So it has only taken my 10 days to drop .2 pounds!!!!!! My goal for the month should have been 1 pound, not 6.4 that I am still aiming for. Oh well, only the 31st will tell.

I guess slow and steady is good! Had a couple glasses of one last night, so I wasn't anticipating any drop.
  • Am slowly catching up on the thread. Sometimes I dread this time of year but hearing everyone's goals and focus is inspiring. Hope I still feel motivated this time next week, I may well be still lingering in the early one forties. These numbers love me!

    Start Weight - 141
    Goal Weight - 136

    Jan 7 - 142
    Jan 8 - 141
    Jan 9 - DNW
    Jan 10 - 141 (just)
  • Lots of salt last night and missed my workout to bring groceries to a friend with the flu but also still suspicious of the previous day's weigh in. All in all I won't complain!

Jacqui, I totally agree re: Biggest Loser - i think you hit the nail on the head, especially with the unhealthy ending...

183StGB You are doing so well and already close to your goal - that is awesome! I can relate to your running experience earlier this week where you just didn't feel like running any more. I have those days and sometimes the thought about wanting to stop creeps in to my head and soon it grows and grows and I just stop! Luckily it doesn't happen frequently, but certainly from time to time. I've done what I call "the walk home from my run" a few times

Boatingmommy, have fun at the RV/Camper show - sounds like a good place for warm thoughts indeed!!

NightAngel26, keep going, you are doing great this month! I actually love greek yogurt, i've found a brand that is similar in calories to what you mention and it is very high in protein!

Minneey, those 130's are calling you, i can hear it from here!!!

    good morning

I've been so tired the last couple of days - school being back is draining me. Although I like it I am heading to the library at 8AM.
I spontaneously went to Switzerland with a friend yesterday - to buy Swiss chocolate. So good! I got some for my family, but I boxed it up ready to send straight when I was home. I don't really trust myself I got myself a small bar though... and it was good portion control is not really my strength.

boatingmommy I'm totally into workout videos, too! Jillian with her 3-2-1 concept is my fave.

NightAngel26 sorry you left your water bottles outside :/ kind of funny, though hope the mystery gain leaves soon.

Woodstock I am glad I'm not the only one who gets tired of running while running I sure felt dumb but it happens at times. Trying again today

    Have a nice Saturday
  • boating, too funny about the growling tummy & great choice of snack.

jacqui, good job of not stuffing yourself on a cheat day.

joy, hope you can get outside soon, send moisure this way please.

sum, congrats on the monthly goal!

bfr, all this talk of chili has me drooling, may have to make a small batch.

jacqui, keliipa & 183 - thanks for the support on the no p.m. snacking. I'm sticking to the program but it's not routine(easy).

My Jan goal is to lose 4 & no p.m. snacking. Progress to date:
    1/1 - 158 & no p.m. snacking
    1/4 - 157 & continued success with no p.m. snacking.
    1/6 - 156 & continued success with no p.m. snacking.
    1/10 - 156 & continued success with no p.m. snacking.

It's encouraging to see the numbers coming down as I read though this thread. Great job everyone and have a great weekend.
  • I woke up really early this morning and decided to catch up since I missed yesterday. Once I get up enough energy to go weigh in, I'll post today's weight, lol! Edited to add: Hm, I'd rather not. I'm up a lb today, lol!

Sum, WOW! Congrats on making goal so quickly!!!

Pixikat, are you at a set point do you think? If so, you know how those go! You do just have to wait them out!

Boating, oh good! I'm glad you like the quotes. Have fun on your RV trip to St. Louis. I hope it's warm for you! No more of these frigid temps!

Vicki, yay! That's some jump down! Good for you!

Imabehot, glad to see the water weight fell back off!

shr1nk1ngme, congrats on the drop! Keep it going!

Darius, yay on another 1.5 lbs gone!

NightAngel, yes salt dehydrates the body, which will cause the body to hold onto water to compensate. And anytime you don't drink enough water, your body will hoard water to keep running smoothly. So in order to get your body to release the excess, you have to drink enough water each day, not overdrink, but drink the recommended 6-8 glasses.

Workinglikeadog, hang in there! I believe it takes 21 straight days to form a habit, so before you know it, not snacking in the evening will be easy-peasy. Okay well, easier anyway, lol!

193, lol, just had to have some chocolate so you went to Switzerland?! I usually just head to Walmart. I'm thinking Switzerland sounds better, lol!

Turtle, congrats on the drop! I'm glad you like the quotes!

Vix, woohoo on the pre-Christmas weight! Keep going!

Susan, yay on the new low! Great job!

TrayTeam, way to go on another drop! Slow and steady works!

Minneey, you've beaten these numbers before and you can do it again! Don't give in to temptation along the way! (Step away from the cheat weekend, lol!) You can do this!

Woodstock, you're looking good! Keep going! That water weight will fall away! Drink water!

Kelijpa, yay on losing that bump up!

Joy, yay on getting back down to your starting weight! Keep going!

Rsadler, it will get better! You're doing everything right! Once TOM leaves, you should have a nice whoosh and things will look so much brighter!

  • sum hooray! but you were overdue, i remember you had been struggling and not seeing progress for awhile. It just finally caught up all at once

jacqui thats what I am thinking, sue pointed out to me yesterday in the atkins thread that that might be it. I tend to hit them in 20lb intervals and I remember way back when at 264-65 i hit one, and I remember hitting one my first go through 224ish. So it would fit in the pattern even though I don't remember it from my first go round.

aj I feel ya! I am a student worker at my university and our office has been crazy with the first week the uni is open. classes start next week so it may be just as crazy.

I am off for some psycho-educational testing this morning so I can't write more right now. I should have some time tonight or tomorrow to pop in and write more personals. I hope everyone has a GREAT Sat!

Being on plan was a little tough at times this week (TOM) but I'd say it was worth it!
  • After some early success this month, I'm having a hard time putting together the kind of streak of really good days that lead to a loss. But yesterday was good (in spite of the jump). Today has a high-sodium dish but otherwise decent. And I can make tomorrow good, for sure. I'm less sure about Monday. That might be enough to get things moving in the right direction.
