Here's a typical travel day for me:
Breakfast: powdered shake or oatmeal - I make the oatmeal out of the little coffee makers in the hotel room. Sometimes if i'm really hungry, I'll order an egg white omelet with approved veggies.
Lunch: Find a salad bar, or go to a restaurant and get a big salad with lots of veggies I can have. I bought travel size olive oil and vinegar packets that I can bring in my carryon, in the 1 qrt bag. I also ask for lemon wedges for dressing.
Snack1: Live for my restricted bars- easy to pack!
Snack 2: since I only had a salad for lunch, i'm usually hungry. i'll have a shake late afternoon
Dinner: I usually keep it simple and order a steak with no butter, or a piece of grilled chicken, no sauce, or a buger, no roll with approved veggies. I think I do tend to eat a little more animal protein ounces than I do at home. Other than a steak, menus rarely offer the portion size.
I also have learned to find a store w/ presliced veggies, and pick up some sliced peppers, or even a cucumber to cut up. Just knowing you have something in case you're hungry makes it easier.
I recently went to a pizza party at my bosses house in CA and brought my own piece of grilled chicken from a market w/ sliced raw peppers. They all felt gross after, but I felt great! As they munched on cookies, I had my bar. Easy Peasy. And I lost almost 4 lbs when I got home!!
