Thanks for catching that. Tonight, I'll look at my Cal-Mag bottle again ... in bright light and with a magnifying lens if needed and will confirm that it is correct from my bottle or upload an updated spreadsheet. Volunteer labor, you get what you pay for!
Not a problem. I just don't want to see people taking too much calcium (I'd have to pop 12 of my GNC tablets to get to 3000mg, which puts me over on the magnesium, and the Vitamin D). Since calcium can increase constipation (which is the last thing we IPers need!), it's a cause for concern.
Thanks for the volunteer labor. I'm sure we'll get it straightened out.
The more I look replacement vitamins, the more I like the Natura stuff. The prices are pretty comparable with what I find at GNC. And little things like magnesium citrate vs. magnesium oxide, which means by taking Natura you're getting chelates which are generally more soluable and easier to absorb.
Cal-Mag: Each tablet contains 750mg calcium citrate.
According to google the recommended daily intake is 1000mg, and you shouldn't go an excess of 2500mg... So wouldn't I be okay with only 2 cal-mags a day rather than 4?
There is 200 mg calcium carbonate in the potassium and 42mg calcium citrate in the multivitamin..

I just checked my bottle ... we're both correct. Each tablet contains 750 mg of calcium citrate (my number), which provides 150 mg of elemental calcium (your number). You can't sell elemental calcium; exposed to air, it oxidizes so rapidly it bursts into flame!
So when people are looking at a replacement, they should look for something that does provide 3,000 mg of calcium citrate daily or 600 mg of elemental calcium daily.
Trying to compare elemental mineral proportion of the different mineral salts (oxide vs. citrate vs. HVP chelate vs. picolinate vs niacinate ... ) requires more chemistry expertise than I have.
I take 4 Calcium supliments. They are 1000mg per caplet. Which is 100% daily value. The ones I take say (from Calcium Carbonate & Citrate)
I need to have extra calcium anyway, so it is looking like I am taking 4000mg per day. !!SUPERWOMAN!!!!
I ran out of Natura Cal-Mag, and went to Walgreen's to see if I could find something comparable and cheaper. I finally gave up and said WTH I'm just going to go to my clinic and get what I KNOW is the right amounts of the right thing.
Okay, okay. Hold up. The spreadsheet says that 1 Cal-Mag tablet has 750mg of calcium citrate, which seemed REALLY HIGH to me. So I checked this morning at WI, and the serving of 4 tablets of Natura Cal-Mag only has 600mg of calcium citrate, meaning each tablet would have 150mg, not 750mg.
Confirmed. My USA bought bottle says 600 MG CALCIUM CITRATE.

I am confused. Why is the calcium citrate in my natura considered elemental? I just get the 600mg a day of CALCIUM CITRATE, total, in the 4 tabs of natura so, why should I look for a supplement of 3,000mg calcium citrate??

My belief is to maximize the benefits of the diet, meaning when making a radical change why not know 100% that you're doing everything that you're supposed to.
I encourage all to take the Natura supplements all throughout the diet. If you are not getting the right amounts it can cause issues.
I believe through all the supplements you get 884 mgs of calcium (600 through Cal mag, 200 through pot.-calc. and 84 through the multi-vitamin. The other 112 mgs would come from the vegetables that you're eating.
There's a book called the Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements that I would highly recommend if you're really "into" wanting to know supplement quality. this summarizes the testing that has been done on most all vitamins.

Not sure if this was answered or not, but Calcium CITRATE 750mg is equivalent to 150mg Elemental Calcium which would be up to the 1000mg.
There is a big difference between elemental, citrate and carbonate, so you must make note of the difference.
