I tried the first night, after a LONG day of travel and swimming and heat, and simply couldn't function in the workout room, even though it was air conditioned. The next few days I just tried to stay hydrated and make good food choices, and stay active in the pool.Tonight meeting with a personal trainer with my husband to get a new strength training routine. I will probably be glad I enjoyed a few days' rest!
Later this week I guess I will start over with Week 5 Day 1. I'm not sure how well it will work. With the strength training, my legs may be too worn out to pick right back up.
Momof5k, I'm super slow, too! When I calculate my average speed and figure out it would take like an hour and a half to finish a 5k..... lol, well, I just don't think about it! Once I get up to half an hour of running, I figure I'll try to pick up the speed a little at a time.

it wasn't really my intention but week 8 is only 3 minutes longer than week 7 and I thought to myself, "if I can do 28 I can do 30!" so that's what I did. I am basically now just going every other day with a goal of 30 min (5 min warmup and 5 min cooldown) and some days I don't manage it and some days I do... The point is to get out there and give it my all and I'm generally pleased with the outcome.
