh, not to her, that would only make the whole thing that much more justified!) No, I'd like for her to figure out on her own, how silly this is...Her friends got their tongues pierced, so I guess this was the less radical choice for her...and that's what I find so upsetting...the fact that she had to do something simply because her friends are doing it!

*sigh*

Gotta run......Have a great day, all!

Well today started out a lot better I had my rice krispies for breakfast and a gardenburger for lunch.

I realized today, that despite my ongoing discouragment this week, I have conditioned myself to eating differently..before when i was bored i'd go downstairs and munch on something, now i'm full and i'm gonna pick up a book instead

Well, i was just popping in to say hello to you ladies

Hello chicklets
Hope all of you are having a good day
Mine started out ok. I sent DH into McDonalds for our lunch (Big and Tastys and fries) I was eating mine and it was half raw. Boy that made me mad. I took it back into them (10 miles) and demanded my money back and told them they better hope I didn't get sick. So far so good. But I don't think I will be getting another burger there anytime soon.

Dh is doing a beer-can chicken for dinner.

Our new girl starts tomorrow at the library.

More later
