  • Kari – Hope your little guy is feeling better soon – hate pink eye most of all, because trying to get eye drops in a kid is torture!!

Diva – I couldn’t read on the treadmill – I can’t read with the book (or myself) bouncing around!! However, I did bribe my husband to run cable to the dining room so I could at least watch TV – he doesn’t get how boring it is to stare at the wall for 30 minutes!!!

Danielle – My sensitive kid is my first born – my strong-willed little devil is the second (and consequently, last!!)

Mothermavis – And I thought we were rednecks!! Love your exercise room - -can’t you pretend the critters are chasing you? I told my husband the other day we must be true rednecks – we bought the kids a go cart but Nicholas needs to be buckled into his booster seat to be able to reach the pedals!! Hope your back feels better.

For grocery shopping I have a list in Excel – a ‘base” list of the items we need each week and then plot out the weather (to consider BBQ or not), what nights my husband will be working and which kid has to be where/what time to decide on a menu for the week. I can’t possibly enter a store empty handed – I go crazy!!!
  • So, I bought these brownie bites for my son's baseball team for a snack tonight -- after they were done there were quite a few left, so I put them in my truck to bring home "for my kids". I really wanted some but saw the calories and didn't.

I just had a stupid moment -- I took two (a serving) and ate them. Then I went back and ate about 10 of them . The good part is they are all gone -- I feel yucky (as a reminder why I quit eating like this) and I'm depressed that I goofed up so bad.

But, I have to get back on track -- back to work and I am not allowed to cross the "kitchen line" the rest of the night. I know know I would have enjoyed my usual popcorn much better, would not have felt sick to my stomach and you know the worst - they weren't even very good.
  • shymoment: the recipe for the asian salmon is as follows:
2 lbs salmon filets, skin on
    2 tblsp. olive oil
    2 tblsp. rice vinegar
2 tblsp. soy sauce (i used low sodium)
    1 tblsp. packed brown sugar
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    2 tblsp. minced onion
    1 tblsp. sesame oil
    2 cups long grain rice
    1 tsp. dried dill weed
    4 cups water
make several shallow slashes in the skinless side of the salmon filets. Place filets skin side down in a glass baking dish. In a med. bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, pepper, onion and sesame oil. Pour over the filets, cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350. bake uncovered in the oven for about 30 mins or until fish flakes with a fork. In sauce pan, combine the water, rice and dill weed. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat until the water has been absorbed and rice is tender, about 20 min.

I served the salmon over long grain and wild rice and poured some of the sauce on top.
My dh said "this is the best salmon ever!" lol, it was pretty tasty!
    ENJOY!!

  • shelby, everybody has a weak moment now and then. Don't beat yourself up over it. I know you'll be right back on track!
  • shey
Thanks, sounds great. Will make it for the family.
  • Hey girls, just doing a quick fly by tonight. I've been keeping up but am not able to do personals, I'm sorry.

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi! and to see how everyone is doing! I see we are still quite the active group! Love it!! I just wish I had more time at work to keep up and reply!

My workouts this week have been ho-hum, well okay, yesterday I crashed at 7:30...how I have no idea...maybe had something to do with taking 5 hour energy shots the previous 2 days in a row... I have come to realize that on the 3rd day I crash BIG time! So needless to say I did not make it to boot camp last night I didn't get to see my eye candy Boot camp is canceled tomorrow so no eye candy tomorrow either. Was thinking of going to watch eye candy play arena football this weekend with a friend but the game day got pushed back to Mother's Day so not sure if I'm going to be able to go. The eye candy at the gym is not very impressive either...old guys that wear stuff they shouldn't or it's women that go on the stairclimbers in front of me I never luck out in the eye candy department there

I did weight myself today and was down another pound! I think it is now safe to say that I have broken through my latest bumper number. I have now lost 33 pounds! I'm hoping to lose another 2 before I run my 1st official 5k in 10 days. It would make me really happy to be down 7 by then but don't think that is going to happen. Positive thoughts right?!

