Hi Ladies,

Not understanding how things work here on Miscellaneous Clubs, I don't know if we can run more then one thread at the same time, so I will just start my Christmas Challenge right here!

If anyone wants to join me just jump right in. My starting weight as of today is 171. I will lose 8 lbs by Christmas! My weigh in day will be every Friday -

Starting date 11/3/02 - 171

Nov. 8, 170, not much, but it's a start

Nov. 15

Nov. 22

Nov. 29

Dec. 6

Dec. 13

Dec. 20

Dec. 25 End of challenge weight! Merry Christmas

This is only one pound a week, I can do this if I stay motivated, and focused and keep my goal in mind - I know I will have to eat less and exercise more, I will do it, we all can do this together, come on any one who likes a challenge, join me - WE CAN ALL DO THIS TOGETHER! Lets get trimmer and more physically fit for the new year. Now is the time to really put our best effort into it.
Good luck to all of us for an op day! an op week! and an op month! Just one meal at a time, one day at a time, one pound at a time. Any loss, no matter how small will be an accomplishment! Even holding your own is an accomplishment, So don't ever get discouraged, just keep trying! DON'T GIVE UP

Bye all, my treadmill awaits!

I can't believe it..hubby was trying out the mower while i was out shopping and he reversed too close to the bank (only a little one..thank god) went A over T and the mower landed on top of him..cut his leg open but i was that mad when i got home that i told him i was'nt bothered about his bl**dy leg and was my mower alright..thankfully they both are he's had strict instructions to play with the mower he bought for himself and to leave my little one alone think i'll be mowing and pulling broom today..it's taken over again while i was AWOL

Good luck with getting rid of all that broom, once it takes root it never seems to go away. We have a similar problem with thistles in the back garden - not quite on the same scale as yours.

Have stuck to program today, but have eaten strange things, had two coronation chicken sandwiches and a mini mars bar for dinner - so much for being healthy.

Am feeling much better, but very tired. When the tumble dryer finishes I can re-fill it and go to bed - am just hoping it doesn't take too much longer.

Default Christmas Challenge

Hey Ladies,

O.K.-- I am ready for the Christmas challenge.
I have no idea what my current weight is, but I do fill like I have lost some weight, I was able to get some jeans on, with the zipper. I would like to loose 15lbs by Christmas, if I keep it up at the gym, I will make it.
Plus I started back with my points-I am sticking with it for the next two months, I am going to do this.
A new me for a new year, forget about the New Year's Resolution to get the weight off, I am doing it before and my resolution will be to KEEP IT OFF. so ladies, let's join forces and conquer this battle of the bulge.
Have a good "OP" day

Slim

Hi ladies,

Well, I met with my new doctor, he is much easier to talk to and he really did listen, so that is a plus. He said to take it slow and we started with blood work up today. He is evaluating my meds and I am to continue with my way of eating for now... and am to see him again in 6 months..or before if it need be. So we will see. He said he understands the frustration I am feeling but the main thing is to be healthy and to lose it healthily, is that a word?

Anyway, these next couple months are going to be miserable. Good thing I have my Christmas shopping just about done, cause DH is having knee surgery on the 20th of this month. And DS is having back surgery on the 4th of Dec. out of town. So I have to get him there and then get him home for 3 months of recuperating. My other DS and DGS are coming home on the 20 th of Dec. for 10 days for the holidays, my DS will be home from college on the 12th of Dec. and his girlfriend on the 21st. I will be very busy, hopefully don't give in to the stress and eat my way out of the old year... I am counting on you ladies to be my strength and keep me on the *wagon* so to speak. Course with running up and down the stairs caring for two invalids... I should get my exercise in. And with a two year old in the house.... oy vie....

My scale is pretty much on target..with the doc's...so at least I know if it shows a loss it is true.... course other way works also.

Well, I have some work to do..so best get to it... will be glad with the new year here,, hopefully it will be a better one for us.

Hope everyone is having a good *op* day.

Today has been so good it has been wicked. Lost 3.5lbs, been to the fireworks in the park - no bonfires this year due to the threatened firemen strike and I've had a doughnut - I am easy pleased.

Hope everyone else has had a good one

Hi everyone,

I am back and what a fantastic weekend! I was in Ottawa at an International Education conference. It was great fun and so interesting to meet other educators who are working internationally.

