It is a lazy Sunday afternoon here. My engaged daughter is at work, my 15 year old daughter is spending the afternoon with her non boyfriend's family, (she is adamant that they are NOT dating..yet they sure act like it! Kids!) and my hubby is off at TreeClimbers Intl. climbing trees. I have been trying to catch up with emails, and freelance writing, and posts. I am two hours overdue on my second thyroid pill, and sinking fast. I am going to have to take a nap!
I wanted to write to everyone, but I will have to come back and do that after the nap!
Just a couple I can remember:
DEB: If you want to add to your exercise routine, may I suggest Joyce Vedral's books on weight training for women? I have her Fat Burning Workout book, and it is all written so you can do it at home, or even when you travel. It requires very little basic equipment, and you can get wonderful results with it. I also have her Bottoms Up! book, but much prefer her Fat Burning Workout. It is simple, and to the point. Give it a look over and see what you think.
NANCE: I had to giggle about you escaping the kids. How true! If I am home, my daughter might not even come up to say hello when she gets home, but if I am not here, she calls me on my cell phone and acts insulted that I went someplace! I have to repeatedly explain to her my job as mother is not to chauffer her around!
JRED: I try not to get on the weather channel! I like surprises. My hubby thinks I am nuts! I think he may be right!
TRANQUIL: Way to go on the #s! You are doing so great! Your success is inspiring!
TONI: I know what you mean about changing favorites! I used to eat eggs every morning. I did that for three or more years. Then one day, I looked at the eggs, and thought, I can't do it! Now I have a protein smoothie for breakfast most mornings! It took about two months for me to like eggs again, but I can take them or leave them. Do you suppose it was the sausage, and the fat that made you ill? What will you replace them with?
YELLOW: Living on the edge can be exciting now and then...don't you think? Did you move from Texas? I must have missed something...
POOCH: Glad you had a good time riding horses. Hope the bruised posterior mends soon! It sure is hard when you can't sit easily! Remember tho, you can probably lay down just fine!
FILLISE: I think it is great you work with the senior high kids. Some of the best influences in my life as a teen were non related adults who took the time to treat me like a person with something worth getting to know. I had a teacher, and a previous teacher, as well as a young mom I babysat for that were great influences in my life. So many teens now days need some rational adult influences... Thanks for investing your time in the kids! That is pretty cool you have newspaper clippings about your grandmother cooking for church suppers. I wish I knew something about my grandparents....
Hey, I think I did ok for someone who is falling asleep on the keyboard from lack of T3 and T4 thyroid hormones, don't you agree? I remembered all that, even in a brain fog!
Off for my nap!
