Water Buffalo is lovely - very tender - very tasty. At the moment its my husband's favourite meat. Its very low fat and much tastier than ostrich and not gamey like venison. There's an organic Water Buffalo farm near Chesterfield and they go to quite a lot of the local Farmers Markets. I don't think they've got a website but
here's a blog entry someone's written about buying water buffalo at the Leeds Farmers Market.
I found out about the Farmers Markets by searching on Google - I seem to get a different result each time. They tend to be on the same day each month - like the Wentworth Farmers Market (which is the best I've ever been to) is on the second Sunday of each month and the Sheffield one is on the fourth Sunday of each month. Some of them are fairly useless (the Doncaster one was a complete waste of time) but we never know until we get there.
This website gives a list but there are some that are missing.
I haven't been to a Good Food Show - where are they held? I used to go to the Ideal Home Exhibition when I was a kid (I was brought up in London so it was fairly local) and I remember all the free tastings there.
