Good morning ladies,

I am doing ok just wanted to come on here and let everyone know that i lost 3.4 lbs this week and I am soo happy to finally be in the 270's and I cant wait only 5 more lbs and i will be at 60 lbs lost.

I did get some bad news on saturday i went back to the doctor to have my blood pressure checked and it is still high so they put me on some medication and I have to go back in two weeks to see if the medicine is helping and they will adjust it then if it needs to be but the doctor told me as far as diet and exercise that I am doing well and to keep going with that cause there is a good chance that after i lose all my weight that my blood pressure will go back to normal and I can be taken off the medication.

Well, that is about all from here we are expecting 6-10 inches of snow today and tomorrow so my exercise will be shoveling...ughhhh

talk to you ladies next week
Heather

This is sooooo true. We always tend to think our problems stem from one thing and when you are overweight it is easy to pin it on that. I have learned myself that while losing weight helps, all the same problems that have nothing to do with weight are still there.

Hiya my Peeps!

The DC area is predicted to have 15 more inches of snow on top of the 30 inches we got last Friday and Sat. Oh joy. 'Rents and I went out to the regular grocery store and it was chaos! People were acting all panicky and buying everything. I was lucky to get a carton of eggs! Of course, I forgot kitty treats.

I'm on pureed foods today. I found some no preservative guacomole and will be making deviled eggs later.

heatherb, don't worry about the meds for BP. It's best to prevent the damage high bp can do and then work on lowering it other ways while the meds do their job.

Annie, yay for sore muscles and exercise! Sorry your tummy is a wee upset. I've found the one protein drink I can tolerate is Champion Stacked banana scream (very light nanner taste) and then combine with unsweetened almond milk (regular or choc).

Catherine, sorry the detox was awful. Yes, the home-pot advantage is always nice when intestines rebel.

Cyn, hope you feel better soon.

Hugs to all! I lubs you,
Ratkity

Cyn-after I had my gallbladder taken out, I had trouble for two years. It was so regular in the morning, that I had one of my college professors wonder if it was morning sickness. I went through a bunch of immodium back when it was prescription only. I eventually learned which foods caused trouble. I also found it got worse when I was nervous, upset, or too hot, for some weird reason. I actually found something cold to the back of my neck and hyperventilating slightly made the cramping pass without having to run to the bathroom.

I have been up since about 4:30 am and was going to stay in bed...it's raining and I'm crampy and my left leg hurts so bad (muscle and nerve pain). I am really glad that I made myself get up, and out to the gym! I couldn't find my lock for the locker and so I ALMOST said "Screw it!" but decided to grab my suit and go to an aqua sculpt class and I am SO GLAD I did!

My body feels much better. My leg still hurts but everything else feels better. I'm gonna try and go 5 days a week. If I make at least 3 I will be happy with myself!

Okay, I think I didn't miss anyone and if I did, I am SORRY!!!

The past few months have really honestly sucked for me with health problems. I woke up this morning making a decision to do my best to live my life like I was before the health problems started as best as I can. I have been letting life get me down and I am tired of it. I am such a positive person and I have stayed away from here for so long for fear of bumming people out but I want to be back and focus again on health.

I had my gastro scope on Friday and I have no ulcers.
Thank you! I'm excited about being out of the 300's, then, out of the 200's! Yay for you for NO ULCERS!!! The part of your post that I put in bold really resonates with me. Hope things look up for both of us!

I am SO excited for you! That must be such an amazing feeling.

They ended up with better prognoses than the group that had the surgery. I think there are lots of things that doctors don't understand, or they do, but take the easiest path. If it is gallbladder, you can sometimes make it feel better if you eat artichokes and beets. They help balance bile in the body.

I've gotten the house cleaned up from the party, and all the leftovers have been weighed and portioned into ziplocks, and into the freezer. I'm so not interested in eating it anyway. I've got a paper due tomorrow, so I'd better get after it.

Yay for getting back on the horse! Is 1800 calories enough for you? That seems low...Are you feeling better?

