here are some Turkey day tips we got at meeting last night...

1. Mentally rehearse ahead of time
2. practice "Prepare yourself" habit
3. Have free veggies to snack on
4. Plan to see come of your plate between foods.
5. Use smaller serving spoon/plate
6. THINK mindful eating
7. Don't skip meals
8. Wear fitted cothing
9. Drink plenty of water
10. Focus more on people
11. Enjoy several vegetables to help control foods with higher POINTS value and higher energy density

I plan on trying all of them as I have two dinners to go to and will need to do lots of planning ahead of time. My mom will be cooking dinner #1 and luckily she is also on WW, so I will have a pretty good idea as to what we will be having. My BFs sister is cooking dinner #2 and I am in constant contact with her, so I should be able to get a good idea of what we're having for that dinner also.

Have a good night everyone!!!

My strategy for Thanksgiving - eat all I can fit in. Honestly, when you are pregnant you cannot fit in as much food as you used to. Not as much room in there for stomach expanding!

I made oatmeal raisin cookies and brought them into work today. I made them for a friend, who's birthday is next week but he is out of the office all week next week. I also brought him his own plate of them as a gift. My house smelled yummy last night.

Kim - I used to have a feeling that it was a girl, but I really don't know now. My OB's guess (twice) has been boy (by listening to the doppler and apparently from all the movement and kicking). We will find out in 2 weeks! BTW BBQ pork!

chiquita - on the loss! I agree with your leader. Try full fat yogurt instead of the light or fat free, etc. You can also try adding healthy high point snacks like nuts. This should help with your point value!

kestrel - Like I said to Kim, no real gut feeling anymore. I just want a healthy baby! I'm getting VERY anxious for that u/s!

modkitten- Oatmeal Cookies, Yummy!! I remember those days, this is so exciting, hope the next two weeks fly by for you both.

Kim- Looks good, your Plan of Action

*********
Well stayed the same again, for the last two weeks, hey, at least No Gain!!

Has anyone tried making those "mashed potatoes", by using cauliflower?

Well got to get ready for work-have a Great Day and stay warm!!

InStitches: Yes I have tried them! They were actually really yummy! The trick is to boil them a while so that they are really soft and completly mashable. Then you just make them like you would potatoes. I definitely recommend it.

Kim: Looks like you have a good plan! I am probably just going to not count points that day. But I am a vegetarian, so I would only be eating the veggies anyways! But definitely mashed potatoes as well! and pecan pie!

~~Not much has been going on with me. I am hoping for a loss tomorrow on the scale! I peeked today, and my weight was pretty high because I had sushi last night with soy sauce. When I was eating it, I told my boyfriend "Hey, you know soy sauce is basically liquid salt". And it really tasted like it too! Kinda gross...

Oh man, made it through my exam weeks. I did really well on all of them 85+ scores. Which makes me happy.

However, with the piles of stress and the people constantly having stuff delivered (the school provides us snacks and pizza and stuff during intense weeks) to the building I ate horribly and had no exercise except carrying heavy books up and down the hill from the parking lot to my building.

All that being said, I did some maintaining these two weeks and didn't lose or gain.

That being sad, we get the entire week off before coming back for 2 weeks of finals. So, destress and getting back on the plan time.

Maintaining is definitely better than a gain! Just look at it as a week of practice for when you get to your goal weight.

I've had the mashed cauliflower before when hubby & I were doing South Beach. I like it, had forgotten about it but I think I'll make it again.

Zen, congrats on the exams! I know that has to be a huge relief to have them done.

vdaybaby - I'm a sucker for sushi too, mmmmmm.

I got a very brief, unexpected visit with hubby this weekend due to some broken equipment (yep, burned off some calories ) so it's been a great weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving, girls!
Sorry I've been MIA lately, haven't been really counting or dieting in any way, which makes it hard to come post. But I've managed to keep losing, and I want to come celebrate the fact that I'm now 1 lb away from goal!!

I have to get to cooking, so no time for personals, I pretty much just came to brag. But I must mention that vday -- you look gorgeous in your new pic!!

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I did a pretty good job staying on plan here, I just had small servings (no seconds!) and enjoyed them. A small piece of pumpkin pie that was probably higher fat & calorie than normal (made with coconut milk since it needed to be dairy free, soy free & wheat/gluten free) but it was worth it to have a small piece.

I got my butt out of bed and actually did a workout this morning!!! If I could remember how good it makes me feel each morning when I struggle to get my butt out of bed then I wouldn't have as much of a problem every morning...
Anyone else do AM workouts? If so, how do you motivate yourself?

I don't currently, but would like to start doing morning workouts. I know I always feel so much better on days that I work out! I've been having so much trouble getting out of bed lately, I've really been dragging.

OK ladies, I saw it. The past 2 days, the scale was at 125 -- my goal!! woo hoo!! it's just funny -- i haven't been following a WL plan, but life has changed. I'm out of my relationship, dating new boys, living in a new place, and I just haven't been eating as much.
But anyway, I just wanted to share -- making goal is a pretty big deal!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Congrats to all who lost and to those who need it!
