I try for 0. I would rather eat my calories, but I am a girl who loves her some milk. So every other day I have a cup of whole Goats milk for 90 calories...or if Im naughty I mix a little chocolate into it!!

<<At the time, I thought I would never ever be able to give that up.>>

I hold the same belief. The few times I've tried black coffee I didn't enjoy it at all. For the time being I'm OK with using up some of my calories for milk in my coffee, but I recently switched from whole milk to 1% without noticing much difference.

I'm still struggling with the wine part: should I reduce my daily consumption from 6 oz to 4 oz, thereby banking an extra 50 calories for food? The thing is, I really do enjoy that glass of wine, so it may be worth keeping as is. (And no, I don't have any alcoholic tendencies. I have no trouble skipping the wine on some days and never feel compelled to have more.)

I pretty much never drink my calories. I'd MUCH rather eat them. On rare occasions I'll have cereal with light soy milk or a little bit of milk in iced coffee. On a daily basis though, I'd have to say none. A cup of milk or juice just doesn't seem worth it when I can eat those calories and be much more satisfied.

I have milk with my special k cereal (twice a day), so around 200cal... but that's it!

I'd rather spend my calorie budget on solid foods that'll make me feel a bit full. So I've just been sticking to water, and having more to eat with instead hehe.

Almost none. Some mornings I have a skinny vanilla nf latte from starbucks. That has 90 cals and I rarely drink the whole thing. Either I'm drinking diet soda or water.

Wow, I am really in the minority here. Generally liquids are at least a quarter and up to one third of my daily calories.

I put heavy cream in my coffee (skimmed from the raw milk I use to make my kefir), try to drink 4 oz of red wine most days, and have a smoothie made with whole milk kefir for one meal nearly every day. The smoothie is about 300 calories (depends on what I put in it) and is very filling and satisfying. Since I added the raw whole milk kefir to my diet my cholesterol numbers have really improved.

150 - I drink 8 oz whole milk every day, usually as a snack in the afternoon. It sustains me just as long as a solid so I'm not going to give it up at this point.

Most of the time none of my calories come from liquids. I drink nothing but water unless I decide to get a box of cereal, in which case about 180 calories come from the milk (I get two bowls out of 1 bottle that contains 2 servings). The only other way I get extra calories from liquid is if I drink V8 which doesn't bother me too much. The V-Fusion I'm drinking now has 100 calories, regular V8 has 70. I figure them in on FitDay but if they push me slightly over I'm not upset, I consider them "healthy calories".

I guess I'm the minority too! I'd say 1/3 of my come from liquids..but I really enjoy a lot of liquids! I drink black coffee and water, but I also normally have a small 2% milk latte for a snack and about 3-4 nights a week i'll have a glass of wine or a light beer. I also drink soda water with a splash of juice or gingerale. That's like 400 calories worth of liquids every day.

Milk in cereal are the only calories I drink. I want to eat my calories.

I started this thread because I was hoping to reduce my liquid calories -- currently 250 out of 2,000 or one eighth -- but now I'm rethinking the whole thing. Today I realized that I really enjoy my daily glass of wine, three cups of coffee with 1% milk, and 1/4 cup juice with soda water at exercise class. I think I would feel more deprived by giving them up, or even trimming them down, than by keeping them and eating a tiny bit less. So I'll keep on keeping on for now... Thanks, everyone, for sharing your experience.

Mine are pretty high. Cream in my coffee (I like a LOT), protein shakes, almond milk, hot cocoa, smoothies, occasional alcoholic drinks... It adds up fast, but I don't feel more satisfied by getting all of my calories from solid foods.

I get plenty of food volume from all the veggies I eat (I replaced grains/starches with vegetables pretty much 100%), so I don't feel like I haven't "eaten" enough.

Unless I drink some vegetable juice, absolutely none of my calories come from liquid. I drink water, diet soda, and black coffee only. I feel too deprived food wise if I drink calories when I could be eating them.
