I love this thread - I am a coffee addict and proud of it! Like someone else mentioned, I need a lot of coffee in the morning - don't even talk to me until I've had my fill. Some more in the afternoon ain't bad either!

I've found coffee definitely suppresses appetite. And according to Weight Watchers it's a myth that it acts as a dieuretic (sp?)...they include coffee and tea in with the 6 cups of water we must have a day. But personally, I do drink extra water along with my coffee to keep really hydrated.

For those who are coffee nuts like me, here's a wonderful book that just came out: "The Healing Powers of Coffee" by Cal Orey. I just got mine from amazon, and it's a fun read: studies on coffee's health benefits, recipes, types and blends of roasts, just a hodgepodge of information.

Coffee rules.

Totally healthy in moderate amounts. Studies have shown it reduces your bloodsugar and can help prevent diabetes. If you take it within 45 minutes to an hour of your workout it can also enhance performance by mobilizing fat stores and delaying fatigue. One of my professors is doing her research right now on the benefits of caffeine in a healthy diet (she's a PhD in clinical nutrition and a RD)

Just keep it under 400mg a day and make sure you replace the water you lose, as others have mentioned. And obviously, if you put other stuff in your coffee take that into account in terms of calories. I'm lucky I like my coffee black or with almond milk!

I make iced coffee and blend up unflavoured 100% whey protein powder in it. It makes it thick and creamy...soooo good!!!

I just bought a Keurig ($88 Canadian at Walmart this week) and had my first cup last night at 6 pm. I'm a coffee drinker and usually it doesn't really give me much pep but this one had me up to 2 am and even then I wasn't tired. Not even hungry when I woke up either. So maybe it will do double duty for me

The samples that were included were all Barista Prima Coffee House Italian Roast.
