My 17 weeks is up tomorrow, but I asked yesterday and was told that since I've been coming in twice a week for the past 17 weeks, bringing my food journal with me religiously and I'm only 10 pounds away, they'll keep working with me and won't make me re-sign.

I am kind of frightened, though, about what will happen once I reach my goal and go to stabilization. Since my weight loss has been so minimal even on this restricted diet, I'm afraid I'm going to gain once I cut back on my HNS and re-introduce more food into my diet.

Can anyone give me any insight to that?

Also, I have a couple brothers who would like information on MRC but can't really afford it, nor is there a center close to them. I have the beige and green menus, but would like a copy of the other menus above the beige one. Could someone help me out with those?

Thanks!

It is funny you mention the stabilization weight gain thing, because I just asked that question to my counselor last week about if they weight will pile back on when they add the food back. She told me no it won't and please don't worry about it.. It made me feel better.. I would hate to think we spent all this money and time relearning new habits, only to have the weight come back on again.. I think I would shoot myself!

Women are supposed to lose 1-2 pounds per week. So if you're losing 1 to 1.5 pounds, you're doing just fine. I'm in the last 10lbs and it's only 1-2 pounds per week for me now. Guys are supposed to lose 3-5 pounds per week. (Women only lose 1-2 pounds per week because they're supposed to carry bodyfat because they are in childbearing years.)

Keep Looking Up!

This has been a slow process for me also. I do get depressed (even though I'v lost 22 lbs, isn't that silly) because I can't eat what "normal" people eat or go out with my friends and have a drink. But, I pick myself back up and trudge onward because I realize that losing 1-2 lbs a week is a healthy weight loss and I will be more apt to keep it off.
I agree with what others are saying about stabilization. Once I'm in that part of the program, will I go "hog wild" and gain back my weight?

iluvindiana,
The consultant I talked to about stabilization told me that they gradually add different types of foods back so that your body doesn't "freak out" and gain a bunch of weight. I'm hoping that this is true...we've all worked too hard to put it back on when we start to eat more normally again.
