  • Nicki Roseee, that really is super , wtg girl! Thanks for sharing with us, have a super day and keep up the good work.
  • Hello everyone, I decided to take a little break from studying (I have an online test tonight that I COMPLETELY forgot about and haven't studied at all for it ). Today definitely started out great, I lost 1 pound in 1 day!! This is awesome for me right now since it took me almost 2 weeks to lost my last pound. I changed my exercise routine yesterday and did an hour of Cardioke after my 3 mile walk instead of 30DS..so I decided that this will be my new daily routine. Now I just need this test to go well tonight, and for work to not be too crazy this weekend

Scarlet Way to go on the 2 pounds, that is sooo awesome!! Good luck resisting the tempations at work. I'm the opposite, I have wayyy more temptations at home, and usually eat a lot less at work.

Lewisempire I agree that the weather is helping me out a little bit. Even though it doesn't get extremely cold down here, to me the 50's is freezing lol. The weather has been perfect the past few days, the temp. is in the 70's with some nice cool wind and cloudless skies! I find that when I'm walking in weather like this not only does the time fly by, but I also walk faster. I wish it would stay like this, but soon our temps will be in the 80s with horrible humidity, so I'm gonna soak it up while it lasts

niki rose Congrats on reaching another goal!! I'm doing great with my exercise goal, but I'm still pushing to try to reach my weight goal. But I'll have to lose another 7 pounds in just a few weeks in order to reach. Not impossible, but not likely either lol.

fullsteam Great job on not eating any cake! I'm still working on my will power to resist the tasty stuff that gets put in front of me, but I'm slowly improving.

    Well back to
I can't wait till I finish college, looks like it'll be Spring '10 for me now so only 1 more year!
  • Hi all

Not losing much right now but still going at it. This is hard work but very rewarding.

It is Spring!!! And yet...it was snowing here this morning!

    Have a great weekend everyone!
  • Holy Cow, nicki rose! Being OVERWEIGHT is a dream of mine! So, SUPER CONGRATS on that major accomplishment!
I am just quickly checking messages at my parent's. Have a good weekend and I'll catch up with everyone Monday!
  • Hi girls,

Checking in before I call it a night, hope everyone had a great day.

Zoochick, congrats on the lb. lost I hear you on the scale bit. When the scale doesn't move for me and then it moves downard, I am so appreciative for any loss. I have a newfound appreciation for it and realize it's importance more than ever! congrats again and keep up the good work.
I hope that you got in plenty of time to and did well on your online exam tonight.

Hi Hattie, wtg at keeping at it, same here...and I know that carrying onward can only mean downward eventually. It is Brrrrrrrrrrr here tonight too but supposed to be back to normal temps in a few days. Thanks, have a great weekend too!

MsPerceptionnn, hope your having a terrific weekend and looking forward to hearing the scoop upon your return

Happy spring for those of us celebrating! I am not making the same mistake twice tonight! Earlier, i wished a freind from Australia Happy Spring how embarrasing is that, lol I know they are the opposite of us and it's their fall, I just wasn't thinking.

I had a really good OP day here girls so I am happy about that. Keeping b usy and getting my exercise helps me a lot. I had my plan for the day too (trying soups today) and really stuck to my guns. All went well and goal accomplished for the day! I just put all of my energy into today and when I wake up tomorrow...well new day.

I did get a little pouty at one point tonight though, nothing on t.v and dh went to take a bath (guy was sore, he cut down a tree today and was hauling wood again) so I went on the wii fit, I hadn't planned on doing exercise yet again but that wii came in handy!

Water intake went well, I bring a gallon up here with me and just keep refilling my cup when it gets low. Ohhhhh, dh came home early from work and he finished off the cake! lol No more temptations in that sense....It is so much easier not having things in the house that are not on plan! It is so true , to a large extent, "out of sight, out of mind". If I have something in the house , I know all to well it's there and I will think about it....that is not good! If it's not there, I don't think about it (aside from cravings). DH amazes me, he will forget what's there (except the cake of course!), I could remember something like a peanut that was in a cuboard...figures!

I prob like to get out a bit tomorrow night as Sat. night is our usual weekend night out....tired now though so we will see tomorrow. I hope your all having a terrific weekend, chat soon
  • Good morning everyone--I have terrific news, I got to change both my ticker and my signature weight and I am now in the 70's---Hooray and Hooray!!

I think you all helped me last night, I stayed away from the pizza and about 11pm when my boss ordered another fresh one I said no...actually my stomach was a little upset earlier in the day so I just said it still was a bit off (not really true, but something she would accept), so I watched her eat the entire pizza except for two small slices!! That was me before, and I really was getting that as I watched her eat, that of course I have a weight problem when I ate like that!!

