Somehow, "turn your head and cough" pales by comparison!!
It's a very low-key day around here. Shopped til we all dropped yesterday, so I'm taking it easy! Just some light cleaning and the never-ending laundry pile. I swear, that stuff multiplies when nobody is looking!!

Jiff you and peach (kids are welcome)drive up to my house for the weekend and stay!! we will leave the kids with DD and hit the mall to see dottie and ruth and anyone else that can do it!! give me somew time to figure out what my schedule will be and then we can start to plan it!! DH will probably run!! LOL but that will be his loss!!
Car is fixed wow he cme to the house and did it all in the drive way no going anywhere but to the store to buy the parts. now to pack DS1 then drive. YES BFG I will think of you. I am going to meet them at the rogers center so I will look at the fish and think of you. then off back home to send the last kids swimming while i do the rest of the stuff.

It was a terrific afternoon....... Dottie beat me to the restaurant, but as soon as I walked in - there she was! We saw Jif and Peach walking up the block a little later....... I felt sooo bad for the poor waitress! She kept on coming to the table, but we were so busy talking that we weren't ready to order for ages!! If you want to know what we ate, you'll just have to go to the menu thread!!!
The one thing I must definitely say here is that it was such a joy to meet those 3 absolutely lovely ladies! Thanks, girls - I had a wonderful afternoon.......

We had a wonderful time, just talked and talked and talked! Peach is beautiful and sweet and Jiff is elegant and fun and Samsgrama is warm and pretty and everyone felt like old friends immediately.
We ate some good chicken and ribs and then walked a few blocks away to this fabulous Italian pastry store and had iced coffees and treats. I was the worst one, but I will just say that I wasn't alone!
And we talked about EVERYONE! And we want to go to Syracuse, or Las Vegas, or New Orleans or Denver or how about Albequerque? Seattle? San Fransisco?
Well, start budgeting girls, this is going to be fun!
Yes, I think we should all start saving our nickels. I have gotten to meet a few chicks these past few months and I can not tell you how much I have enjoyed each and everyone of them! Janice said that it was more like a reunion than a meeting and she is so right. (where is Janice? Has anyone heard from her?)
For you hurler fans out there....samsgrandma is a true Met fan...she HATES the Yankees...but, I liked her anyway! Lots of fun and lots of energy!
We talked ALOT...didn't eat a thing ...although I suspect Dottie may have sneaked in a few carbs and is feeling the effect with using words like beautiful and sweet and stuff like that! But! thank you Dottie, it was nice of you to say...feel better soon ! It was a real pleasure meeting you in person and as it is with all the chicks I have met so far...you are all true to your words which I think is really neat!

with each and every chick meet, it's been introductions and then we all dive right in for yacking and gabbing and joking!!!!
there's not been a second of awkwardness or lack of warmth. i've LOVED every single person i've met face to face, and they're even more fab in person than in type.
so, having said that. meeting dottie and samnrosies grandma, well, it was nonstop talk and laughter. and seriousness, and concern and happiness. peachie and i found a parking space directly across from the restaurant [in the shade no less!!!!], and by the time we crossed the street [and that cab missed us by a mile. well, two yards, maybe], dottie was out there hugging us!!!
and then followed by samnrosies grandma... more hugs. and then that sweet waitress had the NERVE to interrupt us to ask if we wanted something to drink.. and she had to try several times to get our attention [poor thing!!!]
dottie and samnrosiesgrandma each have the warmest blue eyes. gorgeous, smart, funny, wonderful, wise, kind...
but i agree with peachie... dottie must have eaten something weird... sweet?????? elegant????? HA!!! but peachie really is beautiful, even though she refused to put on lipstick for the pics.
now, a word of warning for all you polite southern chicks... there's something about the folks up here... we all talk at the same time. there were always at least two conversations going at the same time. across the table, around the table, all over. and we jump from one to the other, and back again. what fun!!!!
we hung out for 4 hours, and it seemed as if only about 15 minutes had passed!!!
i'm so ready to do this again. and loving the idea of a fall meet...
it means so very very much to me to be meeting the wonderful ladies who have been such a source of strength and wisdom during the 'challenges' of the past couple of years.
but now, a brief lecture: SHERRIE!!!!!! rest up!!!!!! be careful!!! take your vitamins and iron!!!! don't make ruthie and janice come down there with metal bras and chicken purses!!!!
Why the heck don't y'all meet in Las Vegas next time? At least that would be within range for me. If I left right now for Syracuse (where the heck is it anyhow?), I just might get there by mid-September.
Oh gosh, what a lazy day I've had! DH was working (as usual) and it was pouring outside most of the day so after doing the dusting I've been promising myself to do for a week I have played on the computer, had an ICQ chat with my younger daughter's MIL in S. Africa, made low carb ice cream, read a good book, did some shopping for Atkins products (chocolate shake mix) and took an evening nap. I returned three swimsuits that I bought yesterday thinking they'd fit so no need to try them on and they didn't. I think I'm going to start a line of swimsuits for oddball shapes. I will call the line Fruit Fashions and the ones labeled with a Pear will be for my kind of shape. The ones labeled with an Apple will be for that kind of shape and the ones labeled with oohhh, what's an upside down pear shape? Papaya maybe? will be for those ladies who are bigger on the top. They will also come in short, medium and long waisted styles too. Those suits I brought home to try on looked real nice (on the hangers!!!). On my body, all the stretch was used up just fitting over my bottom half so I could barely pull the bra part up far enough to cover me and, of course, it flattened what little I have on top. NOT a pretty sight! The reason I didn't try them on in the store was because I'd just tried on three suits in another brand that DID fit but I hadn't liked them so naturally I assumed that these three would fit also. NOT!!!
