Snap out of the self-hatred! Easier said than done of course, but you've got to do it for yourself and your husband.
My husband was the insecure one when we met. At the time I made more money than he did and had a master's degree while he didn't finish college. He couldn't understand why I wanted him, and it took him a while to realize that I did.
It really hurt my feelings that he didn't think that I could love him. It was like he thought there was something wrong with me for loving him. It was as though he couldn't see that there were more important things than money and education or worse, didn't think that I wasn't good enough to look past unimportant things.
I doubt your husband looks upon himself as a saint for loving you. He's just seen something in you that you are not seeing. Trust him, it is there. Try to see yourself through his eyes. Look at the things that make you, you (what will be there whether and when the weight is lost or not) - and I bet you will find the things he loves about you. You are worthy of love, and don't ever feel you aren't.
You are not just lucky to have someone that loves you - Someone is lucky that you love them.