But no more if I can do anything about it, and I so am trying to do something about it...but it was good to have that lesson (although it makes me sad for her because she has gained so much and she's a beautiful stylish woman)...

I guess the moral of this is look for lessons wherever you are, look for inspiration and help, you never know where it may come from.

Okay, I now have 9 lbs to go to reach my March goal---onward and downward..

Have a great Saturday everyone--I'm off to work (!??!)
  • Scarlettttttttttt, I am so happy for you! That sure is terrific news! That was so smart what you said to your boss and what strength it takes to do what you did and avoid that temptation, I would be so proud of myself! wtg scarlet! I bet you feel terrific and now have all the more strength, I hope you have a terrific evening....thanks for sharing the great news with us and congrats on the ticker, going down a digit, and just the whole shebang! keep up the awesome work .

Hi to all, I am taking a quick break. I finally planted my seeds (morning glory's, moon flowers, and cypruss vines), I do it every year. I start them indoors and then put them on the deck. THe hummingbirds love the little red trumpet shaped flowers on the cypress vines.
I need to go get ready now and maybe head out for a walk. It's about 40 or so but a nice sunny day with light winds. DH is burning brush today and we may do something later on depending on how we both feel.

Scarlet? You know something? You made my day! I better be good tonight ha? lol ok ladies, chat soon....I better move this tail of mine. Have a lovely day everyone.
  • Good evening Ladies! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I am wishing it was a bit longer! (only because it is my weekend off!)
Fullsteamahead- Hey there-gardening, gem hunting? We have a lot in common! I started my seeds inside too! (tomatos, watermelon, canteloup) All for me....I guess I should think of the hummingbirds too, they are so cool! It is amazing to watch those little guys! Great job sticking to your guns- You are right, it does help to see the sucess of our group here. I thought about you all today when I had the chance to go crazy. You gals have really been great, and making this whole experience FUN! Yes, I am still rockin out in the morning, and for chores. It is really a lot of fun! (Just like it used to be)

Scarlet- girl, all I can say is YAHOO for you. I don't think I could have done what you did. I think I would have caved for pizza. You made yourself, and your goals a priority! That is really, really GREAT! We knew you could do it, and you did! Just inspirational!

Msperception-Hope you are having fun at your parents. Give us an update when you can. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you find some support to stay on plan (or close) while you are there. Traveling, and being away from home seems harder for me to stay at it. Good luck, have a great weekend!

Hattie22- Hi there! Snow? yikes, I hope it doesn't spread! I am sending you some of our Sunshine! To help warm ya up! Keep going girl, Slow changes are good changes! (That is what I keep telling myself, too)

Nikkirose-WTG!!! As crazy as it sounds, I am with Msperception! I want to be overweight too! HAHA! You are really doing great! Kicking some serious butt! Keep up the good work! You help keep us going!

Zoochick- Yay on 2010! School is so important! How did your test go?
Also, Yay on finding something new and fun for your workouts! I think that is a big chunk of the battle. I have to have some variety--

Well girls, I am off to bed. If the weather holds, it is geocaching again tomorrow!!!! Yipppeee! I love it!
    Good night All!
  • Good Morning Ladies! I am up and at it earlier than usual, esp. on a weekend off! The weather is looking near perfect, so i thought I would check in quick. (I am waiting for my jeans to dry, I forgot to put them in the dryer before bed lastnight! Oh well....) We are going hiking again today! The dog is soooo excited. Everytime I get up to do something, she leaps up, and gets all bent out of shape. She thinks it is time to go!
On a really happy note, I am down another .5 pounds this morning, So the water/tea is working! I am soo excited! AND, I am within 3 miles of my 50 mile goal for the month! YaY!
I hope everyone is making progress this weekend too! You girls keep up the good fight, and do what you know to do.... And have some fun......
    See ya later!
  • Lewisempire, I am so impressed with your miles, that is a major accomplishment!!

I so want to be able to walk distances, right now I go to the grocery store and walk up and down the aisles with the cart for exercise, but by the time I'm done I'm hobbling back to my car because my knees hurt so...when I was young I walked everywhere and I have always loved to walk, and my family are big outdoor hikers..

I somehow lost another lb, I wasn't expecting it as I figure my body has to stabilize out here soon, but I'm very happy to have it since now it is counting on my March challenge, so 2 down and 8 to go!

FullSteam, we had a beautiful day here yesterday, I wish I could have been outdoors (the room I work in doesn't have outside windows). When I drive from where I live in Redmond to Seattle where I work, I cross a bridge across Lake Washington here, and as I start the approach to the bridge there is a gorgeous view of the water, Seattle from the backside, and the Olympic mountains beyond, still full of snow and looking so close--it just makes me smile every time the sun is out..

