  • WOOHOO I finally surpassed the 10 pound mark! I am so tickled!
  • Quote: In the past month, I have been having some leg/feet cramps at night. Anyone else experiencing this while on MRC? I have been on MRC for over five months. I am wondering if I need more potasium. My multi-vitamin has 80 mg of potasium. Those of you on the MRC mult-vitamin, can you tell me how much potasium is in it?
Prior to MRC I had similar cramps. . . doctor recommended more calcium and magnesium. I have not had a cramp since adding these. Mine are from Walmart, but the center does sell calcium/magnesium supplements as well.

  • Just got back from the gym - 1 hour on the treadmill (2.4 miles). Feels great!

Do other centers offer the PiYo class? I was planning on attending that tomorrow night at my center but didn't know what it was like. I'm afraid if I get down on the floor, I won't be able to get back up

    Congrats... keep going
  • Quote: Yes, eating more/less veggies does make a difference. I ate a lot of cooked veggies, and when I plateaued/stalled a month or so ago, my center recommended eating fresh veggies at least one meal a day--and it did the trick. More veggies= more natural fiber = cleaning lots of old stuff out of our tract = more weightloss. Also, the fresher veggies require your body to work harder to process them, which = more calories burned even in "resting" state.
When you say "fresh veggies" do you mean raw vs. cooked? I eat "fresh" as a opposed to "frozen" but I just wanted the additional clarity.

    Thanks,
    Carmen

My center doesn't have it...but I've taken it at the University Gym. It is a mix of yoga and pilates..and at the gym was quite intense and a tough workout. But I'm sure at the center they have it modified because everyone there is working on gettting in great shape. Try it. If you struggle, you can keep going back and use it as a gauge of your progress. Won't it be great to fail at it now and be awesome at it later?

Thanks Britt! The description says it's for "everyone". I've never really fit into the "everyone" category.. kinda like one size fits all. I will give it a try and let you know. If you hear on the news that some chick turned into a human pretzel and the paramedics had to untwist her.. that would be me :-)

You are funny!!! That would have totally been me 125 pounds ago too, but when it comes to MRC when they say it is for everyone they really mean it. They will modify for anyone that needs it. I have never had this class, but it sounds like fun!! Keep up the great work!!

Oops! Yes, I meant raw veggies.
  • I weighed in yesterday and was down 2 lbs. Woo! 6 more pounds until I can play with my new Kindle, and 11 lbs until I go to stabilization (I've decided to stabilize at 195 instead of 200 to give myself some wiggle room).

I mentioned that I've had issues with bouts of dizziness, nausea, and overall yuckiness, and they told me to record when I feel this way. The consultant said it sounds like a blood sugar issue. She didn't seem to like my suggestion of switching to metabalance, though. She was thinking that we might modify the fruit I eat at lunch, then add the glucose supplement in (supposed to regulate sugars). Then she said she didn't think it was because of my blood pressure being low, because she said it was still in the normal range. Then she took my BP and it was 94/52. Um, I know it's still in "normal," but it's on the really low end of normal, so yeah, I'm pretty sure that's part of it.

I've been really tired all weekend, and had to drag myself to the gym today, and drag myself through my cardio. I just wasn't feeling it, and it was a real struggle to work out at the same level I've been able to do a couple weeks ago. If I don't feel better by the end of next week, I think I might just insist on metabalance.

Anyway, I'm off to do some light cleaning, take a shower, and start dinner! We're trying "broccolette" tonight. I've had it at a restaurant in TX before, but they called it "broccolini." Either way, it was really good. It was described to me as being like a cross between asparagus and broccoli, so we'll see.

Congrats on the loss, I know you've really been struggling recently and am glad to see your hard work paying off.

  • So I just got done practicing Zumba. I'll say, its nice to be able to lead myself in a great home workout...no video required! :-)

I am practicing because I am teaching my first class Tuesday! To the ladies at my MRC center! haha!

When I got certified, the manager talked to me about doing a miniclass for the counselors. She said they always have people ask about different workout types and they would love to do a Zumba demo so they could describe it to clients. I am excited to pay them back! haha!

I just hope I can deal with this meta-protein fatigue. I'm feeling it today. My body misses its carb energy for sure. But its only for a few more days to a week. I am heading out Thursday afternoon for that wedding and they said Thursday morning we would decide if I can go back to my regular menu (or maybe even meta-quick since I'll be out of town) or if I should stay on meta-protein all weekend for the full 2 weeks. Guess we'll see.

Have a blast on Tuedsay, it sounds like it should be a lot of fun. I think it is cool that we are really learning about how to fuel our bodies correctly and how it responds to different foods. I hope the fatigue is better and that you can return to your regular menu soon.