He also said that it will get better over time. How much time though? Years??? I am so thankful I have co-workers that understand when I leave my desk 5 times a day I am not just jacking off.
I had my gall bladder taken out in 2002 and am still in some ways having trouble. Although since I've been eating better and losing weight they have gone down dramatically. The foods that I ran into a lot of trouble with tended to be high-fat foods, like pretty much any fast food, or a big burger, that kind of thing. Those would have me absolutely sprinting for the bathroom. Now that my fat intake is more reasonable I don't have nearly the problems that I used to. It will take you a while to figure out which foods trigger your problems, and which are safe, but it is definitely worth doing, especially when eating on a road trip or something like that.

Add me to the list of people without a gallbladder. I had mine taken out in 1995. I still to this day can't eat some things the same as I did before. However, I am OK with that because I was about to cut the thing out of my body myself if they hadn't done the surgery when they did. It was prior to having children so I did not have anything to compare the pain too, but now that I have had 3 kids all via c-section I can say the pain is right up there with childbirth. Once I had an "attack" I would be out of commision for 24-36 hours. The biggest food that gives me issues are green leafy vegtables, so salads have been tricky. Iceberg lettuce is the worst and I won't use it in my salads. I also have to eat them in moderation which is hard on a diet. It does get better with time though.

Thanks for the advice yall!!

I went to the GI dr today. Atleast he spoke to me not like the otther one. He is checking me for Celiac Disease. He said that some of the problems could be from the gallbladder gone..BUT since it started before that it could be IBS. He also put me on an antibiotic for 21 days. He said that that helps alot if you have IBS. He also told me to start the probiotics. Like acidulphalis. Sorry I know I spelled it wrong. He said that the "things" on my arm are a fungus but he doesnt think they are from yeast. He also said for me to journal everything I eat. Make a follow up in a month. I started to cry a little in the office. He said if I dont have the Celiac, that is is going with IBS. He was able to pull all my testing up from everytime I was in ER. He said there is no reason to retest for what they had done.

He looked at me when I began to tear up. I said to him..I know sometimes Dr's dont have all the answers, but I am really hoping he can help.

He said he wants me exercising everyday. Even if it is a 10 min stroll around the block. I have no excuse except being lazy. He seems to think the probiotics will really help. Which my regular Dr said they would.

I told him..I dont even enjoy food anymore. That is the truth! Eating to me is just a hastle..but something we have to do.

My Grandpa told me when I was a teenager..one day..you will eat to live..not live to eat..I am almost at that point!

I FORGOT to add that I lost weight again. I asked if it could be from the diarrea..he said maybe. BUT if I am eating even a little different then before I can loose. It is weird loosing weight! I have lived with it so long.

Good Morning all,

Heather: Congrats on the -3.4! I am so happy for you. I agree with your Doc. Once you get your weight down to a healthier number I bet you will be able to get off the meds.

Cyn: I am glad that you seem to have found a Dr. that is paying attention to what you are telling him. I hope you have the answers soon. Hugs.

Organized: How are you doing on your new "thinking" I have been doing pretty well with it. I have exercised daily since I made up my mind to be as healthy as possible.

Rat: I hope that your new diet goes down well! Hugs and stay warm.

Passionista: Woo hoo. I am so happy for you making yourself go to the pool. Way to go.

Cath: Hi there.

Okay guys all this gall bladder talk is making me a bit nervous. My Dr thinks that may very well be the problem with me. He said that often times when you lose a lot of weight your gall bladder starts giving you trouble. I hope that my diet of lean, lean and not much fats will help me to not have problems with it if it does have to come out. I got my tests scheduled for next week. On Monday I have the ultrasound and on Thursday (next week) I have the one where they put dye into you and watch how your gall bladder reacts.

It is just about 7 a.m. and I have already scrubbed our bathroom and dusted our bedroom, changed the sheets on our bed and the doggies beds and done 2 loads of laundry! I am so happy to have the biggest chores done. My nephew is still in bed and the doggies are both asleep so I am going to clean the hall bathroom and dust the rest of the house so when everyone wakes up I will only have to vacuum and mop! Well, continue to do laundry too. lol.

Blessings all and have a safe, warm and wonderful day,
Annie

G'morning peeps!

