Hal--good for you to keep hanging in there. We love you and send good thoughts your way.
Training is over Fri. I am not terribly looking forward to being back on the phones, but I am sure glad to be out of the class.
We go over and over and over the same things in the same way. Ugh!
Hey, I did find a respected local therapist who does hypnotherapy for weight loss. The only problem is that he doesn't have any openings until probably July, but I think it would be worth waiting. The people in the phone book listed as "hypnotherapists" also do past life regression!
Mooz--hope you and your mom are OK. I know it can be so tiring to be a caregiver. Prayers to both of you.
Hi chicks ...... just dropping in to let you know I am OK but seem to have very little time on the internet at the moment. Hope you are all having a good day.
Halgal -- I am happy to hear you are hanging in there. You are very special to us and you always post the neatest graphics. We are here for you--anytime you need someone to chat with!
Mooz -- It's good to hear from you also--I am beginning to know how it is to have someone becoming more disabled each day--that is the situation for me with my DH. Yesterday he could hardly get out of bed. We are waiting for the x-ray report so that he can begin his physical therapy. Hopefully this will be beneficial.
1-Day and Catlover -- I am hanging in there with you guys. I do believe, however, that I have hit a plateau and I knew this bound to happen--however, I must just stay positive and stay in control. Our Ulta Salon is having a special 50% off their salon services this week and I am going to give it a try and hopefully my hair will come out much better than when I go to Great Cuts. If it doesn't at least I will have tried. I also am trying the Apple-a-day 3 times diet to see if it works. The idea is to eat an apple before each meal and supposedly it will help you lose weight. I will let you know.
Hello Ladies,
Another busy day. My eating is not going very well, I have had lots of meeting going on at work and I"m stressed and it's week before TOM and I"m not prepared with any good snacks, so of course i eat the first thing I see. This weekend, taking time for me and going grocery shopping.
Sunday going out to eat with family.
Hope everyone is doing well, Hope to hear from you all soon!
What an absolutely beautiful Derby day this 1st Saturday in May! I find myself working madly on 2 projects due the 16th from a class I took an incomplete in last summer (when my Mother passed away).
It certainly has been a diffcult 9 months.
My health (no surprise here) is beginning to show evidence of this. I went in for a check up this week and found my blood pressure meds DOUBLED...! It is time for me to back off, and take better care of myself. I knew I was losing sleep, but had no idea it was affecting me this much.
A few of you ask earlier if you could write to someone. You can! All letters of support must be received by Monday, May 16th at the county prosecutors office. If you are interested shoot me an email (I believe each of you have it, and if you don't send me a PM and I'll send it to you.) I'll send along a FACT sheet I've prepared on the case. I believe as someone that did not know my niece, but has corresponded with me for a few years now you could speak about domestic violence and the lack of seriousness taken by the courts as they prepare to drop the charge of murder to voluntary manslaughter. What is the difference? A murder charge would keep this guy in prison for the full term which he will be sentenced. Voluntary manslaughter offers a 2 for 1 deal in Indiana. If he is sentenced 40 years, it automatically becomes 20 and he begins earning early release time from the second he is sentenced. Average term served for voluntary manslaughter in Indiana is 7 to 12 years.
Well it is a beautiful day in Phoenix. We have been very lucky because we haven't reached 100 yet, but I am sure it will be here before you know it. I have already cut our small piece of grass in the back yard with a weed whacker! And then I spray painted one of my chairs from the patio--I have two more to go.
I weighed in at WW yesterday, and again I maintained. I should be used to this by now but it is very frustrating so I devised a plan for this week. I received my 3-a-day diet Apple book yesterday and started this morning. I also took the bathroom scale out to the garage because the scale has become an obscession with me. The lady also gave me a plateau breaker to follow and I believe I will give the CORE program a try again because apples are one of the items on the list.
HalGal -- I have sent you a PM re writing a letter. I do agree the more letters they receive the better chance you have for someone to listen!
Patty -- I know how stress can affect our weight loss motives, however, by taking the time to shop and by keeping healthy snacks around--you will find it rewarding in the end. There were quite a few members at our meeting who received their 10 lb. ribbons and one of the things they stressed most was the "great" amount of energy they have gained by staying on program. Also, in my Consumer Magazine which arrived yesterday they rated the different diet programs and WW came in first place. All the others, after one year, the weight had been regained. I almost didn't want to go to the meeting yesterday because I knew I had not lossed but the lady I meet there convinced me that it was all the more reason to go. She was so right because today I have a much positive attitude.
Well I had better get moving--I need to go grocery shopping as well.
Take care and hopefully the rest of our ladies will be able to post when they get a chance, if not, hopefully you are all having a "super" weekend!
Happy Mother's Day to all that fall into that category...!!
