Oh - you're very welcome! I love cooking (my biggest hobby) so most of the links in 'My Favourites' are to do with food.....

Oh, I can COMPLETELY understand that - I think I would be, too!

I'm lucky, my husband loves cooking as well. Our favourite way to spend a Sunday morning is by going to a good Farmers Market. The sad thing is that Sunday is one of his working days so I don't get to go very often. I love it that they give little tasters of the goodies - no other way would I have ever found out that I water buffalo, venison, ostrich and loads of other produce that I've not seen for sale anywhere else.

I have tried Ostrich and venison but not water buffalo - what is it like? and where do you find out about the farmers markets? and can anyone go to them? that is great that you get to taste stuff, have you ever been to the good food show? my friend and I went 8 years running but not been for a couple now - you get to taste lots of things there (especially wine!!)

Water Buffalo is lovely - very tender - very tasty. At the moment its my husband's favourite meat. Its very low fat and much tastier than ostrich and not gamey like venison. There's an organic Water Buffalo farm near Chesterfield and they go to quite a lot of the local Farmers Markets. I don't think they've got a website but here's a blog entry someone's written about buying water buffalo at the Leeds Farmers Market.

I found out about the Farmers Markets by searching on Google - I seem to get a different result each time. They tend to be on the same day each month - like the Wentworth Farmers Market (which is the best I've ever been to) is on the second Sunday of each month and the Sheffield one is on the fourth Sunday of each month. Some of them are fairly useless (the Doncaster one was a complete waste of time) but we never know until we get there. This website gives a list but there are some that are missing.

I haven't been to a Good Food Show - where are they held? I used to go to the Ideal Home Exhibition when I was a kid (I was brought up in London so it was fairly local) and I remember all the free tastings there.

The food shows are held at the NEC in Birmingham, but I did go to one at Earls Court years ago, they are a fab day out if you love your food! I am going to try a farmers market, sounds like fun and there are quite a few near me by the looks of it - thanks for that