Alright, it's ni-night time...if the 5 hour energy shot will let me go ni-night. Took it 6 hours ago but still pretty awake. I want to join in waking up early to work out so I can get 2 workouts in a day. Wish my luck in waking up early tomorrow and working out!
  • Quote: The 92 year old relative is still kickin' it...she was moved to hospice, but they are telling us she can't stay because her condition isn't "emanate". She's 92 and has advanced lung cancer....what qualifies as "emanate" in Florida?
Unfortunately, "imminent death" is a rather grey area. But I can't believe that they are saying they won't keep her in hospice because of this??? I've sent many people to hospice, in different stages of terminal disease. No one other than a higher power (whomever you all believe in), knows when this is all going to happen. Has the family considered using a different hospice company?

I had an ok day, stayed OP and worked my "slowly shrinking" tail off at the gym. But I woke up this morning with a sore throat and it's made it's way to my nose, ears and head through the day. Ugh.......I hate to be sick, and I rarely am. Have to love the little people in my life with runny noses for passing the germs on to mommy. They love to share germs, hate to share toys. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day

I'm having a hard time making my way through all the posts, but I have to say, everyone seems to be doing a great job. Keep up the great work Red Team!!!!!
  • Sweet Dreams Red Team!
  • Just stopped in to say Hi!

I had a good on plan day with a short walk for my dog.

MELISSA - Thought of you today. I was at the nail salon with a friend and they had the TV on. They had a woman on one of the local morning shows that teaches people how to hula hoop!! She did all kinds twirling and dancing with her hula hoop. It made me think of your smiley in your signature!

Awwww, sorry you're not feeling well. I hope ya get better soon. I feel a little ill this morning, I am hoping it passes. My sugar is a bit high. I guess it was the baked potato I had for dinner last night? I was taken off the actos a couple of months ago, and now I have noticed my sugar is higher than it should be when I wake up...sigh... I don't want to be back on that stuff. it makes me retain water and makes it hard to lose weight.

Today I will attempt to do the Winsor Pilates. I've had these for a while and hated them at first, so I gave away the arms one. But I still have the Legs & Abs ones so I will do them today along with one of my WATP's. Wish me luck.

Armywife, you are rocking the exercise front! WTG! And nice job on the quitting the cancer sticks.
  • Hey girls, not much time this morning just wanted to say Hi! I hope everyone has a great OP day and kicks some booty working out.
I have to go to Morton's Steakhouse tonight for dinner with clients. Let me tell you, not a vegetarians first choice! I have a healthy salad picked out and only having one mixed drink so as long as I stay away form the bread I should be okay. No time for exercise but I haven't had a rest day in a while so I'm not too worried about it.
    Talk to you gals later!
  • Just stopping in quickly before I go take my final to wish you all a fantastic OP Thursday!!! Make it a great one!!
  • Good morning ladies~ I'm going to have to figure out some way to keep up with you all. I was so good last time around about keeping up and doing personals, but for some reason it just seems so overwhelming this time around. I think in part it's a lot of new people, and it's just going to take me time to get used to the names. I do try to read everyones posts though, but by the time I'm done I can't remember who wrote what!LOL! As school is coming to an end my mind is going to mush. I think I'm just excited for summer vacation. I'm really excited because Kev and I are going out for the day Saturday. My sister is going to watch our kids. If the weather is nice we're going to go to Starved Rock and hike. That will be some major time for my exercise challenge We went last year, and it was the best time ever. Just so nice to be with him and have no kids wanting this or that. This time though I'll be smart and pack some water bottles. I didn't realize how much we hiked last time until we got back and I was ready to die from thrist. There are no washrooms though, so I don't want to drink to much because this girl doesn't go in the woods!LOL! Well I better get the kids going. Have a great day ladies~
  • Good luck Melissa
  • Melissa -- I'm sure you aced your final -- because we all know you are SO smart!! Hope it went well.

I woke up this morning and am determined to recover from my "brownie blackout" last night. After I ate them, I continued on to a bagel and some rice cakes but then made myself go to bed before I could do more damage.

In the past that would have been the end of me for at least a week but I'm not giving up!!! I weigh in on Monday so I don't think one day this early on in the week will really affect me too much (I hope!).

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and meets all their goals!!!
