Lori: Boy things sure move fast down in the south. Up here in the North you get a speeding ticket or and OUI and you don't go to court for months and months. I can't believe he went to court so fast. And I did not realize he had done that much damage to someone....all over sex....???? Give me a break, he needs to grow up, you should have asked him what he did any other time. He has 2 hands/use them.....And what a sentence the judge passed. Does he have a history? You said you took a domestic violence councelor with you? Were you worried he would try something? Is he that dumb? Good thing you got rid of that saga of your life I guess. I sure would not want those headaches.
Actually, I am from Pennsylvania, and depending on the charges one tends to get, a preliminary hearing can usually be held within seven days. (And if a preliminary hearing is delayed three times, the charges can be dismissed, but can also be refiled.) Also, during that hearing, it can be decided whether there is sufficient evidence to waive it to further court date(s) or just go ahead and conclude the case that particular day. Evidently, both judge and attorneys agreed to conclude...whew....not to mention the judge seemed pretty PO'ed at the whole mess anyway.
It was his unusual "calmness" when I spoke to him last that had my teeth on edge of sorts; I just felt better having someone on my side in court today...especially after I saw the guy he attacked in the bar fight. Even the look he gave me, that I saw out of the corner of my eye, when he spied me talking to the DA was kind of.....spooky. Anyway, I won't have to worry about that anymore. I'm beginning to wonder if he does have a history of violence. The judge seemed to be going through a lot of papers on his case before she gave him the riot act today. Go figure. They can usually dig up about anything, so I would not be surprised.
Just popped in for a sec to say goodnight, I am pooped out, I did walk with my coworker after work, it was most pleasant, and a nice change from doing my watp alone....
I will talk with you in the am, and look forward to reading and catching up with all, nigthy night girls!
Hi guys...I really am not trying to avoid all of you. I am soooooo busy I go nonstop from the moment I wake up until I go to bed.
I am happy and proud to announce that I wake up ... go to the bathroom.... Then do 30-45 minute work out each morning. It feels GREAT !!! In fact yesterday... I worked out 3 times !!!!
I "felt" skinnier today and tried to find a scale to weigh myself ... but no luck. The only one I know about around here was broken. It is Aug 1st and I had a goal of 10 lbs foor July .... I know I did not make that goal ... but hopefully I made my 5lb average per month..... I really want to weigh ... but I am not leaving the house Friday so that won't happen. Hopefully August will be a 10 lb month for me.
I am sooooo far behind on threads there is no way to catch up ... hopefully starting next Wednesday I will be a regular around here again. Saturday we are having my granddaughters 3rd birthday party here at our new home ... so I am busy trying to get as much done as possible. My son and DIL does not realize how much work it is on an OLD, FAT, Gray haired old lady to do all of this unpacking. They are young and just takes life's pleasures (like being able to walk) for granted. They don't realize it takes 5 times the effort for me to do what they can do in a matter of an afternoon.
I had several of my new neighbors come welcome us to the neighborhood.
So much for hiding out. LOL I even volunteered to help the Neighborhood Board Association.
I made the decision to get active and start socializing. I may be fat ... but I am still a person of value. Hiding out did not make me happy ... nor did it help in my efforts to lose weight. Living in isolation contributed to my obesity. I am going to put myself out there ... and if they want to reject me because of my weight ... that is their choice ... but it will no longer be me hiding out in shame.
Pam... I think we all sometimes live in fear of rejection.... be it because of weight, race, etc, or life style choices. I am happy you shared your story with us so you can see that this is a weight loss support group ... not a moral jury. We are here to support each other .... no matter what our differences.
Andria... I am so sorry to hear about your health problems.. {{HUGS}}
Just take it one day... one step at a time. We are here for you to use as a sounding board or support system... whatever we can do for you. Good vibes are coming your way. :
Kat... Congratulations on your BIG 20 !!!! Your dinner sounded wonderful.
I personally feel an "occasional" feast like that is good for you. It keeps your body guessing. LOL Well... that is if you can stop after one meal like that. LOL
Okay... I can't reply to everyone now ... but hopefully next Wed I will be a regular again.
I have company all weekend... then going to see my mom in Missouri on Mon/Tues.
Hopefully Wed I can write a longggg post because Thursday my daughter is coming home again for a week. (but she understands my need to post)
Love you all !!!!

2cute!! glad you are getting settled in and meeting neighbors, you go girl!! you will have alot to offer them, bring good things to their group....enjoy them!! I know what you mean about the tendency to isolate, I am really putting forth and effort to get out and do more, isolation kept me eating too, but not anymore, I like you am doing this for my health, cant be bothered by what others think and feel, you are absolutely right, those are their "issues".
working out 3 times in one day, and unpacking boxes....whew lady, you are a marvel!
