I must be an idiot or something, the way some of the bras fit those lady's on the page Nessa sent seem to "bulge" at the top.. or just don't seem to fit...
Well I personally love underwire bras, I wear a 42 DDD. Lunaire bras are wonderful. You can search the internet for retailers. They offer exceptional support, look good & feel wonderful. I have always been very active and they are great "boulder holders" (Cause if you have ever seen a woman who with 42DDD size boobs run you know what I mean about "boulder")

Am I THAT clueless?
I think part of that is just advertising effect. I think we're supposed to be so wow'ed by how busty they look that we don't notice that the fit (or lack of it) would look terrible under a top. I think in the right size you'd be fine.
I think one thing that helps when it comes to support (besides a smaller band and bigger cup, I'll so agree with everyone else on that), is to realize the vertical stretch may seem nice and comfy, but it is death to support. Those bras with the fabric that doesn't stretch keep your chest up much higher. A bit of horizontal stretch gives comfort without making you sag.

Well, a full coverage bra should never have "the girls" popping out of the top. The cup is too small. The only time you should have cleavage like that, is in a bra styled like a Wonderbra, where there isn't hardly anything in the center. A full coverage cup should COVER. In an underwire bra, the center piece between the breasts should be up against your chest. If it is away from your chest, then the cups are too small.
OK, I've alway thought the band should be up under the breast , not down on the midwaist as some of the pics are showing... I really am confused! My breasts usually come down over the band (As I said, need better supporting bras, not the crappy 18hrs.)
First of all, it's really hard to measure yourself correctly. Secondly, they fail on the band size, IMO. If the number is even you add 4", if it's odd you add 5". You don't round up on an even number. Also, some companies want you to measure over the bust as well. It depends on the brand.
I would stress getting fitted by someone whose been fitting for awhile, not just some employee who watched the video. You'll have better luck with this if you go to a shop that specializes in bras.
I agree with Aphil, Bali makes great bras if you are a larger cup size. I was wearing Bali when I was a D and DD. They don't work for me now that I'm a C though. But that's another thread...
As far as fit, a full coverage bra will cover all of the breast tissue, but a demi, balconette, or push-up is meant to have the "girls" peeking up out at the top. Fit depends on style as well as size.
EDIT: Don't worry about how the models look in the pictures!!! Those pictures are to sell bras, not instruct on how they are supposed to fit. A good bra sales woman will help you in the dressing room too. She'll explain how the bras should fit as well as measuring you to find size.

WOW, at my age one would hope to know such things . sigh. LOL
I only know all this because I had to buy new bras every 6 weeks for awhile there. I know it's overwhelming, but you'll feel so good once you find a bra that makes the "girls" sit where they should be. The right bra is out there! You'll find it.

oh my wire lays flat finally now that I"m properly fitted. none of my bras that i'm "fluffy" in are full coverage.
