Hello everyone! Hopefully everyone is having a great day
Carol-great article as always. I wrote about this same topic a while ago on my blog talking about how hunger is not a emergency. I worked out 5am this morning and did not eat until almost 9am. I was hungry but I had things I had to do so I put it off for a little, of course when I did eat I ate slowly and stopped when I was satisfied. I probably ate a cup of cereal and a half cup of milk, I didn't measure so I'm guesstimating but it wasn't like I pigged out like some would say if you put off eating for a while. My husband doesn't have a weight problem but sometimes he goes a long time without eating because he is so busy. Of course if he could sit down and eat he would but his hunger gets put on the back burner until he has time. He also eats whatever he wants and goes back for 2nds if he feels like it. This would definitely seem unnatural or unhealthy to some but he must be doing something right.
Also when he is on vacation and eats regularly his weight stays the same, he eats large meals and goes hours before he eats again. I have learned a lot from watching him eat. But that article is so true.

Usually if I eat spaghetti and a salad I'll eat them both together. I enjoy a salad with my meal as opposed to before it. Last night, tho, I was really craving veggies since I had been lacking in them lately so I ate my salad first - that was what was really appealing to me. Then I ate my spaghetti ... and here's a first ... I couldn't finish it all. So not only didn't I have seconds on my spaghetti, I couldn't even finish what I did have. AND I still enjoyed every bite of it until my tummy said "enough!" What a great experience! I think from now on I shall eat my salad before my meal instead of with it, at least when I eat spaghetti.