Natalie, today is a brand new day, yesterday's eating is just that yesterday's!! you can do it! I like your idea about having a new adventure once a month!!! Tom sounds like a great guy, and soooo lucky to have you in his life....have a great time!!
Jen, I too think you choosing the surgery was a brave move on your part, I do not have that kind of courage...whatever brings us all here together, our goals are the same....you have made the decision to be healthy, you just took another option to get there...you take care of yourself, and we welcome your input!!!!
Lori, glad to hear you got out of that situation....we ladies often times feel we do not deserve any better, but we do, you are right we are getting healthy, we are making healthier food decisions for our bodies, we should opt for making healthier decisions for our spirits (our mental well being), I say good riddance to that guy and all his baggage!!
well ladies got to go eat my cherrios, and have my wheat toast, and get this rear in gear, gotta get to walking away those pounds, up and at 'em old gal, times a wastin'!!

I missed it. I missed the 3 year anniversary of this thread. Thanks Thin for emailing me!!!! HAPPY ANIVERSARY!!!
I started this thread 3 years ago, when my son was 6 months old and I was rejoining WW for the 1 millionith time. I am still fighting the battle, but work is so crazy that I barely have enough time to breath.
I can proudly say that in total, I have lost over 80 pounds, but the last year or so, I have been just maintaining, despite having a long way to go.
I have been blessed to have met Thin, 2Cute, and others through this thread. You all are inspirations to me. Thank you!
Well, I am in training today, so I better get off the computer and start listening.
Good Morning Ladies -
It's a gray, rainy day around here. That's ok - the grass needs some watering and I am going to be inside working all day and as soon as I'm done with work I'll be back to the bedroom project. Tonight is finishing the trim work and tomorrow the wall color goes up. I've made the pattern for the valances that I am sewing and hope to have them finished by the end of the weekend. May not happened - there is a lot to do. I enjoy it, and when I get into a project like this I don't eat as much.
Not a big loss for me this week, but a loss nevertheless..... down 0.6 pounds for the week. I'll take that --- I know I didn't get enough cardio in this week. And TOM is still lurking around the corner a couple days late. Let's get it over with already!
Homebound ---- Oh sweetie....I am so sorry to hear about the difficulties with your son! I don't know what to say....{{{{HUGS}}}}}!!! If it helps just to vent, we're here!
Andria --- Hoping all goes well with your ultrasound today. Sounds like you have a lot going on right now. Take it one step at a time.
Kat --- Sounds like a wonderful anniversary celebration! Glad you had a good time!
Joanne ---- I loved your Thankful Thursday list!!!
Thin --- Yesterday's quote was great.
Quote:
"Every path hath a puddle."
Your landscaping work sounds great. And, you think I have a lot of energy....you're not doing to bad yourself!
Lori --- Thank goodness your ordeal is nearly over!!! Now you can focus on the other men you were starting to show interest in!! What about the guy you had lunch with? Since Sandy is in Maine I think us folks in PA are southerners to her!
Jen ---- It's great to hear that you are recovering and doing well! Thin took the words right out of my mouth! Please feel free to share you loss and anything else you want with us!! I am sorry it will be so long until you see your hubby again! I can't wait to find out his reaction when he comes home to a new wife - well, probably 1/2 a wife by then!
Natalie ---- It's your special night!! That is so much fun that you and Tom plan a once a month romantic night out! Have a great time!!!
Sandy --- Big {{{HUGS}}}}. I'm sorry you had such a rotten day at work and then to find out your little one is not having fun at camp! I sure hope you find out that he was really having fun and was maybe just in a bad mood when he wrote you.
Terri --- Your post last night was so cute with all the icons! Did you get to watch the Amazing Race! The octopus challenge was a bit much! I could NEVER do that!!!
I'm glad it was a non-elimination round. I'd rather see the fighting couple go next. The rest of the teams are working so well together! I'm sick of their constant bickering.
Pam --- Glad to hear you had a walking buddy last night. That's great!! I keep hinting to Jeff for us to go walk together, but I still can't get him motivated to get off his butt! I agree with you ---- looking forward to the cool fall weather --- I love the fall!!!
2Cute --- We could NEVER forget about you!!! GOOD JOB on the exercising!!! WAY TO GO!!!
Mary --- Have a great weekend away!
Susie --- Congratulations on your loss thus far!!!
Alright gals, as much as I like to stick around and gab, I need to do some work and earn my paycheck! I am meeting a couple girlfriends today for lunch!
