I am getting this warning too. Norton says 3fc has 28 virus'/threats. Yikes. Not sure what's what here. Thanks for checking this out.

This is NOT just a Norton thing. Something really bad is going on!

I accidentally clicked on a link to a 3FC blog this afternoon and this box came up that said it was scanning my computer, then asked if I wanted to download antivirus software to clear what it found. I clicked no, closed out, and then I couldn't go anywhere. It kept saying everything was infected. I couldn't even get in my non-Internet stuff - documents, pictures, or music. I rebooted and can't even log in my password to get on my computer now. It's fried.

Holy sh**! We got that virus on our computer at work (not related to 3FC) a couple of months ago. IT IS BRUTAL!!! It will not go away, and just gets worse and worse over time, and pretty soon you can't access any of your files. We had to reboot our computer twice (yes, it came again after the first time)! Is someone on the problem?? This is only related to the blogs right, we're safe on the forums?? Because I definitely do NOT want that virus on my precious laptop, I won't be able to survive without all of my information

Just stay away from the blogs then, you definitely don't want that virus! Ohhh the bad memories...I hope this gets fixed fast!

I'm not tech and am not speaking officially here, but would like to mention that the Norton website says this problem is only a problem if your computer is not up to date. (If I'm reading it correctly) The code apparently looks for vulnerabilities in your OS or browser. The solution, according to Norton, is to make sure your computer is up to date.

Please don't think I'm trying to remove blame from this end and pass it on to the user when I point this out. This is scary and hopefully nothing, but if it is nothing it's still a kick in the pants to make sure we all update our computers. I don't know what has happened to the blogs, and I don't know why tech has not shut them down yet. If someone's computer gets something installed after having visited something on this website then I really do feel awful about it. But I do want to point out that this can happen anywhere on the internet, and this is unfortunately common

If you use Internet Explorer, please choose a different browser. IE is well known for vulnerabilities such as what this one seems to be targeting.

If you use Firefox or another browser, please make sure you are using the very latest version. Any browser is safer than IE, but all must be current.

When I upgraded my Firefox last week, Firefox told me I also needed to update my installation of Adobe Flash because of a vulnerability that could leave me open to attacks. That could possibly be what is happening here. Update your browsers, update your Flash, etc etc etc. Make sure your firewall is on and your antivirus is current.

Hopefully someone from tech will give us an update soon.

I called Norton yesterday - because on my laptop (internet explorer and norton) I was getting the threat message. However, on my desktop, (firefox and McAfee) I get no warning.

The person at Norton went into my computer from where he was and then checked 3fc. He said that there are virus' somewhere at the 3fc and to let the site know. Also, he said that Norton can't remove the virus' from the site of course, only the site can do this. Norton, can however - warn you about the virus'.

Hopefully, some of this information can help the techs maybe?

My Internet Explorer and Norton are up to date and I am still getting the warning?? Hmmm...who knows??

Norton is great, but they are also known for "false positives" in which they play 'better safe than sorry' and will pin a label to something they don't recognize - just in case. There is definitely a concern here, but it may not be what it seems.

It sounds like Firefox and McAfee are a safer combination. IE, whether current or not, will always be a security risk in some manner.

The diet blogs offer a large number of themes for users to choose from. A couple of those themes appear to have been altered to insert extra code. If you visit one of those blogs, your browser is going to see that code. And in this case, we can see it too. Your browser will behave erratically and this will trigger Norton. Whether or not any damage is done is yet to be seen. That is probably where having up to date software will be most helpful.

I'm going to go ahead and close this thread because it will probably be easier for tech to reference it this way, and hopefully they will update us soon.

Thank you all for your input, it will all be helpful!
