Yeah, I recently picked up my 60-pound daughter to carry her around for fun for a few minutes, then said disbelievingly to my husband (huffing and puffing), "I used to carry around more than this every day!"

Time to stop underestimating yourself, it sounds like! Good work

Thanks so much everybody!

I don't know if any of the other moms can relate to this but kid carrying has always sort of been a sore spot for me. When you are really obese, you can't really hitch your kid on your hip the way most people do, because there really isn't a hip there to sit on, if you are built the way I used to be. I always carried my kids in front, basically sitting on my two arms. It always bothered me that once they got bigger, three and four, I could not carry them as long as other moms... I was always putting them down and asking them to walk-- I always worried when I had one who was totally over tired and wanted to be carried a long way-- especially if up a hill...when I was younger, I used to have pretty good stamina even though heavy, but fat and in my forties, I wasn't too terrific at carrying my littlest one.

So realizing how easily I could carry my son now, that was just a huge victory...