Good to see you again 2Cute! Have a good weekend and you go girl with all your workouts!
I did, indeed, get to see the Amazing Race. I hope the Clown guys win because they seem to be having more fun than the others. Yes, I want the little red-headed b**** to lose. She is so snotty but yet, he acts like an a$$ as well. I also don't like Chip & Reichen because of how they talk about the others. They are too But....that's just my opinion.
I did tape the Family from Wednesday night. We haven't watched it yet.
I'm off from work today. Hooray! We were going to the lake today but they kept talking about rain that didn't happen and is supposed to still happen. I'm being lazy this morning. But I need to get my butt in gear and do some stuff around the house. We're headed down to the lake tomorrow and then on Sunday, have tickets to the Royals baseball game. Better get my posting in today!
I just want to invite anyone over to the August Bootcamp Challenge thread. Its a thread that focuses on setting goals, determining your strategy and working your butt off to meet those. We post our goals and what we did, or didn't do, to meet them. Small group of ladies, but since we focus on our goals, it isn't very time involved since we don't do big personal posts. I save that for here! Anyway, feel free to join us if you wish!
I better get moving around. I'll be back later to work on a big post.
Hey there girlies, just peeking in from work, I don't have a lot of time cause I'm leaving early to go get my baby.....maybe things wern't so bad after all? I hope.....
I did get a kick out of this....from Barb.

Living in the furthest Northern state I would have to say that I do think of you all as southerners....lol....or westerners....if you lived east you would be in the water....lol
Mary: Little late, but have a grand time with hubby, are you off to that hotel I saw on the net? It looked so romantic.
2Cute: Forget you Not in a million years I am so proud of you for wanting to join in on the community stuff and not hiding in the house. You go girl and do all you can do.... Good luck with the party...
Pam: Sounds like your walking trip did a good thing for your brain there. Keep up your awesome workouts girl.
Terri: Sounds like a fun filled weekend. Live it up and be happy...Enjoy life to the fullest.
Susie: Thanks for starting this thread 3 years ago. It is a wonderful place to come and loose yourself in more ways than one. Is today the official 3 year mark? So to that I will sign off with a big...
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY 300+ LADIES

Good news....I slipped comfortably into a pair of blue jeans that haven't been worn in several years! I wore them to lunch, which leads to the bad news .....my lunch w/ the girls was postponed so I met my hubby....we went to the Pizza Hut buffet. UGH! I am stuffed and miserable! However it's done with, nothing I can do now but move on. I am going to remember the great feeling of getting into the jeans and the horrible feeling of all the food and get it right next meal!! Weekends are my most difficult time. I am determined to stay OP this weekend! I am hoping the distraction of the painting will keep me on track!!!
Terri - Enjoy your day off! Sounds like you guys have a fun weekend planned. Hopefully the weather is nice for you.
Sandy - I hope all goes well with your son and camp. Let us know.
Michelle --- Are you out there??? I saw a news story the other night that made me think of you. They did a bit on an Ice Cream Shop in Levitown. I think it was called Carousel Ice Cream. They are selling a low-carb ice cream that has apparently become a big hit!
Lucky: I did see the movie with Johnnie Depp. It is Pirates of the Caribbean and YES he was definitely eye candy in that one, if you like the 'bad boy with a grin" image (it worked for me!!!)
Thin Did you see him in "Chocolate" YUMMMMMM
So far today is going good. I walked 5 miles yesterday and am getting ready for my noon walk now. I only go 1 mile at noon.
Yeah for you 2Cute, It feels good to move around, doesn't it. Ymmm Remind me I said this when I slack off.
Friday Fun: I went to go to the post office before, happened upon a sidewalk sale in the next town over. I had my son and nephew with me, so we browsed and bought a few useless items..."Bomb in a Bag." 4 for $1! Not to mention the ever popular "Fart in a Bag!" (I drew the line there...bombs yes, farts no!)
I picked up a few paperbacks...5 for $1...told the boys to pick out one book each. You'd think I asked them to chop off their thumbs! "BUT, I already have my two summer reading books!" "But, I'm reading Harry Potter!" "But, but, but..."
I prevailed. And they will read them.
I did pass the fried dough stand...where they were also offering "Fried Oreos" and "Fried Twinkies."
Why, I ask you?
Aren't people fat enough from eating this kind of stuff?? Now we need to deep fry it too???
Lucky: Was Johnny Depp dipped in Chocolate? Or did he act in Chocolat? I vote for dipped! We actually have some chocolate in a jar that came with a paint brush......oops, that was probably too much information. I'm BAD!!!!