The sun is shining again in the DC area.. shining down on all 45+ inches of snow we got this week! ack. Do you know DC and Philly got more snow this week than some Colorado ski slopes have on the ground currently? I know they are jealous.. hehe.

I can't help my 78 yr old dad shovel and he has a bad back. He hired 3 peeps driving around in their car looking for work. Yay Dad! He's working on the back steps for the dogs and a path to the generator incase we lose power. I'm not worried about power loss now.

Dad got the cars cleaned off and started Mom's van. They are planning to go home tomorrow. They have been so helpful. I'm glad they came! I am wanting my house back though lol. I live in an 850 sq ft house with one potty. I think us 3 adults are doing pretty good synchronizing potty and shower use.

Cyn, I hope they find the cause of all your troubles. Because the surgery I had does increase the chance of the runs, there are 2 major recommendations for plugging up. One is the probiotic called Primal Defense Ultra. It's found in the refrigerated section of health food stores. This is the most awesome probiotic out there. Keep it in the frig. The other thing at the health food store is chia seeds. Yes, same seeds that makes chia pets.. hehe. They are full of soluble fiber! Great great stuff. You can put a tsp in water and it forms a tasteless gel to put in yogurt, or sprinkle on crunchy cereals. No taste. promise! Cyn, we can team up and do our 10 min of exercise together, ok?

Annie, indeed, your low fat diet may have borked your gall bladder. I'm on ursodiol to keep the cholesterol in my gall bladder stirred up so it doesn't make stones. I'm on this for 6 months. I've never had troubles, but my sisters all have and they aren't even overweight. Keeping prayers up for you. It's not like you to be feeling so blah. Too many things hitting you at once. *hugs*

Hugs to all!

Things are going great. Since I started wearing the armband on 1/29/2010 I have lost 6 pounds. Where the 2 weeks before I had lost 0. I am loving it.

Indeed you very well can cause gallstones when dieting. That is what they told me when I had mine out. I had lost about 40 pounds prior to having my gallbladder attacks and I was almost below 200 at that time when it flared up. They told me that low fat weight loss tends to "stir" them up. If this is your problem though, at least know that removing it can make a world of difference. I know it did for me. Hope the test results get you some answers, I know how frustrating that can be.

That's when I lost my gallbladder, when I became a vegetarian in college. I went from the typical Okie all bacon grease diet to almost a vegan overnight. It confused my body horribly. I couldn't even breathe when I had an attack. It felt like I had been stabbed clear through with a lance. It took them forever to figure out what I had. I was finally diagnosed by an old army nurse who volunteered at our college's infirmary. When she heard my description of the pain, she said, "that's your gallbladder deary. I'll go tell wonderboy what's wrong with you." She called all the young doctors wonderboy or sonny boy. I guess she trained in a time before cat scans and dye tests when people had to take the time to listen to your symptoms first.

My gallbladder came out in 03. I still have rounds of trouble from losing mine.I had so many test done after h aving it removed.I was still in so much pain. After finding nothing wrong they diagnosed me with IBS. I took librex for a few years daily. I now take it as needed. I know soft drinks( diet) are a trigger food for me.I also cant go out and eat fried fish or anything like that.I end up in the bathroom. I have also found taking fiberchoice tablets really help me.

Evening all..

I TRULEY love yall!! Not just cause yall have had gallbladder problems..LOL..but because I know everyone here truley listens!

I went to the store last night and bought Jillian Michaels new book. It has been on hold so long at the library. I started reading it today..its very interesting!

Hubby and I started walking tonight. I got home from work..and there he was sitting on the couch ready to go. I love his support!

I had a little chat with the religious guys that come by here and talk to my son. It is the same religion that his EX is. They didnt know that was going on with his EX. They told me to pray..I told them I do. I think I threw them for a loop when I went outside and laid a big old load on them. Poor 19 year old kids listening to a middle aged women cry her eyes out! They say they will come back..we shall see.

I started the probiotics (Rat will check on the one you said also) I really hope they help.

LAST: I really hope we all start seeing improvments in our health!! WE ALL DESERVE THAT!