I did pretty well food wise. The workout room in the hotel was very hot so I found I could only stand to do 20 mins on the treadmill but I think I sweated off a few more pounds in the heat! The treadmill faced a huge window overlooking the Parliament buildings. On Sunday it was snowing and the view was breathtaking.

I am up for the Christmas challenge. I have to get off this plateau I seem to be on. I am aiming for 10 lbs. Is that almost a clothing size?

Welcome to newcomers and welcome back those who have been taking a break. Hey, Pam, Terry, Carol, Grandma, Dahlia, Meg, Cat and anyone else I missed.

Cheers,
Karie

Default Good Morning

Good Morning Ladies,

I think I have this figured out , if i can jump on the computer right when I get to work I can check ibn before my day gets hectic and not have to worry about trying to check in when I get home in the evening, especially not getting off until 5:30, I hate going home in the dark.

Made it to the gym this morning--I am doing good, only did 35 minutes, but it was a hard 35 minutes-I still did almost 2.5 miles so that was pretty good, I have started doing a little running so that will be good.

Karie--That Education Conference must have been interesting
I hope 10lbs is a clothing size off that would be excellent on my part-I would love that.

Smileing Sal-Congrats on the weight lose-Keep It Up

RubyBlue--Welcome aboard-hope this is what you are looking for-it has worked for me.

Dahlia--You are going to be quite the busy woman-just do not get stressed out, we will keep you in our thoughts during your hectic time.

Well ladies, must get some work accomplished.

My nephew is in from MI-going to stay until Monday-so I will have company for a few days--my husband will be leaving on Sunday to go to Las Vegas-wish I could go, but was not fitting into my schedule-too much worry trying to wander about getting the girls to and from school-maybe some day I will get there.

Have a good "OP" day.

Slim

Just a quick hello = am taking the boys for their swimming lessons tonight. I don't really get a swim, just a splash around with one while the other has his swimming lesson - figure it is better for me than sitting on the couch.

Hardly sat still at work today, got to be useful towards burning off a few calories

Need to go grab something to eat so I'm not tempted by those chips when I come out.

Hi Ladies,

Things seem pretty quiet here in our new home, "Miscellaneous Clubs" Just a quick check in before I get to work on this house! It needs a good cleaning, and I am going to start with my gallery. I need to redo my wall displays Many things have recently come back from shows and I have an over abundance, with things piled against the walls. Not enough hang space! Between my paintings and dh photos.

Dahlia, it sounds like you have a rough time ahead. Good luck to all your family with their surgerys. My prayers will be with all of you. You have been doing so well, and I know it hasn't been easy, but you can do it, and we are all here for you when you need to sound off! I know the feeling of wanting to eat when stressed. That has always been one of my problems!

Ruby welcome, I think you will like it here, everyone is so friendly and encouraging. I have found it to be so helpful to me in my weight loss journey.

Karie, your weekend sounded both educational and fun. How is your work coming on you Christmas show? I still look forward to seeing some of your glass art. I can't really picture it, I don't think I have seen anything quite like what you described. When you get the pictures entered, please let me know how to view them. Last weekend was the public tv art auction. Usually I give several prints to it, but this year I didn't, so I didn't watch all of it (several nights), like I normally would. But from what I did see, things went very low, many of them way under value. Even some of the originals. It must have been very disapointing for the artist.

It is really cold here this morning. We have our wood fire going! We had some snow yesterday, but not much more then a ground covering.

Congratulations Smiling Sal on the weight loss, keep up the good work.

Hi to Slim, Cat, Terry, Floridachick and any one else I missed, hope you all have an op day.

Hi there--- I found you!!! I told you this was all new to me but here I am again and sooo glad I founf you. I'm going on a business trip with my husband on Sat. It's to Germany and we'll be there for a week. I plan on watching my sugars while I'm there but I know better than to set myself up. I seem to have more cravings since my Doctor took me off the estrogen. I was on it for 10 years so this is a pain to go through all this estogen withdrall again. Has anyone else had this problem? I will take the christmas challenge and will make up for the trip when I get home. Thank you all for all your kind words, I really enjoy reading what everyone has to say. Laurie