Just a short note to say I sent everyone information via PM. Do not feel obligated in any way to respond. I just thought I would take care of doing this as I work my way through my 'Things To Do' list.
Hey, I sent a bet to the Kentucky Derby with a friend. I liked the name of the horse "Closing Argument" and won - $189.60 on a $4.00 bet!
Quick note--walking the dog yesterday, our neighbor let her pit bull run loose.
She bit Cunka on the nose, and we think our dog has a strained hind leg because she won't let us near it and she hates to walk.
I fell running away from the pit bull and got a nasty bruise. It wasn't too bad the rest of the afternoon and evening, with ice etc., but last night it got terribly painful, and the dr said I'd better go to the ER and get it looked at.
Waited around the ER (Of course there were many patients with far more acute conditions than mine--I'm not complaining, just that I didn't get home until 1). So I am supposed to keep it up and put ice on it.
This isn't the first time that damn dog has attacked ours. I haven't called the PD because they don't seem to have much interest in dog attacks.
Catlover -- Don't you have a Dog Warden in your City. That's the office you should call. We have had similar attacks in Phoenix and they definitely are taken very seriously. In fact we have these dog parks which are fenced in and a smaller dog was just killed by two aggressive dogs. Now they are thinking of closing down the parks. I hope your legs gets to feeling better. There's nothing more frustrating than having pain somewhere in our bodies.
Well I have had 5 apples as of this afternoon and one thing I can say is that you feel awfully full and I haven't been hungry in between meals. My younger sister was admitted to the hospital Thursday evening and she is still there. The doctor believes she may have had a stroke and they have to do an MRI tomorrow. This is the same sister who has gangrene in her foot and my daughter says it looks real bad. So ladies please do remember my sister in your prayers these next few days! Thank you.
Hal - Got your note and yes I will send a letter. You are right though, you need to stop and take care of your self. Your blood pressure is telling the story. You need to take care of you. WTG on your bet. I heard the winning horse was a 50 to 1.
Cat - I'm surprised they are not taking any action with the dogs being pit bulls. There have been many stories in the news with them attacking. My suggestion is to carry some mace. I know it's not fair to the dog, to spray them, but I know I don't want to be bitten by any dog. I went to our local supply stores that sell to police and fireman and got one there. As far as Cunka, take her to the vet and give your neighbor the bill, she probably won't pay it, but maybe she'll think twice before letting the dog out. OH, and I would call the PD, get this on file, & maybe you'll get a officer who does care about dog complaints.
Nita - 5 apple's a day, Wow, that is great. I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I will definitely keep her in my prayers.
As for me, overate today, knowing I was going to start back on SBD tomorrow. Went shopping looking for some cheap patio furniture. Didn't find any, but will keep looking.
Had a great day today! I took my DH and myself to the Dentist for our 6-month cleaning. I then took him over to the Nail Shoppe and he had a pedicure. Because he is a diabetic and can't cut his toenails I thought it would be worth $15 to have it done correct. I have never had one but I was thoroughly impressed. They have these high-back massage chairs and then they have a wash basin where they wash the feet and then this Chinese woman massaged his feet and even his legs with some kind of lotion. It took about 25 minutes and my DH really enjoyed the whole process. I just might have to give this a try as well.
Patty -- I did not eat 5 apples in one day. You only have to eat one apple at each meal and today is my 3rd day doing this. One thing for sure you really can't eat a whole lot of food after you eat an apple. I also find that I am not having any more indigestion and I believe my energy is back on "high." This morning I had my own Apple Fritter. I made it with one apple in my food processor, one piece of diet whole wheat bread--also put through the food processor, one egg, cinnamon, and a little egg beaters. I then fried this in my frying pan after I had sprayed it with PAM. This filled an entire dinner plate and I added a small amount of lite syrup. I am eating very well but since I have put the scale in the garage, I'm not sure if I am losing or gaining. However, I do not feel bloated or hungry. For lunch I had a whole apple and a hamburger which I had prepared on the grill by adding onion, oatmeal, egg, a little milk and salt and pepper. I put the hamburger in a whole wheat tortilla which is fat free. I also had a small amount of my sugar free diet pudding. For dinner it is going to be an apple in a salad, grilled pork loin and a small baked potato. It really is hard to believe you can lose weight eating like this but I will let you know the outcome.
My sister is still in the hospital and I am waiting to hear what the prognosis is. They did the MRI today.
Hopefully the rest of you ladies are doing your best and I hope to hear from you soon!
Hello ladies,
We'll starting SBD did not go as plan. Today was another busy day and next thing I know I missed lunch, then I'm starving, and then I overate.
But tomorrow is a new day and i'm going to start again.
Nita - OH, I love getting a pedicure. I don't get them very often, but I really enjoy getting one. Your apple fritter should sounded good. Keeping your sister in my prayers.