Have a great Sunday everyone....I work late tonight so am enjoying a bit of time with the family...
  • Hi everyone, Happy Sunday! : )

Lewisempire, on the scale moving for you again and on your mileage! Your already within 3 miles of your 50 mile goal, that is awesome! I hope you had a great time geocatching today .

You plant tomato's, watermelon, and cucumber? How nice. I used to plant a big tomato garden every single year until we moved here (about 9 years ago), I really miss it and DH is trying to talk me into it this year. We are s urrounded by woods and let me just say that there are many many animals here, which is nice but a garden would need to be totally protected if it were to stay intact! lol. Anyhow, I always wanted to plant watermelon.......neat! How do they come out? Do you need to spray them a lot, do you get the little ones? Oh that must be fun! .

Just got back from downstairs, heard DH talking. The kids from across the street sold him a dozen eggs! lol. I was like, what? Are they selling them for school? " No, it's from their chickens and roosters" he says! lol. So he opens up the carton and most of the eggs look " normal" and then there are 2 big ones and one odd ball shaped thing! "I'm not eating those", I exclaimed! "Honey, they are fresh eggs", he says! lol. "You know that rooster we hear, it's from them!" Okay, sorry for the sidetrack, I am a real yapper today

I have to get going, DH is waiting for me and the sun is out....I will be back later.

Scarletttt, wtg on losing another lb.! That is super! That drive that you take sounds so pretty! Regarding your walking and all, I taketh after the surgery and some recouping you will be able to do more? You are doing so well, keep u p the great work . Hope you had a nice time with your family today.

I have to run, more on me later but in the interim I hope you are all having a great weekend
  • Hi ladies, back again.

I wanted to tell you about the hummingbirds! They definitely are cool and so much fun to watch! We put the little feeders out on the deck every year so that we can enjoy them. We only have one species here on the east coast, the ruby throated....they are beautiful. I think on the west coast they have as many as 15 species!

You can buy the food or just make your own. I make it. It is one part sugar to 4 parts water. Just put the sugar and water in a little pan and when the water begins to boil a bit, stir constantly until the sugar is dissolved and as soon as the sugar is dissolved ,take it off the burner and let it cool to room temp. before filling the feeder. I don't put too much in as the liquid needs to be changed every few days (particularly in very hot weather...bacteria builds and can make the birds sick) and no need to add red food coloring. The majority of feeders have a bit of red in them and that is sufficient to attract them.

If you put the feeders out in spring when they are passing through, it's a good time to catch them because they will stay awhile and if your lucky, they may choose to nest there as well. They feed often but I notice they feed most at dusk and that is a great time to sit out by the feeder and watch them.

As for the weekend here, it went well. We ended up staying in last night and I had a good day. Today , we went for a big brunch (my idea) and then to a store after to move around a bit and burn it off. Still not hungry and the plan is to have a light healthy dinner (reversing lunch and dinner tonight) and plenty of water. We shall see what Tuesday brings! Took the day off from exercise and just going to relax tonight and read my new books.....I will let you know if I see any good healthy recipe's in there.

Talk soon ladies, have a wonderful night
  • everyone!

I hope you all had a good weekend. It's SO hot, I just wanna pass out in a freezer!
  • Good morning everyone!

No loss today, which I've been expecting as I had such a great week....but I'm focused on the eating (or shall I say not eating) for the next 3 days especially as Thursday I'm taking my daughter out for birthday dinner (her birthday is Saturday but I'm working and her fiance is taking her to a play). I should be able to stay on plan for the meal no problem, but if I've had a successful Mon-Wed it would be nice to be able to choose a light dessert at the restaurant if they have one.

So that's my plan for this week anyway, it's getting easier to stay away from food as I keep my goals really solid and really in the front of my mind....I just really want to get through the 270's as this will be a real accomplishment for me, and the more I lose in the short time I have left before surgery the better.

We have, counting today, just 9 days left in our March challenge. This has just been a terrific month for me being here in the trenches with all of you!!
  • Well, ladies I'm home. Nothing big to report. I was decent, but not spectacular with the various challenges I faced. The cake was very good and helped me stay on track. I was on and off about watching portions. One meal I'd be great and the next I wouldn't be quite so careful, so we'll see how it all came out when I weigh-in tomorrow.
I did get my exercise though, which is an improvement. I went on 1 hour walks 2 of the days and yesterday I cleared brush in our woods for over an hour (that's a good upper body workout!). My new exercise dvd's came today, so I'm gonna try one out tonight and then do a little Wii Fit which should keep me on track for today as well.

Congrats Scarlet on your good week and seeing your way through a tough situation with eating with the boss!
FSA and LewisEmpire I am also a gardener, but this year I am sowing seeds straight into the soil later in the year since we're in a weird moving situation at the moment.

I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things today and tomorrow and making this last week of the month really count!
