Sorry this happened.

I've not had it happen...yet! But I have always been prepared. lol. Especially in certain outfits that definately made me look more pregnant...I always figured I'd just say, "Nah, not pregnant, just fat. But thanks for that. "

heh.

I know, it's so terrible! Just never never never never ask!

My poor mother, who KNOWS better, slipped up and did this last year! She had gone to visit my brother, Mark and his wife Giselle. Giselle's sister is there. She is NOT fat, but she's definitely got a rounder build than Giselle. She was wearing one of those trendy babydoll shirts. So...my mom makes the fatal blunder. Dead silence. And Giselle's sister says "no, not pregnant." My poor mom. She says "I bet you'll never wear that shirt again!"

And then in the car, we both swore to each other - NEVER NEVER NEVER comment!!!

Back in the 90s, when I was NOT FAT. I weighed about 150-160 lbs. I was working at this company with a real ***** of a lady. She was really *****y! I was wearing one of those loooong tunic shirts which were popular at the time, over a pair of wide legged pants. I thought it was a pretty cute outfit, actually. UNTIL this *****y woman said "everytime you wear that, I always think you're pregnant!" Uh, okay - toss THAT outfit.

She was just an inappropriate commenter, in general. Another time, I was wearing a very cute long, denim wrap around skirt, black tights and black loafers with heels. I swear, it was a cute outfit. She said "cute shoes, I would never wear those." What the heck! It wasn't a heel issue, she wore heels!

At an office party, the CEO's wife was pregnant. Very, very, visibly pregnant. And she kept rubbing her belly and sort of looking at me, as though she was expecting me to comment without her bringing it up. And I just kept thinking..."You have got to be KIDDING if you think I would actually assume and then comment on the pregnancy status of the CEO'S WIFE unless she was actually giving birth in front of me".

She actually was pregnant (again, very visibly/obviously) but you couldn't get me to mention it for $10,000.

Hahaha manda! I was about to say that an OB I used to work with used to say that you should never ask a woman if she is pregnant unless you can see a baby emerging from her body at that very moment in time...
